March minutes were reviewed and approved. Treasurer s report- Brad Brown Report is as follows and just noted that $900 was spent for the coaches to go to the State Tournament. Principal Report Mr. Hazlett He has noticed the difference in the meetings and it is a great change. He noted that Mr. Kooima transferred to Washington High School and Laura Raeder is now the Assistant Principal at RHS. There was discussion about the construction starting up around the building and the auxiliary gym is being remodel by August 2016 and they are getting new bleachers and wood floors. There is a new kitchen cooler going in and new theater curtains. There is need to hire a few more teachers.

Activities Director report- Casey Meile Taylor Hetland and Tyler Van Voorst are the Roosevelt FCA Athletes of the Year and will be recognized on August 27 th at Augustana University. 3 new head coaches are starting for next year: a. Mitch Begeman Boys Basketball b. Laura Hallauer Girls Soccer c. Kyle Svendsen Wrestling Roosevelt has new branding coming with logo. It will be released soon. Old Business Kris Denevan Thank you s were received from the boys basketball in appreciation of Booster support. We received $12 from Filly Flair and no amount available what was raised at Granite City. Skyzone is offering 10% donated to Roosevelt Boosters for an RHS night. Working with Carrie West on this opportunity. The 50 Roosevelt house flags arrived this week and the cost is going to be $30 each (cost is $23 each), and it will also be used as an incentive in the membership drive. New Business: President s Bowl Rich Brenneman A flyer was handed out for people to volunteer for different activities. It is attached at the end of these minutes. You may complete it and email it to Rich Brenneman at brenneman@sio.midco.net. Roosevelt will be running the President s Bowl next year and so we need committee chairs. The 5K run/ 2 mile walk will be June 10, 2016 at 6:30 PM starting at Falls Park. RHS won the Traveling Golden Shoe for most attended last year at the 5K and want to win again. This is for runners and non-runners and they want to get that word out on social media. Red Lobster is donating $100 to the school that wins the Traveling Golden Shoe. For every Powerade case that is bought at Fareway, which started January 1, 2016, Coca Cola will donate.25 to the President s Bowl. There is a President s Bowl planning meeting on the 3 rd Wednesday of the month at the IPC office at 5:30 p.m. Spirit Committee Collin Moriarty Track is set up for the activity involving 1st-6 th grade students on May 3. A couple of flyers are attached at the end of these minutes. They are looking for a few volunteers to help make this event a success. They want students to register and the first 100 get a Future Rider T-shirt.

Baseball will have their activity at the May 10 th baseball game against O Gorman. There will be tailgating with hot dogs and meet and greet the players handing out their pictures and also running the bases after the game. Game is at 6pm, tailgate at 5pm. They are working on tennis and musical for an activity yet. The first Spirit meeting at the RHS Library after the Booster Club meeting was tonight, rather than a separate night at the Prairie West Library. They will continue to follow the monthly booster meeting. March Featured Activities were Debate (has 3x more kids than they did last year) and Fine Arts (Sawyer Olson presented some of his fabulous work and told about his appearance in New York City, where he received best show and his work is put in Carnegie Hall.) Sr. Class Party Looking for Junior Parents to sign up to clean up the after graduation party and you may contact Cara Hetland at 605-204-0204. These people will go at 4 a.m. on Monday, June 6 and put the decorations in storage and are in need of 5-10 people. They are also looking for a chairperson for next year, too. There is a link on the Roosevelt Booster page to the Senior Class Party information. Coach/Advisor Reports: Please use electronic form found on the RHS Booster Web Site to submit activity updates Band- Kristi Irsfeld Band has been extremely busy this month! All State Band was held in Watertown on April 2. Showcase Concert held at the Washington Pavilion featured Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Concert Choir on April 5. The SDSU Jazz Festival was held on April 7. The Chamber Ensemble Concert- Percussion Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Woodwind Choir- was held on April 12. On April 13, the band participated in the Region II Large Group Contest in Brandon. And tomorrow night is the Jazz Concert at Memorial Middle School at 7:00 p.m. TWO DATES TO KEEP IN MIND TO SUPPORT THE BAND!! -April 27-29 Rummage Sale at the Luke Home, located at 6505 W Strabane Trail -April 30- Paper Shredding in the Memorial Middle School parking lot from 9-1. Baseball- Judy Aldrich Even though the weather has not been the best yet, all three of our teams have still managed to play a decent number of games. Basketball Boys Carrie West Congratulations to Mitch Begeman for being named Roosevelt Boys Basketball Head Coach. Mitch is replacing Derris Buus who has resigned after 2 years with Roosevelt to move back to Winner, SD with his family. We wrapped up the season with our Boys Basketball Banquet on April 11 and have a Boys Basketball Committee/Parent Representative Meeting scheduled on May 4. We will discuss any final items from this season and start to plan for the 2016-17 season.

We now have a website up and running with information for boy s basketball. The website is www.rhsriderboysbasketball.com. The website has a spring calendar with the lifting schedule for spring and summer. After State Track or May 30, dates will be added for practice and/or skill training now that contact rules have been changed. That practices/training will be set for after school is out June 3. Also on the website is a sign-up for incoming freshman to receive updates from the coaching staff on upcoming events as well as a summer camp list and registration form. You can find also find information on Twitter at Rider_hoops. And a new app, Remind, is also being used for messages and updates to information regarding boys basketball. Basketball Girls- Tracy Mitzel Off Season Bowling Tina Lippert / Valerie Ronning Cheer Sideline Barb Olson Chorus- Mike Brenna Concert Choir participated in the Showcase Concert at the Washington Pavilion on April 5th. Large group contests were held in Brandon on April 13th. All ensembles participated and received Excellent and Superior ratings. Individual contests were held at Augie on March 23rd. Executive Suite wrapped up its Show choir season on April 9th competing in the 1st annual SD State competition. ES brought home 1st Runner-up. The final "Pops Concert" will be held Friday, May 27th at 7 PM. Renaissance Erica Fersdahl Soccer Boys Christine Hupke Soccer Girls - Kristi Irsfeld We officially have a new coach for the 2016-17 season! Laura Hallauer had a meeting with the girls on March 24, and sent the following to all RHS Girls Soccer families about her background: I grew up in Denver and played high school and club soccer in Colorado before making the decision to play at USD in 2001. I absolutely love South Dakota and although I was away for a few years working in Colorado and then coaching at a college in Indiana, I returned to coach at USD as soon as the opportunity presented itself and spent four seasons with the YOTES. I have since shifted into a career working with my degrees here in Sioux Falls. The girls are excited to get moving back into Power, as well as some futsal opportunities with the RHS Boys' team this spring! Two meets have been cancelled which forced us to scramble a little bit to find other meets Approx. 25 qualifiers right now and that number should take off as we get to warmer weather, more competitive meets Running with the Riders track event is taking shape, link for that will go out this week. Hoping to schedule school visits through Mr. Meile for the start of next week due to Dakota Step testing this week. Volleyball- Kathy Ragels Off season Wrestling- Lisa Lohr Wrestlers helped with cleanup at the Pentagon on Friday, April 15th as a fundraiser.
