Teach them t check in at Field event, then cmpete in Track event and return immediately t Field event. Athletes must register themselves in persn. 60m fr grade 7 bys and girls and 8 girls, 100 fr grade 8 bys, 8 & 9 girls, 300m will be instituted this year. Students may participate in a maximum f three events and each athlete may nly participate in ne relay. Schls will be assigned an area fr seating and specific times fr washrm checks CONTESTANT ATTIRE: Schl gym strip, sweats, r team identifiable schl jerseys are t be wrn by all cntestants. It is recmmended that tps be in the schl s clr. Students will nt be allwed t participate unless they are dressed apprpriately. (N shrt shrts) All clthing must meet district guidelines. Ftwear must be wrn n the track. NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED. If track shes are used nly pin spikes will be allwed EACH schl must prvide a minimum f 10 parent r student vlunteers fr assigned duties (Mre wuld be appreciated). Please have vlunteers dressed in schl clurs. Each schl will be assigned a field event t administer. Be prepared fr weather cnditins. Sprt therapists will be available n-site Caches MUST remain in the stands at all times. Each schl will have ne designated Head Cach. He/she will be the nly ne allwed t make changes r apprach the results hut. ONLY cmpetitrs will be allwed n the field and track. Phtgraphers must remain in the stands. Students MUST stay in the Glenmre Track & field facility. IPAd r similar camera device will be used at the finish line. Final placing will be determined at the scring shack by cmmittee members nly. ENTRY FORMS Will be cmpleted thrugh the Sydex system again this year. Must be cmpleted by Midnight (three full business days prir t the date f yur meet). Last minute changes (i.e., illness r injury) must be submitted n Pink Frm n later than caches meeting. N ther substitutins will be accepted after the caches meeting (EXCEPT injury substitutins fr relay). DO NOT submit times r distance. ALL names must be in ENGLISH! (American sftware prgram will nt accept accents etc.). HEATS ONE Heat will be a final TWO Heats tp 3 frm each heat and next 2 fastest THREE Heats tp 2 and next 2 fastest FOUR Heats 1 st and next 4 fastest times 300 M will be a timed final RESULTS Individual runners/field event athletes cmpete against all ther students in the race. Aggregate scres cmpare t aggregate ttals versus ther schls within the same Tier. This als means that runners cmpete against all ther runners/schls in same tier (even thse running at different event n different day). Fr instance, St. Rse f Lima scres are cmpared t ther Tier 1 schls nly nt the schls at their races. SPIRIT AWARD 1. Cperatin 60% Guidelines: Participants have an identifiable unifrm. Students were cperative and did nt interfere with the running f the meet. Schl staff/parents refrained frm being in the infield. Students were where they were expected t be, in the stands unless participating. Students are in the stands and the fence in frnt f yur stand sectin is clear. 2. Spirit 40% Guidelines: Behaviur and Leadership in the stands. Schl identity and lyalty bservable in the stands. Sprtsmanship evidenced (cnstant, psitive cheering). General spectatr etiquette pays attentin t the Annuncer re: quiet during the start please.

LONG JUMP RULES FOR COMPETITION 1. The take-ff shall be frm a bard, sunk level with the runway and the surface f the pit, the edge f which, nearer the pit, shall be called the take-ff line. Fuling by verstepping the take-ff bard will be rigidly called. 2. Each cmpetitr shall be allwed ne trial and three cmpetitive jumps 3. In case f a tie, the secnd-best perfrmance f the cmpetitrs tying shall decide the tie. 4. If a cmpetitr is entered in bth a track and field event, the track takes precedence and the judges may allw the cmpetitr t take his trials in an rder different frm that decided upn. Unless such permissin frm the judges has been received, a cmpetitr wh misses his turn shall nt be permitted t take the trial s missed. 5. All jumps shuld be measured frm the nearest break in the pit, made by any part f the bdy r limbs, t the take-ff line (r its extensin) and at right angles t such line (the actual measurement being taken at the take-ff line r its extensin). If in the curse f landing, a cmpetitr tuches the grund utside the pit nearer the take-ff than the nearest break in the pit made by the jump, such jumps shall nt be measurement, but shall cunt as a failure. 6. All measurements must be made with a certified tape. The pit shall be mistened befre the cmpetitin. 7. If any cmpetitr tuches the grund beynd the take-ff line, r take-ff line extensin, with any part f the bdy, whether running up withut jumping r in the act f jumping, it shall be cunted as a failure. 8. A cmpetitr may place marks beside but nt n the runway t assist him in his run-up and take ff. 9. At the cnclusin f the event, the event card and TOP THREE COMPETITORS are t be taken t the annuncers table fr awards presentatin.

