Junior Lesson PROGRAM OBJECTIVES 1. Let kids have fun and enjoy themselves while learning to play golf. 2. Help junior golfers learn to play the game properly. This program not only teaches golf fundamentals, but also stresses the importance of golf etiquette, emotional self-control and adherence to the rules of golf. 3. Help kids continue in their personal development. Golf, perhaps more than any other sport, teaches kids the importance of self-confidence. Golf builds character. 4. Help develop not only better golfers, but also better people. What level of instruction? RED LEVEL 5-8 YEARS OLD RED LEVEL JUNIOR CAMP FOR AGES 5-8 (PRICE $140) is a five day, 2.5 hour per day camp teaching basic fundamentals with special emphasis on FUN! Instructors are careful to consider the stamina and skill levels of this age group. Golfers will be introduced to the PAR LEVEL LIFE SKILLS. WHITE LEVEL 9-12 YEARS OLD WHITE LEVEL CAMP FOR AGES 9-12 (PRICE $140) is a five day, 2.5 hour per day camp stressing the fundamentals of the grip, stance and swing. Golfers will continue to learn PAR LEVEL LIFE SKILLS such as Respecting Others and Managing your Emotions. Instruction will also include putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, rules and etiquette. BLUE LEVEL 13-16 YEARS OLD BLUE LEVEL JUNIOR GOLF SCHOOL FOR AGES 13-16 (PRICE $140) is a five day, 2.5 hour per day camp providing instruction in the short game, iron play, wood play, driving, ball flight, sand play, rules and etiquette. The PAR LEVEL LIFE SKILLS will also be part of this program. The following guideline is based primarily on a student s age and maturity. Spectators MUST stay in the rough or on the cart paths and 25 yards away from the players. 3. Spectators are NOT allowed to carry water, umbrellas, jackets, towels and food for the players. 4. Spectators are NOT allowed to give advice to the players. Players may be penalized for a violation. 5. Players shall NOT carry on conversations with spectators. This action could be construed as ADVICE. Players may be penalized for a violation. 6. The player is responsible for the actions of his/her spectators. Note: Spectators/parents may be allowed to assist in monitoring play. LEAGUE CARE FOR THE COURSE All players are expected to maintain the golf course by replacing divots, repairing ball marks, raking bunkers, etc. Any abuse to the course or other club facilities will result in immediate disqualification. LEAGUE RULES OF PLAY The 2006 USGA Rules shall govern all play. Local Rules will be supplied as needed. LEAGUE PLAYER CONDUCT LEAGUE RULES, VIOLATIONS & CHEATING Rules violations will be determined by the Professional Golf Staff and handled as prescribed by the USGA Rules of Golf. If you are suspected of cheating, measures will be taken to monitor your score during future participation. If a player suspects another of cheating or violating a rule of golf, the player should seek a rules official as soon as possible to handle the situation. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Cheating will result in immediate disqualification from the Junior Golf Program with no refund. 1. Smock s Junior Program trusts that its members will act on the ethical responsibility of notifying a rules official of any problems before spreading alleged violations and rumors. 2. Questions are more easily handled on site when all players are present than after the event has concluded and players have gone home. Any conduct which may be detrimental to our program or facilities will not be tolerated including: swearing, club throwing, or damage to the golf course or another player s belongings. The first such instance of any of these actions may result in a warning, a two shot penalty, or disqualification. Possession of alcohol or tobacco products, gambling, display of vulgar or abusive behavior will result in immediate disqualification. Multiple violations will result in dismissal from our junior programs. 8

Junior CHAMPIONSHIPS Thursday, July 27, 2006 Don t miss your chance to compete in this year s Junior Club Championship. Junior golfers of all ages will compete for awards and recognition for the holes played. After the completion of play, a cookout and awards ceremony follow. EVENT Stroke Play Championship by age division. Both Girls and Boys Junior Champions must complete 18 holes. ENTRY DEADLINE Tuesday July 11, 2006 PARTICIPATION INCLUDES Golf Tournament Lunch Winners Awards Junior ID card Player Participation Pins ELIGIBILITY The Junior Club Championship is open to all junior amateur golfers who have not reached their 18th birthday before Thursday, July 27th, 2006. Participants must be Indiana residents. All entrants are subject to approval by the Junior Golf Committee. PAIRINGS Pairings will be posted in the pro-shop, Tuesday, July 25, 2006. ENTRY FEE The $25.00 entry fee includes golf, lunch, and awards. CADDIES Caddies are not allowed. EXCEPTION:: Juniors 7,8 and 9 years of age. Pull carts may be used. WITHDRAWAL POLICY If an entrant withdraws prior to July 18, the full entry fee will be refunded. If an entrant withdraws on or after July 18, entry fees will not be refunded. Alternates not placed will be refunded the entire fee. FIELD LIMIT Field is limited to the first 144 entrants. Others will be placed on alternate list in order received. 11

Junior CHAMPIONSHIPS AGE HOLES AWARDS AWARDS Boys - Awards will be issued for the CHAMPION, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers of each age division. Sudden death playoff will take place to break a tie for 1st place (Champion). A score card playoff will take place for all other places. It will be determined by a hole-by-hole backup starting at the players last hole. Girls - Awards will be issued for the CHAMPION, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers at each age division. If you are suspected of cheating, measures will be taken to monitor your score during future participation. If a player suspects another of cheating or violating a rule of golf, the player should seek a rules official as soon as possible to handle the situation. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Cheating will result in immediate disqualification from the Junior Golf Program with no refund. 1. Smock s Junior Program trusts that its members will act on the ethical responsibility of notifying a rules official of any problems before spreading alleged violations and rumors. 2. Questions are more easily handled on site when all players are present than after the event has concluded and players have gone home.

US KIDS GOLF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS qualifier Registration for all 2006 World Championship Qualifiers will begin January 17, 2006. Golfers age 3 to12 can participate in this tournament. Registration is online only and costs $40 for nine hole players and $50 for eighteen hole players. 1) If you are not already a USKG Club member you must first become one to enter your World Championship Qualifier.
