This week beginning Wednesday night from 10:00 PM - Thursday morning the UPS planes went over every 5-15 minutes in the areas of Rodman, Creel Avenue, Algonquin Pkwy area. Many of these residents have chronic illnesses and are under the care of a physician and home health agency. However, strangely enough Thursday evening into Friday AM this did not occur nor did this occur Friday night into Saturday AM. Please explain this sudden change. Why is UPS flying over my house? I went over to the Non - other side and did not see anyone flying out on the other runway. Non- Non- NE None We live on the other side of the airport and we were calling about sound proofing houses. It is about 4:15 PM and we have UPS flying over the house. Before we get into p****** contest about this, why don't you look over to the other side and see how many are going out over there? Please document this. I'm thinking of buying a home in Parkway Village, near Preston and Eastern Parkway. The first couple times I looked at it, it was quiet, but last evening there were planes flying over about every 10 minutes around 5:00 PM. They were very loud for about 10 seconds, couldn't hear the person next to me talking. How often does this happen? Why is it again getting so loud over my house on Melford Avenue? It was bearable for awhile but now the planes are back. What changed? 1. indicates the Most Preferred runway configuration was being utilized at the time of the comment. I am unable to have a cook-out or sit on my porch because of the noise. I live in the Scottsdale subdivision off Newcut Road. The last two weeks there have been planes flying directly over our subdivision. I have lived in Scottsdale for 15 years and have never seen or heard that many planes fly directly over. This is an issue since the planes are flying all hours of the night one right after the other. My husband works a swing shift and he says it goes on during the day also when he is trying to sleep. These planes are loud enough that they drown out the TV. Trying to talk in your own home is a problem when the planes go over. Why has the flight patterns changed? Please Help! I live on Melford right off of Preston Hwy, and I am so tired of the planes over head. They fly at night when I get ready to go to bed. They fly over early in the morning. They fly so low that you can hear the whip of air they make after they fly over like a wwwwwwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippp, it is horrible. It scares my grand kids when they flyover. Heck I can wave at the pilots and see them wave back. I think I may put lights on my roof that says quite zone please. Then call the press. Please help. We are sick of it. This use to be a great neighborhood now its just a noise zone. We have noise makers in our upstairs bedroom so we can block out some of the noise, even then we can hear them. Heck next time they come over I will climb out on my roof and jump on, then maybe someone will notice. hehe. I don't know what is going on out there, but we need help in here. 1. indicates the Most Preferred runway configuration was being utilized at the time of the comment. The noise from the planes flying overhead on their way to Standiford Field is increasing almost daily. When they fly over I cannot hear my television nor can I hear anything on my telephone. When I am in my living room at night the lights on the planes make them appear to be coming right in my living room windows. Isn t there something that can be done? WITH ALL DUE RESPECT SOMETHING HAS CHANGED. The noise is terrible. They fly so low and hard and fast that it HURTS when they fly overhead. I suspect that the majority of traffic was being handled on the west runway and now they balanced out the two. Yesterday I was home most of the day and the planes never seemed to stop. I was relieved around bedtime then WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! A plane skimmed the treetops around 1:30 am and woke me. Will this ever end? Bring them in and out from the south. Use the west runway. Do something. Is there a maximum sound level or is it just some complicated formula that averages sound readings? Today and a few days ago a small plane seems to fly too low around this area. I would like to make a complaint about airport noise. Since April it seems like you are landing the UPS planes in from the north coming over town. Once upon a time it seemed like we had a lot of nights when we would not have planes coming in and they landed from the south. But at least since Derby or so it seems like it is nonstop. I could be wrong but it seems like an awful lot and it gets frustrating when you are trying to sleep. It is Sunday and it is about 5:55 PM and we have UPS planes going over our house. They are definitely going west. Give me a call tomorrow at 874-6523 and tell me what great winds there were causing them to go north. 1. indicates the Most Preferred runway configuration was being utilized at the time of the comment.
