(See Friend at Curt) The USTA Pint Penalty System will be strictly enfrced and applies t players, caches, and parents. Unsprtsmanlike cnduct will nt be tlerated and may result in a default if s ruled by the Turnament Referee. Player Eligibility: T advance t the NrCal Junir Team Tennis Sectin Champinships, a player must: Same Gender Divisin Play 2 r mre matches t cmpletin fr the specific advancing team during the lcal seasn (matches played n ther teams d nt cunt twards eligibility) Players are nly allwed 1 n-site default t cunt as a match played lcally All match scres must be recrded nline Ced Divisin Play 2 r mre matches t cmpletin fr the specific advancing team during the lcal seasn Default matches d nt cunt twards eligibility in this divisin All players must remain age eligible thrugh Aug. 31 st 2016 as well as have a current USTA membership thrugh that date.
Team Substitutins (Same Gender Divisin) The team requesting a substitutin must have 8 r fewer rstered players at the end f the seasn fr their team. (Identified by unique Team ID Number) The team, fr whatever reasn, cannt meet the 6 player minimum required fr Sectinals Teams may nly make ne substitutin per team If a player is n a team that qualified fr Sectinals, and the team accepts the invitatin t play in the event, that player will nt be eligible t jin anther team as a substitute The nly case in which this wuld be allwed, is if their riginal team declines the invitatin t play at the Sectin Champinships If a team declines the invitatin, a ntificatin will be sent t that team captain ntifying them that their players are nw eligible as substitutins fr ther teams The first attempt t find a substitute must cme frm yur wn facility/prgram. If yu have ther teams in yunger age divisins r multiple teams in the same age divisin (Ex: Team A and a Team B), yu must make an effrt t pull a substitute frm thse teams If yu nly field ne team frm yur facility/prgram r if nne f the players frm yur ther teams can play, then yu will be allwed t sub frm anther facility/prgrams team within yur league The substitute player must satisfy the fllwing requirements: Rstered n anther team within yur league, verified by USTA league sftware Must have played 2 team matches thrughut the seasn fr their riginal team i. (1 match f which can be a default) Must be rated at the same level r play up a level i. An advanced player cannt be added t an intermediate team ii. An lder player cannt play dwn an age divisin Lastly, the substitute player must be at the same level r belw the level f the player they are replacing. JTT Staff will use the fllwing criteria when determining if the substitutin is cmparable: 1. Lcal league play results 2. Rankings/Turnament Results 3. Cach/Area League Crdinatr Feedback ii. Example: Team A has 6 players, the #4 player is nt able t play at Sectinals. Team A can substitute a cmparable player r belw than the #4 player that they replaced JTT staff will make final apprval if the substitutin will be allwed Team Substitutins (Ced Divisin) Any substitute player fr a Ced Divisin team must have written apprval by the Turnament Directr t ensure the substitutin is legal per the 2016 USTA JTT Natinal Regulatins. Nn-eligible players Players that have been ruled nn-eligible fr whatever reasn can play in matches at Sectinals, hwever all f their matches will be default wins in favr f their ppnents. A player may play fr ne same gender team and ne ced team during the Sectin Champinships. Players may nt play n tw same gender r tw ced teams during the Champinships (regardless f age divisin)

Yu will start the match dwn 2-0 Nte: If a player(s) is injured during the turnament and a team des nt have 5 eligible players fr a match, the entire team match is defaulted Same Gender Divisin (Intermediate) Team rsters must have a minimum f 4 eligible players If a team des nt have 4 eligible players fr a match, the #4 singles match and #2 dubles match is defaulted. Order f Play: Ced Divisin Intermediate and Advanced Team matches will cnsist f 2 singles (1 Bys and 1 Girls), 2 dubles (1 Bys and 1 Girls) and 1 mixed dubles match Team match winners will be determined by ttal verall games wn. In the event f a tie, after all 5 individual matches are played, each cach will designate 1 girl and 1 by frm their team t play a mixed dubles 10-pint tiebreak t determine the match winner Nte: If a match tiebreak is played t determine the match winner, that game will nt be cunted twards a team s verall ttal games wn calculatin fr flight standings Only 1 by and 1 girl player per team may play mre than 1 individual match per team match If a player chses t play twice in an individual match, they can nly play in Bys/Girls Singles and Mixed Dubles, r