Fundraising Dress Down Friday 26 th January 2018 Students who wish to participate in the Fundraising Dress Down Friday 26th January are asked to pay 1 to come to school casually dressed. Students who do not wish to participate should come to school wearing school uniform. Monies collected will be split Two thirds donated to charity whilst the remaining one third will go to the School Fund. This is a normal Learning and Teaching day, please remember to bring your school bag and all equipment eg PE kit.

Lost Property There are various items of lost property including several house keys at Student Reception. These will be retained for 1 further week before being recycled. Please call at Reception if you have lost anything to check if we have it.

Prom 2018 The next payment of 20 is due for the 26 th January. This must be handed to Regan Brock. If you have any problems, please speak to her.

Can all S6 students interested in buying a leavers hoodie please see Daniel or Rhiannon to choose a colour and size by the 26 th of January so the company can give a quote. A deadline will then be set for payments. Reminder: hoodies will be handed out as soon as they arrive but cannot be worn in school. Harry Potter Creatures in the Classroom Competition To celebrate Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday 1st February 2018, Bloomsbury (publisher of the Harry Potter books) is launching an exciting new Fantastic Beasts themed competition for schools across the UK. THE COMPETITION: It s time to get creative! Schools across the UK are invited to bring Fantastic Beasts to life for Harry Potter Book Night by creating their very own wild and wonderful beasts as part of the Creatures in the Classroom competition. THE PRIZES: ONE school will win a 'Professor of Potter' Book Festival event, themed around Fantastic Beasts, plus a menagerie of books for their school library consisting of: The Hogwarts Library box set, the Illustrated Edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and a hardback box set of the Harry Potter series. SEVEN runners-up will also receive a copy of The Hogwarts Library box set and an Illustrated Edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. HOW TO ENTER: Each school should create a magical display of made-up mythical beasts using a range of textures and materials. If you would like to create your own creature to contribute to Lasswade High School Library s display, please hand it in to Helen Muir (School Librarian) before February 1 st. There will be prizes for the most original and creative entries!
