Round Hanging Rods + Oval Brackets - User Guide. Introduction Overview The Round Hanging Rods + Oval Brackets Package from Solid Setup adds 18 & 25mm Round hanging rods with oval brackets to Cabinet Vision Solid. It provides drilling for the brackets in the cabinet parts for CNC output. It also adds 3d graphics for the rods and brackets etc. It does not require the cabinet to be a closet in order to work. It does not use the Rod type material class available only to closet users. Included in This Package Materials: Name Description Rod Round 18 Rod Round 18mm Rod Round 25 Rod Round 25mm Rod 18 Brkt Oval Rod Round 18mm Bracket Oval Rod 25 Brkt Oval Rod Round 25mm Bracket Oval Parts: Name Description ROD Rod User Created Standards Library The Following UCS s are provided: { RODS } -- Round + Oval Bracket Adds Hanging Rods and brackets. Round Hanging Rod Size 18mm 25mm Set by Variable Set by Variable Note: Hole spacing is set separately for 18 and 25mm rods. You can change this using the UCS Public Variables (See section toward end of document) Round Hanging Rod Usage Parts Involved. The Round hanging rods can be added under the following parts: Top (TO) Top Stretcher (TS) Adjustable Shelf (AS) Fixed Shelf (FS) Shelf (SH) NOTE: To use this package the grain direction of the part must be left to right. Part Attributes: The following attributes are added to the parts (to access them click on the part in an orthographic (smiley) view in the cabinet editor): Rod Round_O? Shows Rod A and B attributes and sets Rod A to true. Rod Round_O A? Turns on Rod A and shows following attributes:- o Rod Round_O A 25 Changes rod from 18mm diameter to 25mm diameter. o Rod Round_O A Centre Sets the gap between the rod centre and the shelf/top. o Rod Round_O A In/Out Sets the In/Out position (default is center of shelf or top) o Rod Round_O A Lh Allows the left position to be changed if required. o Rod Round_O A Rh Allows the right position to be changed if required. Rod Round_O B? Turns on Rod B and shows following attributes:- o Rod Round_O B 25 Changes rod from 18mm diameter to 25mm diameter. o Rod Round_O B Centre Sets the gap between the rod centre and the shelf/top. (default is 150mm) o Rod Round_O B In/Out Sets the In/Out position (default is center of shelf or top) o Rod Round_O B Lh Allows the left position to be changed if required. o Rod Round_O B Rh Allows the right position to be changed if required. Example: Adding Rods under top of cabinet: Tick Rod Round_O? on a Cabinet top. Hanging rod A is added under top: Rod A Tick Rod Round_O B? on a Cabinet top. Hanging rod B is added under the top with a 150mm gap: Rod B Increase Rod Round_O B Gap to move Rod B further down. Hanging rod B is moved down: Rod B Page 3 of 6
Adding a Rod under a shelf to one side of a supporting partition: Tick Rod Round_O? on the shelf. Hanging rod A is added under the shelf: Initially it runs through the partition: Measure the distance from the right face of the left end to the right face of the partition. Enter this value as a negative number for the Rod Round_O A Lh attribute. The left end of Hanging rod A is moved across to the RHS of the partition: Adding a Rod under a Top Rail: Tick Rod Round_O? on the top rail. Hanging rod A is added under the top rail: Initially it is centered under the depth of the rail: To move it back toward the center of the cabinets depth, set the Rod Round_O A In/Out attribute to a negative value as shown here in the side view: Page 4 of 6
Drilling Setup UCS Public Variables There are 9 Public Variables for the { RODS } -- Round + Oval Bracket UCS. To change these variables go to the Utilities Edit User Created Standards from the Room Plan or Elevation views Then click on the { RODS } -- Round + Oval Bracket UCS. On the top right hand side of the screen you will see the Public Variables list for the UCS. Public variables: 18 Bracket Width = Diameter of bracket for 18mm Rods. 18 Rod Center = Default gap between 18mm rod center and shelf. 18 Hole Spacing = Spacing of 18mm bracket holes in cabinet ends. 25 Bracket Width = Diameter of bracket for 25mm Rods. 25 Rod Center = Default gap between 25mm rod center and shelf. 25 Hole Spacing = Spacing of 25mm bracket holes in cabinet ends. Rod End Gap = Gap between rod and cabinet end. (The cutting size for the rod will be less than the opening by double this value). Hole Depths = Depth of bracket holes in cabinet ends. Hole Diameters = Diameter of bracket holes in cabinet ends. If your system is set to mm, Edit the values in the Imp() brackets to the diameter and depths you require. If your system is set to inches, simply replace the whole imp() with the imperial measurement instead. Eg: Imp(3) might become 1/8 Note: To turn off any of the holes if not required, set the depth to zero. Once you have changed these values to your requirements, you can close the UCS editor.
