Packet Pick-Up Where: Bike Barn 2307 Texas Avenue South College Station, Texas 77840 When: Saturday, June 20, 2015 12:00pm-6:00pm What: Who: You will receive your race bib, tattoos, and sticker system along with your race shirt, swim cap, and special deals just for athletes! To pick up your packet, a parent or guardian will need to show a photo ID or your confirmation email. USAT Membership: If you have an annual membership to USAT please bring your member ID with you. If you do not have an annual membership you will need to purchase a One-Day Membership. $10 (cash or check only). Race Day Packet Pick-Up: There is a $10 charge for race day packet pick-up. It will open on race site at 6:00am and will close promptly at 7:00am. Please allow enough time to get your packet and set up your area at transition before transition closes at 7:15am.

Race Orientation During packet pick-up there will be a meeting to go over the course and logistics of the race. This is the time for parents and athletes to ask questions. There will be three different time options for the orientation: 1:00pm 3:00pm 5:00pm After each race orientation meeting, at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm, please stay to hear youth triathlete coach Louie Migliaccio speak on the following: From Youth Triathlete to RockStar - The Pathway to Becoming a Champion. This presentation will educate parents on how to provide the best chance of sports success with youth triathletes. Seminar will focus on age appropriate training, showcase race pathways to the most competitive levels, and highlight training styles necessary to achieve this level. Louie Migliaccio is a USAT Level II Elite and Youth/Junior Certified Coach. He is the Team Director of Trinity Multisport, the #1 ranked Youth USAT Development Program in Texas since 2012.

Race Day Information Where: Texas A&M Rec Center 797 Olsen Blvd. College Station, Texas 77845 When: Sunday, June 21st, Transition and race-day packet pick-up open at 6:00am Parking: Free race-day parking will be provided in Lot 61 just north of the West Campus Parking Garage. You must access this parking lot from John Kimborough as Olsen will utilized for the race course. Water Stops: There will be two water stop locations: One at the beginning of the run course, near transition, and the other at the turn around for the 1K run course. Bathrooms: There will be portable toilets available near transition and the bathrooms inside the Rec Center will accessible. Bike Maintenance: Bike Barn will have a booth set-up near transition and will be prepared to assist with bike maintenance emergencies. Post-Race: There will be water and breakfast tacos provided by Rudy s Bar-B-Q for athletes only (food ticket on bib) when their race is completed. Hullabaloos Bounce House Rentals will provide entertainment for all kids during and after the race.

Race Day Information Course Map Safety Safety is our number one concern for this event. As such, the course will be completely closed to traffic and will be monitored by Race Texas staff and Texas A&M University EMS Services. If there is inclement weather on race day, the race director and Texas A&M authorities will postpone or cancel the race in regards to athletes safety. Please be sure to check our social media outlets for updates. Please note this is a non-refundable event.

Race Day Information Swim Course Athletes will be called to line up by the pool by division and they will then line-up in order by their tattoo/ bib numbers which must be adhered to both arms and the age group tattoo to the back calf. An athlete will start every 10 seconds. Athletes are allowed to pass one another in a lane. Swimmers must stay to the right unless they are passing another athlete on the left. Veterans 11-15 will go first and will swim 8 lengths. Once the last Veteran 11-15 has started their last loop on the bike course, the Veterans 7-10 will start and swim 4 lengths. When the last Veteran 7-10 has left the transition area to start the run course, the Novices 11-15 will start and will swim 8 lengths. Once the last Novice 11-15 has started their last loop on the bike course, the Novices 7-10 will start and swim 4 lengths. All Veteran and Novice 6-year olds will immediately follow the Novices 7-10 and will swim 2 lengths. Per USAT rules no flotation devices are allowed. Transition 1 Helmets must be strapped in place before participants touch their bikes. Helmets must be worn at all times during the cycling portion of the race. Athletes must wear shoes, shirt, and tattoo number on both arms and age group tattoo on their back calf. The bike sticker must be attached to the seat post of the bike with the number trailing behind the bike. There is no riding in the transition area, for safety. Athletes will mount their bikes after passing the mount line when leaving the transition area. Bike Course Only standard drop, straight, or curved handlebars are allowed. No aero or time trial bars may be attached to the bike or used during competition. All handlebars ends shall be solidly plugged. No disc wheels or wheel covers are allowed. Cyclists must wear a helmet approved by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission for road cyclists age 5 and older. No time trial, chrono, or aero helmets with a tail may be used. The helmet must be securely fastened prior to mounting the bicycle and at all times while riding the bicycle. The helmet may not be unfastened and removed until the participant has completely dismounted. Athletes must ride on the right side of the road and pass on the left. Call out, On your left, when passing others and look over your shoulder before making a pass. Athletes must stay within the bike course and should not travel outside of course cones. 11-15-year olds will complete 4 bike loops 10K. 6-10-year olds will complete 2 bike loops 5K. All bikers must finish the appropriate number of loops or will be disqualified. Volunteers will not be counting loops. It is the athlete s responsibility to complete the entire course. There will be a timing station located on the bike course to verify loops. After the athlete completes the bike course, they dismount before the dismount line and enter the transition area again. Transition 2 Each athlete will take their bike back to their original spot to re-rack their bike if possible and take off their helmet. Athletes must be considerate to other participants and keep their equipment confined and out of the other athlete s line of travel. Athletes leave the transition to go on the run course. Run Course All athletes must have a covered torso for the run course and must wear their bib on the front of their body in plain view. All 11-15-year old athletes will run the complete 2K run course. All 6-10-year olds will turn around halfway to complete a 1K run course. The turn-arounds for all ages will be clearly marked, but it is the athletes responsibility to familiarize themselves with their specific age-group course layout. There will be one water station shortly after leaving transition on the run course that will have Gatorade available. There will also be another water station at the 1K course turn-around. After the run course, athletes run down the Finisher s chute to cross the Finish Line.