RELAYS RULES FOR COMPETITION 1. Lines are painted acrss the track t make the distances f the stages, and t dente the exchange zne. 2. Lines are drawn 10m befre exchange zne. Outging runners can begin t mve in their 10m zne, but cannt receive the batn in this zne! 3. The psitin f the teams at the start f the race shall be drawn and shall be retained t each exchange zne. Lanes will be assigned randmly. 4. If, during the prgress f a race run in lanes, a cmpetitr runs beynd his inner brder f his lane, he shall be liable t disqualificatin. It shall be fr the referee t decide when any reprt is made, whether the cmpetitr shuld be disqualified. The fault must be blatant r severe enugh t warrant disqualificatin. 5. The batn must be carried in the hand thrughut the race, and can be passed nly within the take ver zne. If the batn is drpped, it must be recvered by the athlete wh drpped it and exchanged in the exchange zne. Cmpetitrs cannt gain advantage r interfere with anther runner. (Disqualificatin) 6. Cmpetitrs after handling ver the batn shuld remain in their lanes r znes, until the curse is clear t avid bstructin t ther cmpetitrs. Shuld any cmpetitr willfully impede a member f anther team, by running ut f psitin r lane at the finish f the stage f the race, he is liable t cause the disqualificatin f his wn team. 7. Assistance by pushing-ff r by any ther methd will cause disqualificatin. 8. At the cnclusin f the event, the event card and TOP THREE COMPETITORS are t be taken t the annuncers table fr awards presentatin. 9. CO-ED Relay will fllw the same prcedures abve, hwever BOYS will run 1 st and 3 rd and GIRLS will run 2 nd and 4 th in dd years (i.e., 2015, 2017 etc.). GIRLS will run 1 st and 3 rd and BOYS will run 2 nd and 4 th in even years (i.e., 2016, 2018 etc.). 10. Students may nly participate in ONE relay as part f their three events. 11. Trs is the determining factr at the finish-line.

SHOT PUT RULES FOR COMPETITION 1. The fficial weight f the sht will be 2.7k (6lbs) fr girls and 7 bys, 4k fr intermediate/senir bys. Athletes will be allwed t glide acrss the circle if they have been instructed. Spinning is NOT allwed. 2. The sht shall be put frm the shulder, with hand nly. It must nt be brught behind the plane f the shulder, the sht shall tuch r be in very clse prximity t the neck, and the hand shall nt drp belw this psitin during the actin f putting. Fingers MUST pint twards bdy. Thrws are illegal. (Warning Sign fingers pinting up ) Officials will disqualify any attempt when sht-put is thrwn. 3. In all thrwing events, each cmpetitr shall be allwed three puts. Each cmpetitr shall be credited with the best f all his puts. 4. It shall be a ful put, and disallwed, if the cmpetitr, after he has stepped int the circle and cmmenced t make a put, tuches the utside f the circle, r the grund utside the circle with any part f his bdy, r releases the sht in making an attempted thrust. (i.e., drpped sht put is a ful ) 5. The cmpetitr must nt leave the circle until the sht has tuched the grund, he/she must leave the circle frm the rear half, which shall be indicated by a chalk line drawn thrugh the centre and extended utside the circle, nt less than 65 cm n each side f it. Leaving the circle frm the frnt half is a fault and the put will nt be measured. 6. A ful put, r the release f the sht in making an attempt, shall be recrded as a fault n scre sheet. 7. All puts frm the circle, t be valid, must fall within the inner edge f the lines marking a sectr f 60, the radial lines crssing at the centre f the circle. 8. The measurements f each put shall be made frm the nearest mark, made by the fall f the sht, t the inside f the circumference f the circle. See diagram fr sht put fr measuring prcedures. 9. A distinctive flag r disc shall be prvided t mark the furthest put. 10. Cmpetitrs shall use nly such sht r Shts as are prvided by the rganizers f the meet. 11. They will repeat in the same rder fr the 2 nd and 3 rd put. (EXCEPTION when an athlete arrives late frm anther event their puts will be at the discretin f the fficial).

