Rule was fined the sum of $200 for failing to fulfil his engagement on Stella Command in Race 7 due to being overweight. Race 1 KEEP THE HOUSE CLEAN SV 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1875 metres: After passing the winning post on the first occasion Dazza a Girl, when over-racing, was checked to avoid the heels of Chips In. Hilton Castle, which was following Dazza s Girl, then also had to be checked to avoid that filly s heels. Dazza s Girl continued to over-race until the middle stages. In the straight Hilton Castle laid in. Approaching the 100 metres Chips In had to be steadied when tightened for room between Dazza s Girl and Unique Dream (B. Werner) which shifted out when not sufficiently clear. B. Werner was severely reprimanded and notified in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount much sooner than he did on this occasion.
S. Baster rider of Hilton Castle explained that the colt was not suited by the slow tempo of the race in the early and middle stages and then when the pace did quicken near the 800 metres, despite his efforts to ride the colt along, it was left flatfooted for a short distance. V. Duric rider of Dazza s Girl explained that the filly was slightly disappointing and did not respond to his riding in the straight. V. Duric added that Dazza s Girl pulled up in a normal manner. Race 2 BABEE SANDY MAIDEN PLATE - 1212 metres: Reign High which was reluctant to proceed to the start in its preliminary, was examined by the Industry Veterinary Surgeon on arrival at the start and passed fit to run. During the running of the race Reign High raced erratically and hung out badly rounding the home turn getting beyond its rider J. NcNeil s control who eased the mare down in the straight. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. C, Cassar trainer of Reign High was notified that the mare would now be suspended from racing for its pre-race behaviour and racing manners, until such time as it performs to the satisfaction of Stewards and gains approval to race. Adio and Flirtatious Dream were both slow to jump away. Shortly after the start Adio, which had been slow to jump away, then had to be eased to avoid the heels of Glorieuse, which shifted out and as a result lost further ground. Humble Hugh was inclined to hang out for the majority of the race and rounding the home turn when hanging, shifted out which enabled Adio to obtain a run to that gelding s inside. Idol Factor raced wide without cover throughout. From near the 600 metres to rounding the home turn Jillamatong was held up when unable to obtain clear running. From the 600 metres to prior to the home turn I m Ablaze was held up for clear running. After obtaining clear running I m Ablaze then laid out rounding the home turn and became unbalanced for a short distance. I m Ablaze continued to race greenly in the straight, and over the concluding stages laid in under pressure. Approaching the 200 metres when improving, Flirtatious Dream had to be steadied off the heels of Rustle Of Silk, which had commenced to weaken. As a result of being steadied Flirtatious Dream lost ground before switching to the outside of Kahana to obtain clear running. D. Smith rider of Retro Style which was having its first start, however performed below market expectations, could offer no explanation for Retro Style s performance. D. Smith added that Retro Style pulled up in a normal manner. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 3 VUONG LONG PHAM MAIDEN PLATE - 1469 metres: Riviera Riches and Packwood were both slow to jump away. In the early stages Dehere Cat over-raced and after passing the 1200 metres, when over-racing, had to be checked off the heels of House Of Stars. Riviera Riches over-raced quite badly in the early and middle stages. It s No Joke was obliged to race wide without cover.
Prior to and rounding the home turn Packwood was held up for clear running. For a short distance rounding the home turn Riviera Riches was held up for clear running. Rounding the home turn Heirlooms was inclined to lay out when racing tightly to the inside of Dehere Cat. Near the 200 metres Al Command had to be checked when tightened for room between Dehere Cat, which shifted out slightly, and It s No Joke (L. Currie) which shifted in whilst being ridden along. After taking into account all the circumstances Stewards severely reprimanded L Currie and advised him in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten his mounts. Shortly after this House Of Stars had to be checked when disappointed for a run between Heirlooms and Dehere Cat which after initially shifting out, then shifted back in. As Stewards did not believe any one horse or rider was fully responsible for this incident they notified all riders to take the utmost care in similar circumstances. From this point until inside the 100 metres House Of Stars was held up when unable to obtain clear running. J. Noonan rider of Dehere Cat pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Al Command resulting in that gelding having to be checked. Estambul Or Bust and It s No Joke, which were following were hampered in consequence. J. Noonan was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight 24 November, 2013 and to expire midnight 5 December, 2013, a total of 12 race meetings, 2 city, 10 country. In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the mid range and took into account his guilty plea and his record in this area. Subsequent to the running of the race Al Command became cast in the placegetters stalls. Al Command was subsequently examined by the Industry Veterinary Surgeon who reported grazing to the back legs. Race 4 OLI MR MULTI 0-58 HANDICAP - 1469 metres: Subsequent to the running of the second race the connections of Southern Attire indicated that as the gelding had been over-racing, it was their intention to ride Southern Attire back in the field with cover. Southern Attire was restrained at the start and ridden in a rearward position. Prior to the running of race 3 the connections of Repudiate notified it was their intention to have the gelding ridden back in the field due to its wide barrier. Prior was also restrained at the start and raced in a rearward position. Tiger Time was slow to jump away. When making the turn near the 1200 metres Prior, when improving, had to be steadied off the heels of Delrazzi. Tiger Time which was following Prior had to be checked to avoid that geldings heels after it was steadied. Southern Attire raced wide without cover. Approaching the 100 metres Tiger Time when improving, laid in and then had to be steadied off the heels of Persian Jewels. J. Fry rider of Delrazzi was severely reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres. Race 5 NMIT F & M 0-58 HANDICAP - 1112 metres:
