Senior All Star Bowling Association Volume 14, Issue 26 November 1, 2004 OUT ON THE TWIG Inside this issue: The King is back! Ft. Worth Info Summerville Plano Foursome Info 4 2 Gary Dickinson out lasted Jimmy Young to win the Ebonite Senior Tour tournament at Oil Bowl in Longview. The King rolled a 191 to Young s 179 to nab the victory. Young stayed in second, Paul Martinez was third, Bob Glass; fourth and Mike Fleming finished fifth. Center owner Tra Autry put down one of the PBA shots which started out slick and required good shots. There were a ton of SW minus ones by many good bowlers. The condition allowed both sides to have a shot. We will be at Don Carter City View in Fort Worth thanksgiving week end. Dexter Shoes is sponsoring the event. Super Seniors and Seniors will have their own tournaments. See the enclosed info flyer for details. See ya on the cruise or in Fort Worth. Thirteen ladies gathered at Barron s in Longview for brunch interspersed with hysterical laughter. Our brief business meeting was interrupted when Nurse Peabody (Sondra Counts) received an emergency cal for Dr. B.S., O.B. (Brenda Park) What a hoot! I think the emergency was a dropped bal in the gutter, and the advice was take two aspirin and cal me in the morning or something like that. Everyone was laughing so loud I couldn t hear everything! Our hostess, Elvira with the Singing Hat (Lavela Roper) just did an outstanding job putting this event together. There was a prize for best costume won by Bag Lady (Peggy Brooks) who managed to colect $37 plus change and a peanut butter cracker in response to her cardboard sign which read Wil post bowling scores for food or money. Others who won prizes were That Little Devil (Elen Wal); The Scrapbook (Cyrila Carlisle); Nurse Peabody (Sondra Counts); Betty Boo (Betty Britton); Dr. B.S., O(ld). B(ag). (Brenda Park); and our hostess, Elvira with the Singing Hat (Lavela Roper). The door prize was won by that lucky Betty Boo Britton a beautiful Red Hat afghan. She was the envy of us all. Everyone had a good time, the food was delicious and we entertained not only ourselves, but everyone at the bowling center as well. It was so much fun, Lavella was put on notice that we definitely want to do this again next year. Red Hatters Have So Much Imagination!