Race Day Information USAT Rules and Equipment Guidelines Please note that all USAT rules and equipment guidelines will be followed. When transition closes for the race to begin, only officials and athletes may enter transition. Athletes will be disqualified if a parent enters the transition area during the race. Outside assistance on any portion of the race will not be allowed. Athletes must complete the entire race on their own. Parents must obey reasonable requests from the Volunteers, Race Coordinators, Race Director, and Safety Officers. Parents can watch the race from several locations; however, please remember that we will have an active race course and you must stay off of the course during the event. Team Awards Awards will be given to the top 3 teams. Scoring will be based off of ITU point system. Athletes will only contribute to team awards if they are in the veteran division. Top 5 finishers in each veteran age group will contribute points to their team. Points are the following: 1st place 1,000 points 2nd place 925 points 3rd place 856 points 4th place 792 points 5th place 732 points

FAQs When should I arrive? Below is the race day schedule 6:00am Transition opens 6:45am - Swim warm-up begins 7:00am Transition closes 7:15am - Swim warm-up closes and athlete line-up begins 7:20am National Anthem at Pool 7:30am Race Start Veteran Ages 11-15 *8:15am Race Start Veteran Ages 7-10 *9:00am Race Start Novice Ages 11-15 *9:45am Race Start Novice Ages 7-10 and all Age 6 11:00am - Awards (Awards will take place after the last finisher at approximately 11:00am.) *Please note that race start times are subject to change and may be earlier than stated due to previous divisions finishing on the bike course. You will have an assigned spot for your transition area, so there is no need to arrive before the transition open time to reserve your spot. How does timing work? When you arrive you will go to the timing table that will be near transition area to pick up your ankle strap timer. You will wear this strap around your ankle for the entire race. At the end of the race, you will have real-time race results available to view for your overall time and for each leg of the race including the time spent in transition. What should I bring? swim suit shoes appropriate for cycling and running (this could be one pair of clip-in cycle shoes and a pair of running shoes, or just one pair that is suitable for both) helmet (must have a helmet clipped in place while walking and riding a bike) bicycle a t-shirt or race belt to affix your bib to bib, stickers, and race tattoos received at packet pick-up other items to consider: goggles, swim cap, towel, socks, water bottle, hat, sunglasses Can I listen to music during the race? Absolutely no headphones, MP3 players, radios, etc. are allowed during the race at any time. Do I have to wear a swim cap? Can I use a floatation device? Can I use a snorkel? It is your choice to wear a swim cap or not. You may not use a floatation device. You may use a snorkel but if you do it will disqualify you from earning an age group award. When does the award ceremony take place? The awards ceremony will take place when the last athlete has crossed the finish line. You must be present to receive your award. When can I get my equipment out of transition? When you have completed the race you will not be allowed back in transition until all athletes have started the run course. When will pictures be available? All pictures are free and will be available the week after the race. You will be sent an email that contains a link when the pictures are ready for viewing.
