The game-winning goal was scored by B s forward Chris Kelly at just 1:18 of overtime. The B s and the Caps are set to matchup for Game 2 of the series at the TD Garden on Saturday, April 14 where the puck will drop at 3:00 p.m. The following day, the team will travel to Washington in preparation for Game 3 at the Verizon Center on Monday, April 16. Continuing the series, Game 4 will take place in Washington on Thursday, April 19. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. for both games in Washington. If necessary, the Bruins will return home to play a Game 5 at the Garden on Saturday, April 21. The game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley and Naoko Funayama will call Monday and Thursday s game for NESN (HD), while the tandem of Dave Goucher and Bob Beers will handle radio duties for all games on 98.5 The Sports Hub. NBC will have the Game 2 and Game 5 calls. The start times for the upcoming playoff games are as follows: 4/14 vs. WSH, 3:00 p.m. ET 4/16 @ WSH, 7:30 p.m. ET 4/19 @ WSH, 7:30 p.m. ET *4/21 vs. WSH, 3:00 p.m. ET *If necessary SHUTOUT STREAK: Tim Thomas earned his sixth career playoff shutout with the 1-0 win over Washington in Game 1... It was his second consecutive postseason shutout, as he recorded a 4-0 win on June 15, 2011 in Vancouver in Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final... He now carries a playoff shutout streak of 123:44 with his last playoff goal allowed a Maxim Lapierre score at 17:34 of the third period on June 13, 2011 vs. Vancouver in Boston during Game 6 of the SCF... Thomas is now tied with Cecil Tiny Thompson for second place on the club s all-time playoff shutouts list, trailing only Gerry Cheevers who registered eight. GAME 1, GAME 2: The Bruins now have a 44-45 lifetime record in game ones of best-of-seven series... Their Game 2 record when leading a series 1-0 is 28-15 and they are 31-14 overall in best-of-seven series in which they have led 1-0. NO WEAK LINKS: Bruin defenseman Andrew Ference introduced The Chain to the Bruins locker room following the Game 1 win over Washington. The Chain is similar to last year s Jacket, which is awarded to the player of the game after every Bruins win. The Chain is comprised of 20 links (for the 20 players that dress) and has a lock with the Spoked-B engraved in it. Following each win, the player who earns The Chain will wear it during the postgame

availability and then have their number inscribed into it. According to Ference, The Chain reminds the group that there can be no weak links. CHAIN TALLY: 4/12 vs. WSH, Game 1 Chris Kelly 126 AND COUNTING: Including the Bruins latest home game the B s have now sold out their last 126 home games at the TD Garden, including regular season and playoffs. This sellout streak began more than two years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553). FACEOFF LEADER: Patrice Bergeron won the most faceoffs in the NHL this season (973) and finished the regular season having won 59.3% of his draws. That percentage ranked second overall in the NHL, trailing only Chicago s Jonathan Towes (59.4%). In Game 1 against Washington, Bergeron won 18 of his 25 faceoffs (72%). PLUS/MINUS: The Bruins owned the top five plus/minus ratings in the NHL this season: Patrice Bergeron (+36), Tyler Seguin (+34), Chris Kelly (+33), Zdeno Chara, (+33) and Brad Marchand (+31). RATINGS RECORD: NESN s coverage of the Bruins 1-0 overtime win over the Capitals in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Game 1 set a new first game of a playoff series ratings record for NESN with a 11.6 average household rating in the Boston DMA and a 19.3 share. The 11.6 rating is also the 7th highest Bruins playoff rating in NESN history. BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW): The opening week of the playoffs did not disappoint from the TOTW perspective. Multiple media members made bids to earn this week s honor but it was an industry veteran who ended up securing his first Tweet of the Week of the year. @GlobeKPD (Kevin Paul Dupont, Boston Globe): Wish we could see those White House cut-ins, with POTUS cheering on L'il Ball o' Hate. And here are this week s honorable mentions, in no particular order: @DJ_Bean (DJ Bean, WEEI.com): No Krejci at Bruins practice, but the glass is here doing whatever it wants. Shanaban my eye. #BosWsh @DJ_Bean (DJ Bean, WEEI.com): Krejci dodged a bullet but he couldn t dodge a gigantic pane of glass. That s a fascinating skill set. #Bruins #BosWsh @GlobeFluto (Fluto Shinzawa, Boston Globe): BC Eagles right below me during TV timeout. It can be viewed online at BostonBruins.com and on the Bruins Media Website. In addition to notes on all players in the Bruins system and features on newly signed players Justin Florek, Zach Trotman, Adam Morrison and Torey Krug, here are some of the other Prospect Report s highlights (stats current as of 4/6/12): TREMBLAY TAKES IT TO PROVIDENCE: Former leading scorer of Clarkson University s Golden Knights, forward Nick Tremblay signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) with Providence on March 15. Since then, he has appeared in four games with the AHL club and has recorded a goal and an assist in that time. He tallied an assist on a March 18 victory over Springfield, and recorded his first professional goal on March 25 in a game against Portland. Tremblay scored the lone regulation goal to tie the game at 1-1 and send it to overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the teams went to a shootout where Tremblay scored the team s second shootout goal. CAMPER CONTINUES TO LEAD: Carter Camper currently leads the P-Bruins in points (46) and assists (29) and is tied for second in goals (17) with teammate Josh Hennessy. On April 1 Camper contributed two goals to the team s 3-2 OT win against Connecticut Whale. Scoring the first goal of the night and the game-winning goal in overtime, he earned the Number One Star of the game. In a winning victory (5-2) over the Manchester Monarchs on March 23, Camper tallied two assists. MACDONALD MAKES IT THREE: As of April 2, P-Bruin forward Kirk MacDonald has recorded points in his last three games with the club, tallying an assist on April 1, scoring the lone P-Bruin goal on March 31, and an assist on March 30. MacDonald also recorded a two-goal night on March 18 in a 5-1 victory over Springfield. He currently ranks fourth in the P-Bruins scoring race with 31 points thus far on the season. GOTHBERG GETS THREE: Over the past seven games Zane Gothberg is 4-3-0. Of those four victories, three of them are shutouts. Currently, Gothberg ranks first in the USHL with number of shutouts at seven. He earned these shutouts against the Sioux Fall Stampede (8-0) on March 30, the Des Moines Buccaneers (2-0) on March 23, and the Omaha Lancers (1-0) on March 18. Of those three games, Gothberg received the Number One Star honor each time. Gothberg currently ranks second in GAA among USHL goalies (2.23) and tied for first in save percentage (.921) with Ryan McKay. HAMILTON ON TOP: Over the past nine games Dougie Hamilton has 2-11=13 totals. He finished the 2011-12 regular season leading the OHL in points among defensemen with 17-55=72 totals. He currently leads in points among defensemen with 2-6=8 totals and ranks 12th among all players during the 2012 playoff season. Hamilton had a three game point streak from March 22 25 where he tallied 2-4=6 totals. Hamilton was named the Number One Star of the night after scoring one goal and an assist on March 23 during a victory (6-1) against the Oshawa Generals. On March 15 he had a multi-point night contributing three assists in an 8-1 win over the Peterborough Petes. INJURY UPDATE: Jared Knight of the London Knights suffered a sprained ankle in Game One of the first round of the 2012 OHL Playoffs on March 23. In Knight s only playoff appearance this year, he scored one goal for London in the third period, securing the team s eventual 3-0 victory over the Windsor Spitfires. While Knight did

not play in the rest of the series, his team swept Windsor in four games and is headed to the second round where they will matchup against Saginaw.
