All- Girl Club Cheerleading at NC State University Constitution Article I Article II Article III Name Purpose I II Membership I II V This organization shall be known as the All-Girl Cheerleading Club at NC State To promote the sport of competitive cheerleading. To improve the skills of its members through practice, instruction, and competition. The purpose of this organization will be to promote school spirit, cheerleading as a sport, compete at the local and national level. Eligibility Full time NC State student (12 hours) or graduate student (6 hours). In good standing with NC State. Must have an accumulative 2.0 GPA to compete. Selection Tryouts will be used to select athletes for the NC State All Girl Club Cheerleading. Tryouts will analyze tumbling, stunting, jumping, dancing, motions, coordination, appearance, endurance, and school spirit. Must fulfill tryout requirements, no exceptions. Failure to fulfill tryout requirements will result in not making the team. Tryouts will be conducted in both the end spring and beginning of fall semesters. Must attend tryouts or video tryout is required with an additional tryout. Active Membership An active member shall be present at all practices, required events (athletic and recreational), fundraisers, and community services. If an athlete misses 3 or more events without a valid excuse, will be at officer s discretion to remove. Valid excuses include, severe illness, family emergency, etc. We hold the same standards as NC State University for valid absences. Studying and work is not a valid excuse. Statement of Non-Discrimination Discrimination based upon race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation is in violation of federal and state law and NC State University policy, and will not be tolerated. (Article 1, Section 1.2, Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Policy Statement). Method of Dissolution By not complying with the constitution the majority of the executive team can terminate an athlete on the NC State All Girl Club Cheerleading as immediate as possible. The executive team may ask for assistance from coaches and advisor if needed. The executive team, coaches, or advisor will be responsible for telling the individual in a private meeting if they are removed. Coaches cannot terminate a member without the majority consent of the executive team. If a member quits,

they will not be reimbursed with fundraising money and sponsorships. The only reimbursement will be for Nationals fees if not selected for the team. Members must represent the club in a positive manor at all times, if not termination can occur. If you terminate your membership with the team by December 31, 2018, you are required to pay a cancellation fee to cover your costs incurred equaling $100. If you terminate your membership past December 31, 2018, you are then required to pay the full cost of Nationals to cover costs incurred (Price to determined based on NCA pricing). There are no exceptions. Article IV Executive Team Officer Positions Officer positions include: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, community service, fundraising, safety, and apparel/marketing/recruitment. All officers must attend all club sport events and participate in club paperwork. I II V Elections The executive team (officers) is elected each spring semester in April. Officers will assume office for their given time in school, unless they choose to step down or majority of board chooses to remove them. The only members allowed serve as president and vice president are returning members. Members will become officers on a volunteer basis, if there are multiple desires for a position a vote will be cast. Qualification of Officers The qualifications for officers in this organization shall be (NC State University requires officers of organizations to be enrolled as students at NC State University at the time of the election or appointment. Must not be on academic warning, academic suspension or academic probation as defined by the University at the time of election or appointment. Article 2, Section 2.2.1Registered Student Organizations: Regulation for Undergraduate Student Leadership, Membership, and Registration. Officer Removal Any officer may be removed from membership by a 2/3 vote of the Executive Board. Any officer removed may appeal to the general membership. Said officer shall be considered reinstated with 2/3 approvals of the members. Any vacancy, which may occur in an office, shall be filled by appointment by the president pending ratification at the next group business meeting. Duties of the President The president shall be the chief executive officer. Coordinate all activities of the organization. Liaison to the University community. Official representative of organization. Calls regular and special meetings. Presides at meetings. Prepares agenda for meetings. Handle team communication, through emails, phone, Facebook etc. Organize events. Enforce any discipline related problems/concerns.

I II III X Section X Duties of the Vice President Assumes duties of the president, when necessary. Will keep and have available current copies of the constitution and bylaws. Handle all correspondence with the club sports office. Assist community service activities and coordinates volunteers. Helps to maintain team communication. Next step below president, and should be contacted with issues before the president. Stands in for president when needed Duties of the Secretary Maintains accurate and current information of the organization and membership. Keeps accurate minutes of each meeting and forward copies to other officers. Keeps attendance records for meetings. Gets mail from Club sports office Collects all paperwork for all competitions Collects and keeps organize all necessary paperwork Makes sure all members paperwork is correct and eligible Duties of the Treasurer Shall maintain a current record of all financial transactions. Responsible for checking the accuracy of all bills/invoices and paying them correctly and on time. Responsible for dispensing of funds in accordance with the goals and programs established by organization. Collect fees and dues and required time from all members The treasure and the president are the ONLY members who have access to bank funds. Duties of Community Service officer Organize community service events Keep track of all members attendance and participation in community service events Attend club sports meetings Duties of Fundraising officer Plan fundraising events, with approval of 2/3 of executive board Everything must be communicated with vice president and president, before presentation. Keeps track of all fundraisers information s for future years and sponsorships

