February 2019 Congratulations are in order Congratulations to two of our association members. Carol Campling, a long time player at the Association (LMW), entered the Australian Seniors Tennis Players Hall of Fame in January. Carol, their first "Legend" has amassed a total of 20 ITF World Titles and 56 Australian Titles. Congratulations Carol on such a great record!! Robyn Castle, another long time player at the Association (currently MNL, LMW) was very deservedly awarded an honorary life membership of the Tennis Seniors Australia for her tireless efforts. Congratulations, Robyn! So many adult tennis players in our Association alone benefit from the contributions you continue to make at Tennis Seniors NSW, so thank you! Birthday Surprise A big happy birthday to two of our longtime members, Robyn Goldman (left) and Judy Liggins (right). Judy was born on Friday 13th and Robyn was born on the 19 th, January 1939. Players in the Tuesday Midweek Competition organised a small surprise party for the two ladies. Robyn and Judy were both very overwhelmed and appreciative. Gfhfghfkoverwhelmed and appreciative.

Please email us tourncomp@etdta.com with your details if you are interested. LMW Competition Entry forms for the new comp are now overdue. Please contact the pro-shop or Penny Ryan on 9899 7951 if you would still like to register a team. Saturday Junior Competitions The Term 1 Saturday Junior Competitions have now started. It s great to see increasing numbers participating in these competitions for Term 1. Congratulations to our Manager, Sandi Edwards and our Junior President, Peter Ni for all their efforts. A reminder for players: Please make sure you arrive on time each week to avoid being subject to a penalty. If players are sick or unable to attend on the day, it is up to that player to try and find a substitute. If bye players have been contacted and the division coordinator is unable to find a fill in, please only then contact Sandi or Peter. Did you know we had a ball machine?! Our ball machine is able to be used by any player hiring a court. For all players the cost is an additional $10 on top of court hire. It s a good quality ball machine with many functions to suit the type of practice you desire. To hire, bookings must be made over the phone. Call us on 9980 7957 for more information.

Volunteers needed We are hosting a tournament from Friday, 22 March to Monday, 25 March and are looking for volunteers! Helping hands are needed mainly for the BBQ and in the kitchen. If you have any time available over these four days, please contact Sandi Edwards, Manager (tennis@etdta.com) or Mary Baker, President (mary@brison.com.au). Council of Management Was one of your New Year resolutions to get more involved in your tennis Association???? We hope so!! Positions are still available on Council of Management this term. Remember we will also be seeking a successor for the Treasurer's position this coming October. Andy Kleiberg will step down after having served the Association for a couple of years. Maybe come forward as an Assistant Treasurer for a few months to see what is involved in the position. Anne Wallis will be remaining as the Bookkeeper, so any future Treasurer will be very ably assisted. Contact Mary Baker on 0421 049 850 or mary@brison.com.au. There are plenty of options to help out, even if you've got very limited time. Connect with us Find us on social media! Search for Pennant Hills Tennis Centre on Facebook, give us a like and a rating and you will go in the draw to win one hour free court hire. We ll also be posting regularly about upcoming events and special promotions that we have on offer. Connect with us today to avoid missing out! Old racquets needed Another reminder, if anyone has any old racquets they are not using anymore, we d love any donations to the pro-shop. We lend these to casuals and schools kids who play at the Centre. Adult and junior racquets welcome, in any condition. Returning balls The junior competitions currently use second hand balls. If you play in an adult competition and would like to donate the used balls back to the pro-shop, we d greatly appreciate it.
