Standings: GWN has been alone in fourth place in the IL South for the past 57 days they trail DUR (37-27) by 5.5 games, NOR (35-27) by 4.5 games and CHA (33-29) by 2.5 games. At Indianapolis: Gwinnett is 11-16 at Indianapolis since 2009, including 2-9 over the past three seasons the club last won a road series at Victory Field in 2009 (3-1 from 6/15-6/18). Quest for.500: Including last night s loss, the G-Braves are 0-4 in their last four attempts to get over the.500 mark, all occurring in the past eight days. Gwinnett has spent just one day with a winning record this season, at 3-2 following a 5-4 win vs. Norfolk on 4/13. Bullpen Falters in Walk-off Loss at Indy: The G-Braves entered the bottom of the sixth inning with a 3-0 lead, but Indianapolis scored four unanswered runs including the winning run in the ninth to earn a 4-3 win Current Road Trip (1-2) last night at Victory Field. Smith Sharp Again: LHP Greg Smith was perfect through 4.0 IP last night, fanning five of the 12 batters he faced (39 pitches/27 strikes)...he exited the game after his fifth-inning at-bat (SO). Smith is in the midst of a season-best 12.0-IP scoreless streak he hasn t allowed a run since the fourth inning on 6/3-G2 at Norfolk, when he yielded a solo HR to rehabbing Baltimore C Matt Wieters. Rotation > Relief: In six starts with Gwinnett, Smith is 1-2 with a 2.12 ERA (8 ER in 34.0 IP), a.213 BAA (27-for-127, 2 HR) and three quality starts.
