The 2015-2016 4-H year was a success here in White County and I expect that the new 4-H year will be even better! With that in mind, I would like to inform you all of an upcoming change to the White County 4-H program. It saddens me to tell all of you that September 30th will be my last day here in White County. My husband and I have made the decision to return to Wisconsin to be closer to our families. While I have greatly enjoyed my time here in White County and will miss all of you and the program dearly, we feel that this is the best move for us. The process has already begun to find a new 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator and hopefully the position can be filled quickly. In the meantime, any questions about the 4-H program should be directed to the Purdue Extension - White County Office at (219)984-5115. Feel free to also stop into the Extension Office, at 12 N. 25 E, in Reynolds, with any questions you might have. I wish you all the best here in White County and look forward to hearing about all of the great things this program and our members will accomplish! I know that you will all be as welcoming to the new 4-H Educator as you have been to me over the past two years. Sincerely, Project Changes 5. 4-H Yard Signs 6 Experience 4-H @ Purdue: Creepy Science 6 Candis Dart Extension Educator 4-H Youth Development https://extension.purdue.edu/white Upcoming Events and Workshops Re-enrolling in 4HOnline Instructions 6 7 PURDUE UNIVERSITY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE White County 12 N 25 E Reynolds, IN 47980-8091 (219) 984-5115 FAX: (219) 984-5147 Purdue University, Indiana Counties and U.S Department of Agriculture Cooperating An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Institution

If you already have a family profile, but need to add a new member, you will add them under the existing family profile (please do not create a new family profile in this situation). There is a $25 enrollment fee per 4-H member (grades 3-12), with a maximum of $75 per family. This fee includes the State 4-H program fee and helps to pay for Educational Materials and Events throughout the year. There is no cost for Mini 4-H (grades K-2). Check that the email, address, and phone number listed are correct. Be sure that the Emergency Contact listed is someone outside the home that we can contact when the parents cannot be reached. Club Leader information can be found on the Purdue Extension White County webpage. We understand that not everyone has access to the 4HOnline system. HIGHLIGHTS HAPPENING HERE AT HEADQUARTERS PAGE 4 Volunteer Information Anyone who wishes to work with the White County 4-H program needs to be an approved and enrolled White County 4-H Volunteer. All new volunteers will need to contact the White County Extension Office for information on how to complete the volunteer approval process. Volunteer Requirements: All returning 4-H volunteers need to re-enroll annually using the 4HOnline system. Beginning October 1st, volunteers should log into 4HOnline using the login email and password that was used when enrolled in 4HOnline last year. Please refer to the instructions included with this newsletter. All new volunteers need to have completed and submitted a volunteer application to the Extension Office. Once the application is approved, volunteers will receive communication from the Office explaining the next steps in the volunteer enrollment process. All volunteers must complete the online Youth Safety and Reporting Child Abuse Training course titled Operating Procedures for Programs Involving Minors. This short training course is required every 2 years and can be completed in 4HOnline or by coming into the Extension Office. Instructions for completing this training in 4HOnline can be found at: https://extension.purdue.edu/white/pages/article.aspx?intitemid=12526 It is essential that everyone who volunteers with 4-H completes the volunteer approval and enrollment process. This ensures that everyone agrees to the Adult Behavioral Policies, that volunteers are protected by the 4-H program insurance, and that our 4-H members are protected. Please help us to do what is best for everyone by completing all of the necessary volunteer requirements. If you are not sure if you have completed all of the required steps, please contact the Extension Office and we would be happy to help you! Thank you for volunteering with the White County 4-H Program. Without all of you, our program would not be nearly as successful!
