There are two upcoming meetings with opportunities for input from our members on the I-440 beltline widening project for which we would like to have your promotional help. The first is a meeting to be held at the Club on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 3pm, where the Board of Directors will be able to provide project talking points that we feel will help with speaking at the public hearing on August 8, 2017, writing letters, or contacting elected officials. The second is the public meeting/hearing which will be held at the McKimmon Center on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. At that meeting, there is an open house from 4:30-7pm followed by the public hearing at 7pm. It is important that our members submit written or make verbal comments during the public hearing portion of the meeting. Whether you make comments or not, it is important that you be present. We would like for you to consider wearing Wolfpack red as a show of solidarity. Our FY 2018 budget process has begun for both our operational and capital budgets. The groups responsible for developing the budgets welcome and value all input. Our committees and departments within the Club all have assignments and target dates for completion for both the operational and capital budgets. If you are a member of a Club committee you can use that avenue for input. If not, please let the staff know your ideas. The budget process is detailed in our by-laws and provides for multiple reviews including first by the finance committee which is composed of the Club Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Executive Vice-President with the General Manager sitting on the committee as an ex-officio non-voting member. After that review, the executive committee which is composed of the 6 Board of Director s officers reviews the budget followed by a review by the full Board. The by-laws specify that this process be completed by the November Board meeting; it takes several months for this process to be completed. Congratulations again this year to our Psycho Swim Team for another successful season Northern League Division I Champions and TSA second place! Our trophy case is bulging and overflowing! Our pool usage and guest attendance this summer through the latter part of July has been spectacular. The graph below tracking attendance for years 2015 through 2017, shows that 2017 has had an 11% increase in attendance over 2016 and 19% increase over 2015. We do know that our pool slide and new shade structure have had a great impact on this increase in usage. Please visit the pool and enjoy these 2 new additions. Pool Attendance through July 27 Year Attendance % Change from 2017 2017 25,673-2016 23,070 11 2015 21,590 19 It has been my pleasure to serve as your General Manager since November 2015. I am confident that the programs we implemented over the past 21 months, which greatly impacted, specifically our financial and operational management systems, have placed us in a solid position for an easier transition to a new manager. I appreciate your support and encouragement and know that you will be as accommodating with our new General Manager. Our new General Manager, James Ivankovich, will assume the role of General Manager effective 8.1.2017. Please welcome him and consider the Sunday 8.6.2017 I-440 beltline widening meeting at 3p and dinner that evening from 5p to 9p as an opportunity to meet James.
