Entry fees: 10 first class per horse (Excluding Classes 1, 2, 97 & 98 these do not count as your first class on your entry form) 5 per class thereafter per horse excluding classes 94, 95 and 96 fee is 2.50 per horse (20% discount for TAS ARAB s financial members) Entries close: 11th January 2019 Registration Requirements: All horses must be registered with AHSA. Exhibitors of Purebred Mares, Stallions and Derivative Stallions must be current financial members of the AHSA to compete. All entries must be in correct owner/lessees name to compete. This will be verified with AHSA. All entries must show their correct reg. number so we can verify their reg. status with AHSA. Identification of Exhibits: All horses must be able to be identified by their brands/microchip and markings in accordance with the Certificate of Registration issued by the Society and must comply with all State and Federal laws regarding livestock identification. Change of coat colour or adding white markings is prohibited and may result in disqualification. Every horse born in Australia must be branded or micro chipped prior to being exhibited. Age of horse: Will be taken from 1st August in the year of birth. A foal is under 12 months of age as of this date also. Stallions/Colts: Must be shown by a competent handler of 18 years of age & over. Protests: Any complaints will be handled by the disputes committee. A fee of 50 must accompany any complaint in writing within one hour of the judging of the class. It will be returned if protest is upheld. The committee consists of: Committee Member, Show competitor, Show secretary/ Club President (whichever is required). No DC member can hear a protest in a section of which they are competing. The judge concerned can be consulted. The resulting decision is final and binding. Numbers: Competitors need to come to PA box to receive their show numbers. NUMBERS MUST BE CLEARLY DISPLAYED AT ALL TIMES on either HORSE or HANDLER. Dual Registered Horses competing in Dual Registered classes must be registered with A.H.S.A. and another recognised Breed Society. Proof of second registration must be produced on request. Both registration numbers to appear on entry form. Brood Mare: A brood mare is a mare which has a foal at foot or which is due to foal during the current breeding season (i.e. between 1st August and following 31st July) or has delivered a foal registered by the Society in the previous 2 years or has a Pregnancy Certificate that she is due to foal in the next breeding season. Pregnancy Certificate or A.H.S.A. documentation should be available and supplied with entries if required. If exhibiting a Brood Mare with a foal at foot, said foal must be led by a competent handler it must not be running free next to their dam. Disclaimer: Tas A.R.A.B.S. We reserve the right to: Combine any classes if insufficient entries in section in accordance with AHSA rule book. Reject or cancel any entry if sufficient reason. Cancel a class. Alter the time at which a class is to take place. Remove any exhibiter from ground if deemed necessary. Remove handler from ring if unsuitably presented for judging, i.e. approved helmet must be worn at all times while riding (unless otherwise stated I.e. costume, western & stock horse classes.) Sensible footwear and neat & presentable attire. All classes are judged under the AHSA rule book. Refunds: Will only be issued if: 1. Secretary is notified by phone of cancellation of entry within 24 hours of/after show and then followed up in writing within 7 days of show. 2. Such letter to be accompanied by vet/dr certificate/letter 3. 20% of entry fee will be retained for admin purposes. 4. The entry is concerning a horse already entered for show. Refunds do not extend to day entries.

Class Definitions: ARABIAN PERFORMANCE INDEX:-is only open to Registered Performance Index Arabians 3yo and over. HALF ARABIAN:-must be registered as Arabian Half Breed to be eligible to compete in this section. DERIVATIVE COMPETITORS:-please note that unless we receive a minimum of 5 entries per class, these classes will be combined irrespective of the numbers in any other classes in that section. In accordance with the AHSA rules. State Bred & Owned: - The exhibit must have been foaled in Tasmania & owner must be a resident of Tasmania. Yearling Sweepstakes: - Will be based on entry money less 20%. Prize money will be allocated to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters. Open to all sexes. NB (This class is not counted as the first class on your entry) 2 Year Old Challenge: - Will be based on entry money less 20%. Prize money will be allocated to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters. Open to all sexes. NB (This class is not counted as the first class on your entry) Breeders Group, Sires & Dams progeny classes: - Are held following Supreme Judging & prior to lunch break & can be entered on the day. Entries can be a mix of Pure & Derivative with 2 or more entries required. Prizes: All prizes must be collected on the day or otherwise be forfeited. To Competitors: 1. A Judge should never refer to a competitor by name. Exhibits are to be called in by number or colour. 2. A Judge should not converse with competitors. If a competitor requires information, it must be relayed through the Steward. If your horse was placed 2nd to a horse that has been sashed Champion, you must enter the ring immediately and advise the steward that you are eligible to contend for judging of the Reserve Champion. 3. A competitor may speak to a Judge after having arranged a suitable appointment through the Ring Steward or other Show Official. The Judge should receive such a competitor in a courteous and polite manner but always in the presence of a Steward or Show Official. 4. Judges should not discuss the sale, purchase or lease of any horse with an exhibitor before or during a Show which they are officiating. 5. A Judge shall not visit the exhibits lines with owner/s or exhibitors nor inspect or discuss any horse entered in the show or contest prior to the judging.
