Official Club Business Highlights of November 13, 2017 Board of Directors Meeting President Steve Hardin presided over a quorum of nine Board members. Also attending were four club officers, the General Manager, Shotgun Manager, one Range Officers and one annual member. A quorum was confirmed, the proposed agenda was amended and adopted, the minutes of the October 2017 Board meeting were approved and the following officer and manager reports were presented and accepted: Treasurer Secretary Chief Range Officer Club Manager Shotgun Manager Board decisions made, actions taken and items of interest: Treasurer reported that October 2017 FYTD income was $597,678 (up 8.7%) and FYTD expenses were $301,334 (down 2.5%). Cash in the bank on 10/31/17 was $494,963 including $70,125 in Capital Reserve. Cash on May 1, 2018 is projected to be approximately $329,000. Approved 8 new members and reinstated 1 former members. (list below). Senior members total 126, 6.95% of total membership. Chief Range Officer reported that 14 of 19 shooting venues submitted match reports in October. Total entries were 355 (149 members, 202 non-members and 4 juniors) and event use fees to the club totaled $1,336. Non-competition range use in September totaled 1,402 (1,153 members and 249 guests). The October range safety tour was attended by 7 prospective members and 5 spouses. Approved Mr. Tom Hewitt as Assistance Range Officer for the 100 Yard Match Clinic venue. The General Manager reported that construction of Silhouette Range bathrooms is completion. Moved to charge non-members $20 per night for RV/Camper water/power hookup. Moved that RBGC club members in good standing will be allowed to hook-up their RV or camper at no charge for up to seven consecutive nights. RBGC members who exceed seven consecutive nights will be required to pay $20.00 for each night over seven. Shotgun range use in October was 538 shooters (395 members and 103 guests). 1,993 rounds were fired during the month with 40 cart rentals. Total October revenue to the club was $23,491. The Scholarship Committee s sporting clays tournament in October raised approximately $4,300 for the scholarship fund Two members earned Tactical Rifle Certifications in October. To date, 201 members and spouses have earned Tactical Rifle Certifications. Ninety-two youths aged 8 to 18 participated in the 2017 Young Shooters Challenge on October 28. Fifty RBGC member staff volunteers managed the event. The club served approximately 250 complementary grilled picnic lunches to youth participants, their families and staff volunteers Regular monthly Board meetings are called to order at 7:00 PM on the second Monday of each month in the Gene Mowell Conference Center. Action Pistol Saturday, December 16, was a cold morning, but not cold enough to keep the sixty-one dedicated Action Pistol shooters from missing the last match of 2017! It was another fantastic match and a great ending to a terrific year! The Grinch and his henchmen tried to ruin the holiday themed match by hiding the guns and ammo, but the Action Pistol group are a savvy bunch and weren t taking any of their shenanigans! 2018 Annual Election of RBGC President & Directors As provided in the club By-laws, the President and Directors of the Club are elected by a majority vote of the respective classes of members in good standing, present and voting, in person or by proxy, at the annual meeting of the Club. All members seeking office (Directors or President) in the 2018 election must complete an application fulfilling all requirements and submit it to the club secretary not later than Thursday, February 1, 2018. Such application must be made on the official club application form approved by the Board of Directors. Important notice: The application form is included elsewhere in this newsletter and may be downloaded and printed. The official candidate application form is also available upon request from club secretary Linda Steadman (contact information below). Please note that the BOD-approved candidate application for the 2018 election is Rev. 11.13.17 (indicated on the bottom right of the footer on each page). Shotgun Hill Hours: OPEN Thursday - Sunday 10am - 6pm last round must begin prior to 5:30 pm CLOSED Monday - Wednesday Club Hours: Club hours are from sunrise to sunset (specific times for specific dates are listed on the RBGC and other weather sites) on all ranges except the shotgun ranges, which are open late on certain days of the week, light and weather permitting (check the website for scheduled days and hours of operation). Evening shooting (until 9:00 p.m.) will be scheduled periodically on the lighted field. Check the website or contact the shotgun Manager for current schedules.