Correct weight was delayed to enable L. Currie rider of Lady Hillingdon 4 placegetter could view the photo finish image. After viewing the image L. Currie agreed with the judge s placings and correct weight was declared. Belle Diva knuckled at the start. Near the 900 metres Lady Blackman when over-racing, got its head up and shifted out to avoid the heels of Dashing Young Love. Rapid Link was obliged to race wide ad without cover. Prior to the home turn Sweet Silhouette was held up for a clear run. Sweet Silhouette was again held up for a run from shortly after straightening until passing the 200 metres. After passing the 200 metres Sweet Silhouette was hampered when tightened for room by Once, which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. P. Moloney rider of Rapid Link was found guilty to a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift in when being ridden along approaching the winning post tightening Once in on to Lady Hillingdon which shifted in resulting in Sweet Silhouette clipping Lady Hillingdon s heels after the winning post and almost falling. P. Moloney was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight 26 November, 2013 and to expire midnight 10 December, 2013 a total of 16 race meetings, 4 city, 12 country. In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the high range and took into account P. Moloney s record in this area. Race 6 SPORTSBET.COM.AU TOP TOTE PLUS C G & E 0-58 HANDICAP - 1112 metres: Danlight Dancer jumped away awkwardly. Boydari was marginally slow to begin. Our Rubistar and Before All both over-raced in the early stages. Platinum Panther and Landy raced wide without cover. Prior to and rounding the home turn Our Rubistar was held up for clear running. From the entrance to the straight until the 200 metres Boydari was held up for a clear run. Race 7 PARRAGON PUBLISHING 0-64 HANDICAP - 1212 metres: Steel Brom was slow to jump away. Shortly after the start Arena Rock shifted in taking Kentucky Dreaming in on to Keljett, resulting in both those horses making heavy contact with each other and Keljett then becoming unbalanced. After becoming unbalanced Keljett then shifted in and severely hampered and tightened Steel Brom, which accidentally clipped the heels of Keljett and knuckled. Excellent Flight over-raced in the early stages, After jumping and being caught wide Poppy s Boy then commenced to over-race badly in the early stages. Top Cat In Ton raced wide without cover.
At the entrance to the straight Love To Learn when weakening, shifted in and made contact with Steel Brom, which when improving and being taken out by Kentucky Dreaming. After making contact with Steel Brom, Love To Learn then shifted out abruptly and hampered Stella Command, which was taken out off its course. At the entrance to the straight Steel Brom had to be steadied when tightened for room when attempting a neat run between Kentucky Dreaming which shifted out marginally, and Zedopia, which shifted in marginally. During the running of the race Top Cat In Town lost its off fore plate. J. Lyon rider of Poppy s Boy which raced in a more forward position today, when questioned explained that he had received no specific instructions from Ms. K. O Sullivan, co-trainer, other than to ride the gelding where it settled after the jump. However after jumping well he explained that Poppy s Boy overraced badly with the addition of blinkers today and as a result led by a clear margin, which was not the intention. Stewards questioned Ms. K. O Sullivan co-trainer of Poppy s Boy who explained it was not the intention for the gelding to lead today, however Poppy s Boy over-raced badly and it would be her recommendation to her father, co-trainer, that the blinkers be removed for Poppy s Boy s next start. Keljett which gave ground quickly over the concluding stages was examined by the Industry Veterinary Surgeon who reported no abnormalities. Race 8 LAKESIDE FINANCIAL BM64 HANDICAP - 1875 metres: Shortly after the start Cobden had to be steadied off the heels of Mancarfio which shifted out. After being caught wide in the early stages Kel s Magic was permitted to stride forward by its rider to obtain the lead near the 1200 metres. In the middle stages Playboy Frank overraced quite badly and got its head up on several occasions. From the 600 metres to the 400 metres Settlers Way was held up for a run. Rounding the home turn Kel s Magic laid out. In the straight Cobden hung in under pressure and near the 200 metres shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of Gardner s Pride. H. Coffey rider of Kel s Magic explained the gelding over-raced in the early stages and for this reason it was obliged to race in a more forward position. J. Childs rider of Playboy Frank explained that the gelding over-raced in the early stages and he believed it was detrimental to Playboy Frank finishing off its race today. S. Arnold rider of Cobden which performed below market expectations explained that the gelding had a tendency to hang in for the majority of the race.
