WASP Museum Homecoming Event Community Service Project - Saturday, May 23rd 4-H ers you have an awesome opportunity to be part of the WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots) Homecoming event. The Museum is needing help setting up for the Dinner on May 23rd. They need help beginning at 4 PM until about 5:30 PM. Michael Ables, WASP Executive Director, will be at the 4-H meeting to discuss the events. 2015 DISTRICT & STATE HORSE SHOWS The District Horse Show is scheduled for June 16th in Llano. The State Horse Show is scheduled for the week of July 18th-25th in Abilene. A current coggins test is required at each show. To be eligible for the District and State Horse Show all horses must be validated by May 1st. This year s Horse Validation Program process will be electronically completed using the 4-H CONNECT online management system. ALL 4-H members who wish to show in a District or the State 4-H Horse Show(s) will be required to validate their horse(s) through the 4-H CONNECT system. If you need help completing this process please contact Zach at 236-6912. Youth Range Workshop DATE: June 22nd-26th PLACE: Texas Tech University, Junction, TX COST: $300 AGE: 14-17 years of age and have completed the 8th grade This workshop is to provide educational experience and training for youth interested in practical range, ranch and natural resource management. 2015 4-H Open Horse Show DATE: Saturday, May 16th PLACE: Taylor County Expo Center-Horse barn Abilene, TX COST: $10 per class - $50 maximum AGE: 13/under 14/18 All Age Open Show REGISTRATION: Begins at 7:30AM - Classes start at 9 AM Negative Coggins Required For further information please call (325) 672-6048 Place: T Bar M Resort, New Braunfels Date: June 24th 26th Cost: $235 Age: 13 and up Registration: will be on 4-H Connect from May 4th until June 1st. Butterfly Bites What you need: Utensils Vegetable brush (optional) Cutting board and knife Measuring spoons Spoon and spreading knife Ingredients: 3 stalks celery 12 large twist pretzels 6 tablespoons creamy peanut butter 3 tablespoons raisins What to do: 1. Wash hands and cooking area. 2. Clean celery with vegetable brush under cool running water. 3. Cut celery in half cross wise. 4. Fill center of each celery stick with one tablespoon of peanut butter. This is the body of the butterfly 5. Add two pretzels to form the butterfly s wings. 6. Use extra pretzel pieces for antenna and raisins for decoration.
