This evening, the club takes on the Angels in the first of three contests this weekend against their Southern California neighbors. Last week, the Angels took two of three from the Dodgers in Anaheim. Los Angeles is 8-3 in July, has been victorious in 35 of its last 51 contests since May 7 and has posted a 25-12 (.676) record since the beginning of June, which is the best winning percentage in the NL over that time. Utley has currently played in 1,907 games over the last 16 seasons for the Phillies (2003-15) and Dodgers (2015-18). The Southern California native has 1,880 career hits, 259 home runs and 1,025 RBI to go along with a career OPS of.825. Buehler did make a big league relief appearance on June 28 vs. the Cubs, but was placed back on the DL and made one rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on July 3 (3.0 IP, 2 H, R, BB, 5 K). On the season, Buehler has gone 4-2 with a 3.44 ERA (20 ER/52.1 IP) and has limited the opposition to a.222 average in 10 games (nine starts). Buehler has also struck out 54 batters against just 12 walks, while posting a 1.05 WHIP. Among NL starters who have logged at least 40.0 innings and not counting his relief appearance, he owns the best opponents OPS (.525, 1 st, MLB) in the league, while ranking sixth in WHIP and 12 th in opponents batting average. Buehler has been rock solid at Dodger Stadium this season, going 2-2 with a 2.87 ERA (10 ER/31.1 IP) and holding opposing hitters to a.195 average, while striking out 31 batters against just four walks in six games (five starts).