Bys/Girls Dubles and Mixed Dubles. A player may nt play in bth Bys/Girls Singles and Bys/Girls Dubles in the same match. Scring frmat - Ced 14U Int. and Ced 18U Int. Divisins: Rund rbin matches will be an 8 game prset, n ad scring. A 7-pint tiebreak will be played at 7 games all if tied during the set. Nte: Fr all deuce pints in mixed dubles, bys must serve t bys and girls must serve t girls. Receiving team cannt chse their preferred side. Playff Match Scring Frmat- All playff matches will be best f 2 ut f 3 6 game shrt sets, n ad scring, a 10 pint match tie-breaker will be used in lieu f a 3 rd set. (A 7- pint tiebreak will be played at 5 games all if tied during the set.) Scring frmat - Ced 14U Adv. and Ced 18U Adv. Divisins: Matches will be best f 2 ut f 3 6 game shrt sets, n ad scring; a 10 pint match tiebreaker will be used in lieu f a 3 rd set. (A 7-pint tiebreak will be played at 5 games all if tied during the set) Same gender divisins will either begin with Singles r Dubles matches. There are 5 match runds each day, and depending n yur match time will determine if yur match will start with singles r dubles first. See belw fr a ptential breakdwn fr Same Gender divisin: Saturday: 7:30am Singles, 9:15am Dubles, 12pm Singles, 1:45pm Dubles, 4:30pm-Singles Sunday: 8:00am Singles, 9:45am Dubles, 12:15pm Singles, 2:15pm Dubles Ced divisin matches will start with a mix f singles/dubles matches depending n which players duble up during a team match. Ced team matches will be played in 2 runds using 2-3 curts per team match Order f Play fr Same Gender Dubles Matches T determine rder f play fr dubles, the cmbined number frm the strength ladder will be used t determine #1 #2 and #3 dubles psitins. Strength Ladder Example - #1 player plays with #6 Their ttal is 7. The #2 player plays with #4 Their ttal is 6. The lwer number pairing will be placed as the higher ranked dubles team, in this case the #2 and #4 players will be the #1 dubles team since their ttal number is 6. In the case f a tie in number, the dubles team with the higher ranked singles player will be placed as the higher ranked dubles team.
Caching: All fficial caches must be listed n a teams fficial rster frm, submitted prir t the turnament, in rder t be n the teams credential Caching is nly allwed during fficial changevers and nly frm the fficial team cach(s) wh must wear the caching credential at all times. Only 1 credential per team will be issued and will nly include the caches that are listed n the fficial turnament team rster frm. New caches will nt be allwed t be added at the event. Nte: All fficial caches must have cmpleted the USTA Safe Play plicy and be in the cleared caches database fund here: http://www.usta.cm/abut- USTA/backgrund_screening_prgram_results/ Caching is allwed n curt but caches may nt stay n curt during any play Caching must nt interfere with the cntinuus play rule which allws 90 secnds during the changever Nte: Caching will nt be allwed after the 1 st game f each set Nte: Caching will nt be allwed during a tiebreak changever Team Check In Teams must check in at the site listed n their draw at least 15 minutes befre the scheduled start time Lateness penalties will be enfrced. Players must check in at least 15 minutes prir t their start time. After checking in, players must remain checked-in and must be ready t play frm that pint n. If yu d nt check in by the stated match time, yu will be placed n the penalty clck regardless f curt availability. Lateness f five minutes r less: ppnent autmatically wins tss and receives ne game fr every individual match(singles and dubles) Lateness f mre than five minutes, but less than 10 minutes: ppnent autmatically wins tss and receives tw games Lateness f mre than 10 minutes, but less than 15 minutes : ppnent autmatically wins tss and receives three games Lateness f mre than 15 minutes: TEAM DEFAULT Team Line Ups Cmplete individual match lineups will be filled ut during match check-in, bth singles and dubles matches. This line up must be cnsistent with the fficial rster ladder submitted prir t the event (fr same gender divisins). Each match lineup will be verified by USTA turnament staff. Official team rsters rdered by strength are based ff f the cach hnr system. Strength ladder shuld be determined by the current level f each player at the time f the turnament. If an ppsing cach challenges the validity f their ppnent s strength ladder, they need t ntify the turnament directr. The turnament cmmittee will lk at all available infrmatin t make a determinatin abut level f play. Any player that is determined t have played a match in an incrrect psitin based n the fficial team rster ladder will be subject t an individual match default.