Section XI Duties of apparel/marketing/recruitment officer In charge of pricing, purchasing, and designing all apparel for the team Send apparel to the University for approval Make sure club is in good standing with Club Sports and the University Send updates to Club Sports In charge of getting the name of the club out to the community Team inquires must be sent to recruitment officer and the president Article V Coaches and Advisors Section 1 Advisors With discretion of executive officers, there may or may not be an NC State University faculty or staff advisors who shall be members ex officio with no voting privileges I II V I Selecting Advisors Advisors shall be selected by 2/3-membership vote Duties and Responsibilities of the Advisor In order to remain consistent in our mission to provide student development and student leadership opportunities, club advisors should restrict their involvement with the club to teaching and mentoring. Coaches Coaches are volunteers of the club and may or may not be paid by the individual clubs, as private organizations, but do not receive any funds from Campus Recreation or NC State University. Therefore, these individuals are not employees of Campus Recreation or NC State University. Selecting Coaches Individual club officers, not Campus Recreation or NC State University, are responsible for evaluating the certifications/qualifications of all coaches/instructors. It is up to the executive team who they want to coaches Coaches can fundraise but will not receive payment for personal use Coaches who are still in college must fundraise to pay their way to competitions Duties and Responsibilities of Coaches In order to remain consistent in our mission to provide student development and student leadership opportunities, club coaches should restrict their involvement with the club to teaching and coaching in practice and competition. Any involvement by club coaches in other areas of club management should be limited to an advisory and/or motivational role. Coaches are allowed to assist in club decisions, however do not have final say in any club decisions Executive board can override any requests made by coaches Coaches directed by executive board to handle competition check-in and status. Coaches do not have the right to extend practice time Coaches can suggest club decisions, meetings, etc as long as spoken to the board first.

Not coaches responsibility to turn in and paperwork or communicate with club sports Coaches communicate with president and vice president before acting Coaches get to choose who they want to make the team and tryouts for nationals, however must consult the president, vice president, and captains before final decisions are made. Article VI II Finances I II V Reasons for coaches removal If coaches do not fulfill and/or over step their boundaries they can be removed at any time with 2/3 majority vote from the executive team Coaches must treat all members with respect and follow the discrimination guidelines If coaches do not help promote or assist the club in moving forward towards their goals they can be removed. Revenue NC State All Girl Cheer Club at NC State will finance the activities it engages in by the following means: Dues Fundraising Sponsorship Hosting Events Club Sports Allocation Student Government Appropriation Dues Money is due by the date given on the calendar. For every practice it is late a $5 late fee will be enforced. It is encouraged for athletes of the team to solicit sponsors to help reduce the amount of dues they have to pay out of pocket. If failure to pay dues on time, members can be removed (because whole club will suffer) Other Fees All other fees must be paid at due date, if not will receive $5 late fee Budget NC State All Girl Cheer Club will submit a budget to the Club Sports at NC State on an annual basis and request funding appropriate to the effective operation of the organization for each year. Bank Statements Only students on the executive team are permitted to have access to the NC State all girl cheerleading Club off-site bank account at Wachovia Bank. All bank statements shall be sent to the NC state all girl cheerleading Club mailbox at: NC State All Girl Cheerleading Club at NC State Campus Box 8111 Raleigh, NC 27695-8111

Article VIII Article IX Registration Renewal Section 1 NC State All Girl Cheerleading Club will apply to the Student Organization Resource Center Office at NC State for registration on an annual basis one month after NC State All Girl Cheerleading Club elects new officers. Amending the Constitution and By-Laws Amendments to the constitution or by-laws shall be presented by members of the organization in writing and read at a regular practice informing members of the proposed amendments. The concern shall be presented, reasonable argument and support to the change, and a team discussion. A majority 2/3 votes of the members shall be required. Article X By-Laws I II V Policies and procedures will be approved by a majority vote of at least one half of the total membership and the Club Sports Assistant Director. A member exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct may be voted out of the club by a majority vote of at least one half the total membership and approved by the Club Sports Assistant Director. All club activities must be in compliance with the guidelines of NC State Campus Recreation and Club Sports. This constitution will be updated each year. Should the All Girl Cheerleading Club at NC State become inactive or disband and a new All-Girl cheerleading Club has not been formed within one year, all property of the club shall become the property of the Campus Recreation office.