DISCUS RULES FOR COMPETITION 1. The fficial weight f the discus will be 750 grams fr grade 7 bys & girls and grade 8 and 9 girls. The fficial weight f the discus fr grade 8 & 9 bys will be 1kg. N sharp edges prtrusins r irregularities shuld be fund n the discus. 2. Cmpetitrs shall use nly such disc r discus as are prvided by the rganizers f the meet. 3. The discus will be thrwn frm a standing psitin nly (Grade 7 and 8). Grade 9 s will be able t spin if they have their caches permissin t spin and have been prperly instructed. Please mark an S n these athletes prir t cmpetitin. 4. In all thrwing events each cmpetitr shall have three attempts. Each cmpetitr shall be credited with his best attempt. 5. The thrw will be ful and disallwed if the cmpetitr after he has entered the circle and cmmenced his r her attempt tuches the utside f the circle, r the grund utside the circle with any part f his/her bdy r releases the discus in making an attempted thrw. (i.e., drpped discus is a ful ) 6. The cmpetitr must nt leave the circle until the discus has tuched the grund, he/she must leave the circle frm the rear half, which shall be indicated by a chalk line drawn thrugh the centre and extended utside the circle, nt less than 65 cm n each side f it. 7. Cmpetitrs shall use nly such TurbJavs as are prvided by the rganizers f the meet. 3. In all thrwing events each cmpetitr shall have three attempts. Each cmpetitr shall be credited with his/her best attempt. 4. All athletes will be allwed t use an apprach that will take n mre than 10m. (~5 Steps) 5. The javelin must be held by the grip with ne hand nly, s that the little finger is nearest t the pint and the thrwer s last cntact with the javelin shall be with the grip. 6. Once the cmpetitr starts their apprach t thrw, the cmpetitr may nt turn cmpletely arund s that his/her back is twards the thrwing area, until the javelin cntacts the grund. The javelin shall be thrwn ver the shulder r upper part f the thrwing arm and may nt be slung r hurled. The cmpetitr must remain within the runway bundaries (including the arc) until the javelin has landed (a ful will be charged if any part f the cmpetitr falls r tuches dwn utside f the thrw bundaries). They must leave the thrwing bundaries under cntrl after the javelin has landed, staying 1 meter behind the thrwing arc. 7. The thrw will be valid and measured frm whichever part tuches the grund first. If the Turb Javelin is nt cmpletely within the inner edges f the sectr lines, the thrw will nt be measured. 8. If the javelin breaks at any time during the curse f the thrw, it shall nt cunt as a trial. 9. If a thrwer imprperly releases the javelin in making an attempt, it shall be recrded as a ful thrw. 10. In the Javelin Thrw, the measurement f each thrw shall be made frm where the first cntact strikes the grund in a direct line t the arc center mark, 8 meters (26 3 ) behind the inside f the ful arc (aka the pullthru pint ). 11. A distinctive flag r disc may be prvided t mark the furthest thrw r recrd. 12. If the cmpetitr is entered in bth a track and a field event, the track event takes precedence and the judges may allw the cmpetitr t take his trials in a different rder frm that decided upn, unless such permissin has been received a cmpetitr wh misses his turn shall nt be allwed t take the trial s missed. 13. In the event f a tie, cmpetitrs will be given an extra thrw. 14. At the cnclusin f the event the event card and the TOP THREE COMPETITORS are t be taken t the annuncers table fr awards presentatin. 15. All athletes will be given a practice thrw, time allwing. Practice thrws will nt be cunted r measured.

17. Athletes will thrw in the rder they appear n the start sheet. They will repeat in the same rder fr the 2 nd and 3 rd thrw. (EXCEPTION when an athlete arrives late frm anther event their thrw will be at the discretin f the fficial).

