Crusher Combat Sports BJJ + NOGI KIDS/Teens RULES for the : Be FIRST Championships 2016/2017 : General Rules **No unsportsmanlike conduct will be allowed!! You may be disqualified for any disrespectful conduct towards your opponent, referee or volunteers!! The referees will be shown maximum respect at all times. Their decisions are final and will not be overturned.** Crusher Combat Sports reserves the right to expand or combine matches when registration is low to form divisions and to accommodate competitors. CLEANLINESS: all the competitors must come to the event clean, with trimmed toe and finger nails. Competitors with offensive odors before the events starts will be refunded and kindly asked to leave the tournament. We are looking to create a safe, clean and friendly environment. Competitors with long hair must tie it back properly and securely. No infectious skin diseases (such as ringworm, staph, MRSA) or open wounds will be permitted. No lubricants, oils, or lotions, of any kind will be permitted on any part of the body or clothing. HEALTH ADVISORY: Always wear SANDLES/runners when NOT ON MAT AREA or when using washrooms. Thankyou. POLICY FOR GI AND UNDERGARMENTS: All the competitors must wear a clean and properly fitted GI of any brand. Any color of GI is permitted, but bottom must match the top. Permitted undergarments for men: underwear or compression shorts are mandatory, no t-shirts are allowed but a rash guard is accepted. No groin protectors (cups) will be allowed. For women is mandatory to wear underwear or compression shorts underneath the pants, and bra and/or rash guard under the jacket. AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place competitors. WEIGH-INS: All weigh-ins will be conducted at the day of the tournament at the venue without the kimono (GI).

MATCH LENGTHS: KIDS 8-17 years old : 3 minutes. POINT SYSTEM : NO GI + BJJ (GI) Rules *3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss. The referee will decide the winner, based on overall performance; first on submission, or by submission attempts, dominant positioning, and reversals. 4 points - mount, rear mount 3 points - passing the guard 2 points - takedowns, sweeps and knee on the belly 1 point Advantage (Referee discretion) WAYS TO WIN : Submission Verbal or physical TAP of competitor, Referee stoppage due to medical concern, rule infringement or Disqualification of opponent. WHEN you win a match it is your responsibility to confirm your name with scorekeeper to ensure points are properly awarded. ALL DIVISIONS will be using the ROUND ROBIN format. WARNINGS: For stalling, backing out of the guard without engaging, covering opponents mouth, touching the eyes or groin area, and for fleeing the ring to avoid take down. If a competitor flees when a submission is locked in and the competitors is obviously fleeing to avoid submission he/she will be automatically disqualified. If competitors get out of bounds they will be allowed to continue grappling anywhere on the matted area provided they don t interfere with another match. If the competitors are near the edge of the mat, they will be restarted from the same position, unless the referee is unable to duplicate the position for any reason. In case the referee is unable to duplicate the position the competitors will restart from a standing position. DISQUALIFICATIONS: The competitors will be immediately disqualified in case of unsportsmanlike conduct, any kind of striking, heel hooks, cervical locks (can opener or classic cervical), neck cranks, knee reaping, fleeing from the ring when a submission is applied, intentional slamming on takedowns, or when submission is applied. Also if a competitor breaks any of the rules after officially be warned or blatantly attempts to hurt their opponent, bad sportsmanship or harassment referee/coach or attendees will not be tolerated and result in DQ. No striking, biting, eye gouging (including chin to eye), head butting, attacks to the groin area, small joint manipulation (finger or toe locks), hair pulling, grabbing the windpipe or ear pulling will be permitted.

