2 2019 is finally here. Are you happy? I am. NEWS FROM YOUR GOVERNOR Packers are not in it but we are going to have a big Super Bowl party. This year we will have a Chili cook off. We will be starting at 3:30 pm on the 3rd with raffles and plenty of fun. The chili judging will start at kick off and go on through to halftime. $5 to judge all the different chili's, enter as many times as you like, more the merrier. If you would like to bring a soup or two that's fine. They just won't be judged. Enter a 5 quart crock pot of chili, put your name on it so it doesn't get lost or mixed up. Sorry to say the Moose Zoo Review was canceled for the 16th. We will be having a open mic comedy night instead. Willie Sterba will provide the equipment. You supply the jokes, please keep it clean, all you need is two minutes of your best stuff. Plus Willie has some classic Moose Zoo review out takes for us to enjoy as well. We have a new lodge incentive program for LOOM members when signing up new members; sign up one, get a moose pin. Two gets you $5 in moose bucks, three gets you 1 years free dues. Four get you a moose shirt, five gets $10 in moose bucks and 5 club status. Sixth one gets you a years free dues, seven you get a moose hat. Eight gets you $15 in moose bucks, nine you get another years free dues. If you get more than nine then we'll have to figure something out. Challenge us. The state incentives are sign up one new member get $10 in WMA moose bucks; sign up three new members get $5 in WMA moose bucks and $10 towards mid-year conference hotel room; sign up 5 new members and get $5 in WMA moose bucks, Moose Camo fleece Jacket and $20 towards mid-year hotel room. SPORTS February 3rd is Super Sunday. Watch New England vs. L.A. for the NFL championship in our Social Quarters. Kick-off is 5:25 pm. The fun starts at 3:30 pm. Plenty of food, specials and raffles. Monday night pool continues, results for the fall session show Joan Westermier and Fred Haug taking 1st; Lori DeGuire and Jason Lindow took 2nd; Teresa Tabbert and Jerry Bertsch took 3rd. Long time chairpersons Darla and Ron Kramer are stepping down. Much thanks to them. Monday night pool will continue. Will Heyden scored a table run and Fred Haug had two 8 ball breaks all in one night. Leroy Lindow and Steve Bevins took the Monday AM first half title. Bill Walker and Dennis Collins took the Wednesday morning title. Andy Burger and Doug Johnson co-chair. Play starts at 9:30 am, lunch is served 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. both days. In State pool, Lodge 286 took a second and fourth at Racine. State bowling starts in March in Muskego. Racine is hosting the State Dartball on February 16th. Bowling and Dartball entry blanks are on our bulletin board or enter on-line. Time to start thinking about Spring and Summer. Now we have softball, corn hole, horseshoes and two morning golf leagues for our members. There is time and room for more events. Got any ideas, suggestions? Let me know. We currently have no evening golf, could use a chairperson. Notes: Our long time secretary for the lodge Jan Ward is retiring from our office. She has been around a while. NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT It is already time to start the Nominating & Election Process for the 2019-2020 WOTM Officers. If you are interested in running for an office, please fill out a nomination form for the office which you are interested. There are forms posted on the bulletin board in the hallway. The nominating meetings will be held on February 5th and 19th, and March 3rd. The Slate of Officers will be announced at the March 5th Activity Meeting. The Election of Officers will be at the March 19th Business Meeting. Thank you to Elsa Weller for planning a Community Event where a group of 14 volunteers from Kenosha LOOM and WOTM. We prepared and served dinner to the guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House. It was such a fun and rewarding experience. Thanks to all the volunteers that participated, especially Hans, our Grill Master. He braved the extremely cold temperatures to grill all of the chicken. Donations being accepted: Do you have any kitchen gadgets that are in good shape that you no longer use or want, the Kenosha Moose Kitchen may be able to use them. If you have new or slightly used kitchen items that you would like to donate, please drop them off on Wednesday during Bingo (approximately 4-7 PM). Thank you! February is Rocker Fundraiser Month. The Fundraiser is for the Endowment Fund. When you are in the Social Quarters during February, you can purchase a Rocker and put your name on the sheet. Let's see if we can fill the Social Quarters with Rockers! We always have a friendly competition between the WOTM and the LOOM.