SPRINTS & MIDDLE DISTANCES RULES FOR COMPETITION 1. Preliminary heats may be held when the number f cmpetitrs is t large t allw the cmpetitin t be cnducted satisfactrily in a single heat. Finalists will be selected by place finish. 2. A cmpetitr shall nt be allwed t cmpete in a heat ther than the ne in which his name appears, except in circumstances which in the pinin f the referee justify an alternatin. If there is 1 heat it will be a final. If there are 2 heats the tp 3 in each heat and the next 2 fastest times advance. If there are 3 heats tp 2 in each heat and next 2 fastest times. If there are 4 heats tp 1 and next 4 fastest. 3. If there are three heats the first and secnd place finisher shall qualify fr the final and the next tw best times. Please see qualifiers fr race sheet. 4. In the event f a tie in any heat which affects the qualificatin f cmpetitrs t cmpete in the next rund r final, where practical the tying cmpetitrs shall bth qualify. If there are nt enugh lanes available a cin tss will be used t determine the result. 5. All races shall be started by the actual reprt f a pistl r any similar apparatus fired upwards in the air, but nt befre all the cmpetitrs are still n their marks. 6. The wrds f the start shall be: ON YOUR MARKS, and when all cmpetitrs are steady n their marks, the pistl shall be fired. 7. If fr any reasn the starter has t speak t any cmpetitr, either befre r after the wrd ON YOUR MARKS, he shall rder all cmpetitrs t stand up and the clerk f the curse shall place them n the assembly line again. 8. If a cmpetitr leaves his mark with hand r ft after the wrd ON YOUR MARKS, but befre the sht is fired it shall be cnsidered a false start. Any cmpetitr making a false start shall be warned. On the third false start, the ffending runner will be disqualified. If a cmpetitr false starts tw times, they will be disqualified n the 2 nd false start. 9. If, in the pinin f the starter, the start was nt fair, he must recall the cmpetitrs with a secnd sht r a whistle. If the unfair start was due t ne r mre cmpetitrs beating the Pistl, it shall be cnsidered a false start and the starter must warn the ffender r ffenders, wh shall be disqualified if they cntinue t ffend after ne such warning. NOTE: The starter need nly warn the cmpetitr r cmpetitrs, if any, wh in his pinin were respnsible fr the false start. REMIND cmpetitrs that a secnd sht r whistle means there has been a false start and t STOP RUNNING! 10. The cmpetitrs shall be placed in the rder in which the trs crsses the finish line. 11. All starts will be frm a standing psitin. Feet must be behind the start line. 12. Each cmpetitr shall keep within his wn lane thrughut the race, except fr the 800m.

13. If during the prgress f a race run in lanes, a cmpetitr runs crsses int the lane f ther cmpetitrs, he shall be liable t disqualificatin. It shall be fr the referee t decide, when any reprt is made, whether the cmpetitr received any advantage r impeded anther runner and, if s, the cmpetitr shuld be disqualified. 14. A cmpetitr after vluntarily leaving the track shall nt be allwed t cntinue in the race. 15. N cmpetitr shall receive any assistance frm any persn during the curse f the race. 16. 300m races will be timed finals. 17. MID. DISTANCE: In any cmpetitin where there are mre cmpetitrs than can be placed in the first rw, the draw fr statins shall be by schls, when ne cmpetitr frm each schl shall be placed in the rder f the draw. Additinal starters frm any schl shall then be placed behind in the same rder. Caches need t advise runners wh are the 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd seed fr starting purpsed. 18. MID. DISTANCE: N fficial r ther persn within the arena, except the delegated timer r the annuncer, shall call ut any intermediate times t cmpetitrs. 19. MID. DISTANCE: N cmpetitr shall crss in frnt f anther in any case, until and unless he is 2m ahead f that cmpetitr. Any cmpetitr willfully jstling, running acrss r bstructing anther cmpetitr s as t impede his prgress shall be disqualified. If in any race a cmpetitr is disqualified fr any f these reasns, the referee shall have pwer t rder the race t be re-run r, in the case f heat, t permit any cmpetitrs affected by the act resulting in disqualificatins, t cmpete in a subsequent rund f the race. Fr 800 meter races any bdy cntact within the first 30 meters causing an advantage r disadvantage t a runner shall cnstitute a false start and the race will be restarted. Runners will be able t cut in nce they pass the 2 nd waterfall curve n the track. (the starter will indicate where this line is) 20.