Substitutins t Submitted Lineups (Same Gender Divisin) All match lineups must be submitted at the start f the match fr all singles and dubles matches Changes t the submitted match line-up may be made during a team match, but nly after the 1 st rund f matches and befre the 2 nd rund f matches are put n curt. Changes are nly available if the substitute player is n the fficial team rster ladder (submitted prir t the Sectin Champinships) and the new match line-up must stay cnsistent with team strength ladder. If a substitutin is requested, bth caches must be present at the turnament desk Example: Yur individual match #2 singles player is substituted after the dubles rund with the #8 singles player n yur fficial team rster ladder. That #8 player will NOT play at #2 singles psitin fr that match. They will mve dwn the match line-up until lcated in the crrect line-up psitin based n strength rder. All ther players will shift up accrdingly. Substitutins t Submitted Lineups (Ced Divisin) N substitutins may be made in an individual match after the lineup has been presented, except fr injury t, r illness f, a player prir t the start f the match, and except under such further circumstances as the champinships cmmittee may authrize. If the substitutin is made during the warm-up, the substitute player is entitled t a five minute warm up. The substitutin shall affect nly the ne psitin fr which the substitutin is made. The remaining lineup psitins shall remain the same. Flight Frmats and Advancement Rules Each flight will cmplete a rund rbin, playing every team in their flight. The rder f finish in the rund rbin will be determined based n the fllwing: Same Gender Divisins: Team win/lss recrd Ced Divisins: Ttal games wn In the event f a tie, the tie shall be brken by the first f the fllwing prcedures: The winner f the head-t-head match The team with the mst team matches wn in the rund rbin flight The team with the mst individual matches wn in the rund rbin flight The team with the mst sets wn in the rund rbin flight Fr a divisin with nly 1 flight, yu will play ne cmplete rund rbin and yur final rund rbin standings will determine yur finish in the turnament. Nte: Except the Ced 18U Advanced Divisins in which additinal playff matches will be played based n finish. Fr a divisin with 2 flights, each flight will cmplete their rund rbin. If yu finish 1 st in yur flight, yu will play the 1 st place finishing team frm the ther flight. 2 nd plays 2 nd, etc. If yu finish 3 rd r 4 th in yur flight, yu may nt have anther match. All playff scenaris will be prvided in yur cach packet yu receive at check in. Sprtsmanship Sprtsmanship is paramunt t every individual match, team match, and cach/player/parent interactin during the turnament. All caches, team managers, parents, and players are expected t act with the highest level f sprtsmanship when cmpeting in Junir Team Tennis leagues and turnaments. Individual sprtsmanship awards will be handed ut thrughut the Sectin Champinships by USTA Staff and fficials when excellent examples f sprtsmanship are displayed.
Ranking Pints Players will receive ranking pints fr every individual singles and dubles win during the turnament. (Mixed dubles matches will nt earn pints) Advanced Divisin = 35 pints per win Intermediate Divisin = 15 pints per win (Same-gender teams play in a 15U divisin. All pints earned in this divisin will cunt twards a 16U divisin ranking) Gar Glenney Cup Advanced same gender divisin Sectin Champins will qualify fr the Gar Glenney Cup and be eligible fr a $750 team travel stipend. Natinal Champinships All Ced Divisin Sectin Champins will qualify fr the USTA JTT Natinal Champinships in Suth Carlina and be eligible fr a $3,000 team travel stipend The team that finishes runner up at the USTA NrCal JTT Sectin Champinships in the Ced 18U Adv. divisin will earn a free entry int the 2017 WTT Natinal Champinships in San Dieg, CA (a $530 value)
