NHC and IRC prizes will be raced for by those boats that the race committee can be reasonably satisfied have a current and equitable NHC number or rating. Race 12 includes Laser, Laser Radial, RS 200, RS 400, GP14 and Laser 2. Race 13 includes Laser 4.7, RS Feva, Mirror and Europe. The Ferry Service will run till late, or you may moor alongside the club pontoons, please do stay overnight.
RACE 1 TO 11 - SUPPLEMENTARY SAILING INSTRUCTIONS For General Sailing instructions please see: www.strangfordloughregattas.co.uk START LINE The line will be between the Flagpole at the Trasnagh Battery and an Orange buoy, Mark 0, which may be used as a mark of the course. COURSES Pass all black rock markers on the side furthest from the rock they mark, (see map). Marks on the chart attached will be used. All races will sail two rounds unless shortened. Each round shall be completed by passing between the Mark O and the Flagpole. Shortened Course: The Race Officer may shorten the course at any mark by flying Code Flag S alongside the relevant Race Number Code Flag to denote which Race is being shortened. Competitors of that race should return immediately to the finish and cross the line from the direction of the mark where the shortened course signal was made. Competitors in all other races should complete their full course, even though they may receive a sound signal at the end of round one. Marks Racing Marks 1 to 5 and Q, R & T are large yellow buoys. Marks A to M are fluorescent orange pipes. FINISH The finish line shall be between Mark O and the Flagpole on the Battery or as otherwise designated by the Race Officer. TIME LIMIT In classes 1, 2 and 3 any boat which has not finished by 17.00 hours shall be deemed to have retired. In all other classes any boat which has not finished by 16.45 hours shall be deemed to have retired. In the event of a class failing to finish a second round within the time limit, the timings at the end of the last completed round shall be taken as the result of the race for that class. PROTESTS Protests on the RYA form with 10 deposit must be lodged at the Race Office in the Clubhouse WITHIN one hour after the last boat has finished. Visiting crews are invited to the Clubhouse for tea after racing and for the evening s entertainment.
RACE 12 14 - SUPPLEMENTARY SAILING INSTRUCTIONS For General Sailing instructions please see: www.strangfordloughregattas.co.uk START LINE The line will be between a red and white striped pole on a Committee Boat flying a Blue Flag situated to the west of Trasnagh and an Outer Limit Mark, Mark 0, which may be used as a mark of the course. The Start Races will be started as follows: Warning Signal (Class Flag raised) 2 minutes to the start, Preparatory Signal (Flag P raised) 1 minute to the start, Starting Signal (Class Flag and Flag P removed). The warning signal for subsequent classes will be 1 minute after the start of the preceding class. COURSES The courses will be of the Olympic Triangle/Sausage format. All marks to Port. Marks will be pink buoys or yellow or black racing marks. Races 12 & 13 will sail 6 rounds of the following course: Start, 1, 3, 4, SF, 1, 4, SF. Race 14 (Toppers) will sail 6 rounds of the following course: Start, 2, 3, 4, SF, 2, 4, SF. Shortened Course: The Race Officer may shorten the course at any mark by flying Code Flag S alongside the relevant Race Number Code Flag to denote which Race is being shortened. FINISH The finish line shall be between Mark O and the Flagpole on the committee boat flying the blue flag or as otherwise indicated by the Race Officer. TIME LIMIT Any boat which has not finished by 1600 hours shall be deemed to have retired.
