Below is a complete list of this week s rankings along with each school s average score from this season. 1. OKLAHOMA (350.817) 2. Penn State (350.767) 3. Illinois (349.533) 4. Stanford (345.767) 5. California (343.750) 6. Minnesota (343.667) 7. Ohio State (342.150) 8. Michigan (341.700) 9. Nebraska (337.483) 10. Temple (336.933) 11. Air Force (334.250) 12. Iowa (330.933) 13. UIC (327.233) 14. Navy (325.583) 15. Army (322.300) LAST TIME OUT The Sooners are coming off of an in-conference tri-meet against California and Stanford on Feb. 12, where they posted a 351.600 team total. Oklahoma won event titles on floor (59.500) and rings (60.300) while posting a season-high 57.500 on pommel horse. Junior Jake Dalton was second in the all-around (86.700) and took the floor title with a 15.600. OU dominated on floor exercise, as it clinched the top-four spots, including Alec Robin (14.800) taking second behind Dalton. FLOORING IT Oklahoma has proven to be a force on the floor exercise, ranked No. 1 in the nation in the event and winning the event title in each of its first four meets of the 2012 season. Led by 2011 NCAA floor champion Jake Dalton, the Sooners have posted a 59.500 or higher in the event in three of its four meets. OU s dominance on floor is nothing new to the world of college gymnastics. The Sooners have claimed the event title in 22 straight regular-season meets. The last opponent to out-score Oklahoma on floor was Minnesota on March 7, 2009. RUBIN NAMED MPSF CO-GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Freshman Jacoby Rubin was honored last week when he was named MPSF Co-Gymnast of the Week. Through six weeks of the season, an OU gymnast has been awarded MPSF Gymnast of the Week three times. Junior Chris Stehl claimed the honor after the Sooners victory at the season-opening Rocky Mountain Open and Dalton earned it the following week after OU s win over then-no. 2 Ohio State. YOUTH MOVEMENT With 10 freshmen on OU s 18-man roster, the Sooners are looking for their younger gymnasts to make a quick transition to collegiate competition. The young Sooners are doing just that. Four freshmen are ranked in the top 20 of at least one event in the GymInfo event rankings. Jacoby Rubin leads the way on high bar (8), pommel horse (13) and p-bars (13). Alec Robin is No. 14 on floor and No. 18 on vault, William Clement is tied for 15th on high bar and Michael Squires is tied for 18th on rings. LEGENDRE AND DALTON CONTINUE OLYMPIC PUSH Former Oklahoma gymnast Steven Legendre continued to make a name for himself in his pursuit of a spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team by taking second place in the all-around and claiming two event titles at the 2012 Winter Cup in Las Vegas. Due to his automatic qualification, 2011 Winter Cup Champion Dalton did not compete in his two strongest events, floor exercise and vault, which he won NCAA and USA titles in last season.

Williams has chosen senior Patrick Piscitelli, redshirt junior Troy Nitzky and junior Jake Dalton as Oklahoma s captains for the 2012 season. Piscitelli, a native of Charlotte, N.C., has posted solid scores for the Sooners on floor, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. In 2010, he claimed fifth place on rings at the MPSF Championships. Troy Nitzky was a 2011 All-American on rings after posting a 15.200 at the 2011 NCAA Championships. Nitzky has also contributed scores on pommel horse and parallel bars. Dalton, a seven-time All-American, claimed the floor and vault individual titles at the 2011 NCAA Championships. The junior is also a current member of the U.S. Senior National Team and competed alongside three former OU gymnasts at the 2011 World Championships, helping Team USA take third place. RETURNING ALL-AMERICANS Jake Dalton leads the returning Sooners with seven All-American honors in just two seasons of competition. The Reno, Nev., native earned All-America status on floor, vault, parallel bars and high bar in 2011 and all-around, floor and vault in 2010. In addition to Dalton s seven All-America honors, the Sooner lineup also returns junior Troy Nitzky, who earned All-American status on rings after posting a 15.200 at the 2011 NCAA Championships. CRIMSON, CREAM AND BLUE The U.S. Men s Gymnastics Team, which featured four current and former OU gymnasts in its six-man lineup, claimed third place in the team finals of the 2011 World Championships this past October in Tokyo, Japan. The United States bronze medal showing guaranteed it a berth in the team portion of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Oklahoma junior Jake Dalton and OU letterwinners Steven Legendre, Jonathan Horton and Alex Naddour were featured in the United States six-man World Championship lineup. OU letterwinner Chris Brooks was the team s one alternate. China won the team title with a total of 275.161 and Japan took silver with a 273.093, a mere 0.010 points ahead of Team USA s 273.083.
