Teens for Jeans Campaign The Olathe East Choir Department is collecting gently used jeans to distribute to local homeless shelters (The Salvation Army/Johnson County Family Lodge) for teens in need. The drop box is located in the Commons by the vending machines, as well as in the Main Office and the Choir Room (Room 412). The campaign runs from September 14 th until November 16 th with your help, we can make a difference!

Hispanic Family College Fair The Olathe Public Schools and the Hispanic Leadership Club are hosting the Hispanic Family College Fair at 630pm on Tuesday, September 27 th at Olathe North. The event is open to all age students and presentations will center on topics related to college preparation.

Career Expo 2016 This one-day event (on Thursday, September 29 th ) is designed in cooperation with local employers and schools to expose high school students to career pathways which are known to be locally plentiful and well-paying. This unique and unprecedented career exploration event will target certain industries: Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Skilled Trades, & Supply Chain Management. Designed to be highly interactive and interesting to student attendees, students will network with local businesses, their employees, and post-secondary representatives. Business professionals who work within specific careers will engage with juniors & seniors. If you would like to attend the Career Expo, please see Mrs. Shaw in Counseling ASAP!

ACT Prep Session There is an ACT Prep session for all sections of the ACT (& test-taking strategies) being offered on Saturday, October 08 th from 830am-12:30pm. Please bring your $35 payment to the Counseling Office to reserve your spot.

PSAT Prep Session If you are taking the PSAT, Mr. Flynn and Mr. Williams are offering FREE prep sessions from 3:15-4pm! Math will be in Mr. Flynn s room (Room 518) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Reading, Writing, & Language will be in Mr. Williams (Room 804) on Mondays and Wednesdays.
