They scored 74 runs from 4 games The pitchers were brilliant: Brooke W, Shayla C, Tasmyn P, Tamsyn D, Amy N and Mackenzie S The catchers, Amy and Mackenzie were exceptional Fielding was okay, but our batting, base running, and stealing was first class We played the big hitting Redwood Park, gave up too many runs, but then destroyed them with our batting! We would like to thank all the parents who came along for support on the day. Thanks to Jason Eggenhuizen for coaching and to Tammy Cooper who scored and was the main official on the desk all day. Lots of other parents scored and helped organise the teams. Huge thanks! Mr Pearce
Reading is my Secret Power Theme for Book Week in Term three. We interviewed Susannah K and Ms Wright to see how reading is their secret power. Reading cheers me up when I feel sad. It s like I m in the book as one of the characters and I get so involved that I don t want to stop reading. My favourite author is Soman Chainani who wrote the series The School for Good and Evil. I would love to talk to him about how I related to some of his characters and how he gets his ideas. I like reading fantasy books like the Harry Potter series. My favourite books are The School for Good and Evil, Deathly Hallows and Boy Overboard. They are intriguing, with different worlds and characters that are extraordinary. Susannah K I love reading novels and picture books with my class and discussing them in depth. Reading helps us learn about others, have empathy and takes us to different worlds. My favourite children s author is Phil Cummings. I have read his picture books and used them with my class for many years. When I met him I found him inspiring and a very funny storyteller. I would love to meet Saroo Brierley, the author of Lion. A long way home, as a movie has been made about his life. Ballet for Drina by Jean Estoril was my Mother s book and I read it over and over, even though I never did ballet. I also enjoy reading books by Judy Blume and the Baby sitters club series. Ms Wright
Canteen News Our school community uses and values our school canteen and they are in need of your help! The canteen does not currently have enough volunteers and urgently needs you! Are you a family member or caregiver? Have you got a spare hour or more a week? If you can volunteer and help sustain the amount of lunch orders and specials that our canteen provide, please see Jenny or Jackie in the canteen. Thank you. IMPORTANT Could all families that use Qkr please change their child s home base on the app. This is very important as lunches have been getting delivered to the wrong classes. Thank you.
