-State Championships are open to only SPPHASA members and registered horses. -Open Dressage competition is open to all no memberships or registrations are necessary. -All non SPPHASA, or EA, members will need to pay a $10 day membership fee. -Preparatory classes are walk/trot. Horses competing in SPPHASA Preparatory are not eligible to compete in Preliminary, Novice or Elementary. SPPHASA Horses actively competing in open ridden classes, are not eligible for the Preparatory classes. - Combinations competing in the SPPHASA Championships are welcome to compete in the Open Championships as well, paying the entry fees for both, but only competing in each test once, with the score from that test going towards both Championships. -To be eligible for a Championships, horses must compete in both tests of that level, with the same rider. Scores from both tests will be combined to determine the level Champion and Reserve.. Riders can opt to do an extra test, outside of the Championships, either of the same grade, or give one above a go. Horses are able to have a different rider for the extra test. Horses can only compete in a maximum of 3 tests per day Prizes: All tests: Ribbons and prizes to all placegetters. SPPHASA Championships: Champion Sash,Engraved PVC Halter + Cotton Rug Set Reserve Sash + Embroidered PVC Hay Bag (SPPHASA) Child/Junior Award to the most successful child rider of the day. Handmade plush horse toy. Open Championships: Champion Rosette and PVC Halter. Reserve Rosette and PVC Hay Bag. Entries close: June 3rd 2019 No Late Entries. Draw: All tests will be run by a draw, which will be released no later then 4 days prior to the day (Wednesday 12th June) Refunds: No refunds will be given unless a vet certificate or doctor s certificate is provided within 7 days, either side, of the competition. Numbers: All horses and riders must wear numbers, either on bridle, saddle or number holder. Dress Code/Presentation: Jacket, or SPPHASA polo. White, beige or cream jodhpurs/breeches. Riders under 18 must wear short boots. All riders must wear correct shoes, and approved helmets. Horses are expected to be plaited for the SPPHASA Championships. Callers: Test callers are allowed and are to be organised by the competitor. Scratching's: Please notify the committee of scratching's at the earliest convenience. 2019 DRESSAGE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY) 1. The lodging of any entry shall bind the exhibitor to the conditions of entry and the regulations set out here in and the signature of any exhibitor on the entry form shall constitute acceptance of these conditions. 2. SPPHASA Inc. Committee shall have the power without giving reason to: -Reject or cancel any entry at any time -Alter the program, the scheduled event or class start time/draw -Remove any exhibitor from the show grounds for displaying abuse towards their horse -Combine/split any classes 3. Horses competing in open ridden events are ineligible to compete in walk/trot events. Preparatory classes are walk/trot. 4. Points awarded towards the State High Points for the 2019 Dressage State Championships will be as follows: (Points are cumulative) - 1st place - 15 points - Champion - 25 points - 2nd place - 10 points - Reserve Champion - 15 points - 3rd place - 7 points - >40% - 15 points - 4th place - 5 points - 40-50% - 20 points - 5th place - 3 points - 50-60% - 25 points - 6th place - 2 points - <60% - 30 points 5. Placings will be given for all tests to 6th. 6. All Exhibits in the State Championships are to be registered with SPPHA, and All Exhibitors must be current financial members of SPPHA. The registration and membership numbers must be quoted on the entry form. Pending registrations and memberships are not acceptable. 7. All new registrations and memberships to SPPHASA Inc. must be received by the membership and registration officer by 31st April 2019, to ensure they are processed in time for close of entries. 8. Members of SPPHA outside of South Australia are required to send photocopies of membership and/or registration as proof of current membership. 9. EA Members must supply their membership number and scan of membership card with entries. 10. All Exhibits must be able to be identified by their brands and or markings in accordance with the Certificate of Registration. Altering the appearance of an exhibit such as change of coat colour or adding white markings is prohibited and may result in disqualification. 11. Stallions and Colts must only be handled, ridden, or driven by persons 18 years old, or over, and be fitted with correctly fitting headgear, and correctly fitting bit. Stallions and colts are to be double tied when tied to floats or trucks. 12. All mares, geldings and foals must wear correctly fitting headgear and be under control at all times. 13. Number holders are to be worn by all exhibits when competing. Numbers will be supplied in the competitor packs. 14. Any exhibit deemed as a kicker will be required to wear a red ribbon in their tail. 15. Please clean up manure and hay. Float areas must be left as exhibitors arrived, or will incur a $20 clean up fee. 16. No dogs are permitted onto the grounds. 17. SPPHASA Inc. will not be held responsible for loss of or damage or injury occasioned to any exhibitor or the property of any exhibitor for any cause what so ever. 18. The exhibitor and exhibits enter entirely at their own risk. In any case of an exhibit, whilst on the showgrounds causing or being the cause of injury or damage to any other exhibitor or exhibit, OR to the person or property of ANY member of SPPHASA Inc., its officers, officials and members from and against all damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities incurred with such an incident. The exhibitor shall be liable to SPPHASA Inc. its officers, officials and members for any damage or loss occasioned to any of them by the exhibit or exhibitors or agents. 19. When mounted or in the driving seat, all riders and drivers must wear properly fitted ASA approved helmets with chinstraps fastened in accordance with SPPHASA Risk Management Policy. Helmets are required to be less than 5 years old. 20. All handlers must wear closed footwear at all times. 21. Riders under the age of 18 years are not to wear long boots in any show class. 22. Horses must move at walking pace at all times when outside the exhibition ring or exercise area. 23. Hot weather policy applies. In accordance with Channel 9 news the Friday before the event, should the forecast be over 36 degrees, the event will be cancelled / postponed. Details of cancellation / postponement will be advertised on the SPPHASA website http:// www.spphasastbs.webs.com, Facebook page and myaushorse http://www.myaushorse.com/ on the weekend of the show. 24. Entry Fees (less $5 Admin Levy) will only be refunded upon production of a Veterinary or Doctor s Certificate verifying that an entered horse, or rider, is unfit to compete, within 7 days, either side of the competition. 27. SPPHASA Inc. reserves the right to test any exhibit to determine whether any drug or stimulant has been administered to such exhibit. SPPHASA shall not be liable for death, injury or damage, which may be sustained by an exhibit due to this test being carried out. Please note: Section 8.3 of the SPPHASA Rules of the Association (revised 2012) apply. 28. All prizes listed are not guaranteed and may change. 29. Horses must be bitted as per EA rules. 30. In all other instances not listed above, this event will be run under EA rules.