No slamming allowed. Illegal slamming will be defined as slamming your opponent to escape submissions and/or to pass the guard; or standing from the guard and/or jumping from a standing position to slam your opponent. Slamming will result in an automatic DQ. There are no exceptions to this rule. TAKEDOWNS: Takedowns are not considered slams, but you must try to deliver your opponent safely to the mat. No flying scissor take downs are allowed, and take-downs slamming (kata-guruma or similar), no suplexes, or takedowns with intention to use as submission or causing injury to the opponent. For juvenile (16-17) other Illegal MOVES: heel hooks, or any other lock twisting the knee (including reverse toe hold and reaping the knee), No Neck Cranks, knee bars, figure four toeholds, and compression locksslicers/crushers. also NO cervical chokes such as can opener or classical cervical. The chokes that have small amount of pressure on the cervical will be allowed. Kids/Youth- 15yrs and under : are not allowed any kind of submission below the waist (except the straight ankle lock), any pressure against the opponent s spine, any thrust or windpipe chokes, any cervical attacks, even bear hugs (like a frontal lion kill), no biceps or calf crushers, no wrist locks. The referees will have the authority to stop the kid s matches, for safety, when a submission is tightly applied. Guillotines and sleeve chokes (Ezekiel Choke) are legal for the kids, but the referees will be very attentive to stop the fight if the submission is secure. The referee will warn the competitor for the first illegal attempt and disqualify the competitor on any secondary attempt. There is ZERO tolerance for competitors trying to HURT or INJURE their opponents on purpose. KIDS / YOUTH DIVISIONS KIDS 8+under KIDS 9-10yrs YOUTH 11-12yrs YOUTH 13-15yrs Juvenile 16-17yrs *divisions will also be grouped by weight and experience, depending on registration some divisions may be combined The Be FIRST Championship tournaments are to be used solely for gaining experience in your chosen discipline, to learn something new while having fun in a safe environment. RULES + REGULATIONS 2016/2017. CRUSHER COMBAT SPORTS INC. Be FIRST Championships Tournament Sport Karate / KB Continuous Sparring KIDS / TEENS SPECIAL EDITION GENERAL: This is a semi-contact sport Karate Sparring tournament that will not allow ANY Excessive contact. We want our tournaments to be safe and respectful. This tournament is used solely for getting exposure to the sport and used as training. It will not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct with the intent of hurting their opponents, this is strictly for the learning experience and most of all for FUN! Basically - Don't do something you wouldn't want done to you!! COMPETITION COMMANDS: Bow! - You must bow to your opponent and bow to the referee. Touch gloves before start. Fight!.To begin the match and to restart after any interruptions. Break! - The fight is to cease immediately, it can only restart with the Fight command. WEIGHT + EXPERIENCE DIVISIONS: You will be placed in the division that is most suitable for you. We will be taking in account your experience, belt ranking, age and weight to make is as evenly matched and safe as possible!! Divisions may be combined depending on registration but competitors will be notified previous to the event. CLOTHING: Every fighter must compete in clean and appropriate fight wear. Uniform / Gi / Belt or Traditional pants with school T / Belt or Board shorts / thai shorts / Rash guard also accepted. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: The sparring match will only be carried out if the fighters are both wearing and agreeing upon complete safety equipment. Required Protective Gear : Kids/Teens Boxing Gloves 10oz, Head gear, mouth guard, interior groin cup, Shin Pad with foot instep are also required. Hands/wrist can only be protected by using basic cloth hand wraps. Safety equipment must be in good condition and must be approved prior to competition by CCSinc staff and referees. Children can use body protectors (optional). We recommend trainers to bring the best protectors you have for sharing in case your students gear isn't approved. Also Be sure to have finger + toe nails trimmed. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: All competitors are recommended to see their family doctor to ensure that you are in good physical and mental health to participate in this Martial Arts Event. Fighters or their legal guardian/parent must be responsible for your own health insurance. Do NOT compete if you have a rash or infection of any kind that could spread to your opponents. You will not be allowed to compete and will be disqualified without refund.

THE MATCH: The duration of kids/youth match 8-17yrs of age is 1 minute/30secs. The duration of the adults match 18 yrs + is 2 minutes. You must stay in the boundaries of your ring, if intentional you may be eliminated. The fight will only be stopped if injury occurs, safety gear has shifted or severe penalty is in order All divisions are round robin. SCORING SYSTEM: There will be 3 judges per ring. (We require each school participating to please have 2 volunteers that can help with judging, reffing, coaching, timing ect... it takes many volunteers to make these events successful!! ) The evaluation of each match should be made according to the number of targets hit, the effectiveness of the attack, the deliverance of a clean technique and the overall impression of the athletic performance. You must use technique and speed rather than strength + power!! You will be warned and possibly disqualified for excess contact (using too much force), Unclean Fighting style (brawling), constant turning of the back to the opponent, and using illegal strikes or foul language. A close fight will be judged by overall impression and not by considering the single target hits. At the end of the match judges will point to the fighter they have chosen the winner, if a draw both hands of the judges will point to either fighter. If your opponent is disqualified for any reason you are awarded the winner of the match and continue to the next round. RULES OF PLAY-LEGAL STRIKES: Punches straight, hook or uppercut to headgear. Kicks front, side, roundhouse, hook, crescent, Spinning + jumping kicks allowed with complete control) Leg catch allowed but you must execute legal strike immediately. KIDS 8yrs-12yrs will NOT be allowed ANY contact to the face or head. Techniques must be pulled before any contact occurs YOUTH 13-17yrs Are allowed light contact to headgear only! Punches, kicks to body and leg 50% power. Knees to body are allowed with control. We want everyone to have a good experience! RULES OF PLAY-ILLEGAL FOULS: Strikes of any kind to the groin, spine, back of head, knees and neck. Elbows. Knees to head. Spinning back fists. Or Any technique done blindly. Holding Ropes. Attacking a downed or seriously injured opponent. Failing to fight. Talking. Not listening to referee. Bad Sportsmanship. Running out of bounds, you must circle to stay on matted area or in boxing ring. Striking with power + strength will NOT be awarded, possible penalty or disqualification for any excessive damage. Judges will be scoring on technique with full control, speed and movement. Remember this is a Continuous SPARRING Tournament. Nobody is to get hurt or seriously injured. CRUSHER COMBAT SPORTS Be FIRST Championships YOUTH BOXING RULES!!!! 13-17yrs. GEAR : MUST SUPPLY YOUR OWN GEAR!!!! You are required to wear headgear and use 16OZ gloves. Kidney protector optional. Boxing shoes are optional. CLOTHING: Must wear shorts and your team/ gym t-shirt/ protective cup mandatory. We will be following a round robin format. Divisions are divided by weight, age and by experience : NOVICE: UNDER 1 2 YEARs OF TRAINING. ADVANCED : 3 OR MORE YEARS OF TRAINING. This is a BOXING SPARRING TOURNAMENT!!! Used solely for experience. Competitors must compete with speed and technique, rather than power!! You are scored on points of clean strikes made by the 3 judges provided. ANY EXCESSIVE FORCE used will have you immediately disqualified!! You are required to punch headgear with light contact, and body strikes can be kept at a moderate level. Play Safe and Have FUN!!!
