2 WSHA News Rink Setup Rink set up began on October 1st. We hope to begin skating soon. Remember setting up the rink is a huge undertaking and all families are required to participate. Be sure to check in with Brad Hundt to count your hours. The more help we have the quicker we can have ice for our kids to skate on. A big thank you to Brad, and Mark Weilandt who have led this for many years. Frozen Tundra Squirt Tournament Our annual Squirt Tournament will be held on December 2-4. Tournament coordinators this year are Julie Baginski and Missy Schleppenbach. While the Squirt team primarily puts together the tournament, we do need additional volunteers for tasks such as concessions, scorekeeping, ice resurfacing, etc. This is a great way to enjoy some hockey and get in works hours. Please contact Julie or Missy to volunteer. Jbaginski26@gmail.com. missy1979@icloud.com This is our dream! If the West Salem school referendum passes, this will be reality!! FACE OFF 2016 This year s Face Off is this coming Friday October 14. Volunteers are still needed. If you haven t signed up please help fill in as needed at the event. A huge THANK YOU to the FACE OFF COMMITTEE for the time and effort you put into our largest fundraiser. Tim Jones, Scott Schumacher, Scott Mitchell, Jason Lassen, and numerous others put on a great event. Please consider volunteering for FACE OFF 2017. Concession Coordinator We thank Joanne Ledoux for staying on as our concession coordinator for another year. Joanne s children have since graduated into the high school program, but she has agreed to continue on for another year. We are looking for someone to apprentice with Joanne this year and be able to take over next year. Please contact anyone on the BOD if interested. Reffing Coordinator Heather and Dan Odenbach are returning as referee coordinators for another year. We are very grateful for all of their efforts in providing officials for our games. We are always looking for more officials. Please let anyone on the BOD if you have questions. Your Vote is Important!! The election on November 8 is a crucial date for the future of WSHA. On the ballot this year is a question to the voters for improvements to the West Salem School athletic facilities. Part of these improvements includes construction of a Multi Sports Complex that would include space for an indoor hockey rink. A big thank you to John Hammes and Kelly Cottrell who have spearheaded the campaign for this referendum! Please get out and do what you can for a wonderful sports complex for not only hockey but many other sports in West Salem.
