Minutes Volume 15 Issue 1 January 2015 Page 3 AGC BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES 12/9/2014 Meeting called to order at 7 PM by President Emmanuel Boyd. Present: Anthony, Artzer, Baker, Bonner, Boyd, Desmond, Hirsch, Mead, and Price. I. CALL TO ORDER Pledge of Allegiance II. AGENDA 12.09.14.a Motion to accept the agenda. III. MINUTES 12.09.14.b Motion to accept the minutes from the 11/11/2014 BOD meeting. IV. MEMBERS FORUM AGC Member, Bob Smith - We need to remind our members that there is a lost and found in the clubhouse. There are some really nice things in there. If you have lost something, please come in and check. Also a reminder to members that they need to pick up their steel cases when done shooting. Several steel cases for 7.62x39 were found in Berm 1. As a reminder, center-fire rifle use in berm 1 or 7 is prohibited. AGC Member, Joe Benskin - Several months ago it was brought up about using jacketed bullets on the Silhouette range. With the issues we are having on the silhouette range, I think this needs to remain a match exception so it is being controlled by the match director. V. OLD BUSINESS Range Schedule - AGC Secretary, Shirley Anthony - I passed out the proposed range schedule. Please take a couple of minutes to look it over. 12.09.14.c Motion to accept the calendar as written. Christmas Party - AGC Secretary, Shirley Anthony - Our Christmas Potluck is Saturday December 13th at high noon. We will set up the tables and chairs in the Education trailer so we have plenty of seating. BOD Offices Job Descriptions - AGC Secretary, Shirley Anthony - Two minor changes were requested. 12.09.14.d motion to accept the BOD Offices Job Description as proposed with the two minor changes. Maintenance - AGC 2nd VP, Dave Bonner - The siding was installed on the caretakers house. The final bill was $13,414.15. Finance Report - AGC Treasurer, Tom Desmond - In November our revenues were $20,978.23 and our expenses were $11,661.67; leaving a positive net change of $9,316.56. Our year to date investment gain is $12,671.51. Membership Renewal - AGC Administrative Assistant, Candy Nonnemacher - We have received almost 600 renewals. If a member has an e-mail address, I sent them an e-mail confirming that I had received their renewal. Replacement of Trap Person - AGC President, Emmanuel Boyd - We still need someone. We had a person volunteer, but you need a driver s license. Member Rules Changes - AGC 2nd VP, Dave Bonner - Rather than take hours to go over this in a BOD meeting, the Board will meet on Saturday January 31st at 9am in the Education trailer.
Minutes Continued Volume 15 Issue 1 January 2015 Page 4 VI. NEW BUSINESS Incident Report - AGC Chief Range Officer, Terry Humbargar - On November 26th, Chief Range Officer was on duty and cited AGC member John Steinmeyer for rule number 6 which states: Range officer commands are to be obeyed immediately. John was shooting a diamond target at 25 yards (on a target stand that was too high for that distance) with a scoped AR. I observed him fire three shots that hit approximately 3 feet from the top of the 100 yard impact berm. I went to him and asked which diamond he was shooting at. John said he was shooting at the top diamond. I asked him to shoot at the center diamond which would keep the rounds lower in the impact berm. The member was argumentative towards my command to shoot at another target. I then cited and informed him that he was suspended from club privileges until the next BOD meeting. No additional shots were fired and he did pack up his gear and leave. The majority of the board did not feel that there was a violation of club rules. A comment was made by AGC President, Emmanuel Boyd: We should not argue with our range officers as they are in place to protect the safety of the range. AGC/CRC State Match - AGC President, Emmanuel Boyd - I have a brochure stating that there will be a Silhouette State match in May. AGC member Scott Dahms will run the match. Scott explained that part of the match will be run at the AGC and the long range portion will be run at Colorado Rifle Club. In order to run the match, he will have to attend an RO class to become RO certified. 12.09.14.e Motion to approve the match to be run be Scott Dahms once he is RO qualified. VII. VIII. IX. BOD ROUNDTABLE RECESS EXECUTIVE SESSION X. ADJOURNMENT MOTION TO ADJOURN, SECONDED AND PASSED President s Message Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of the members of the Aurora Gun Club, our Administrative Assistant, Caretaker, Clubhouse Manager, Range Officers, and the Board of Directors. Thanks to everyone who worked on making the new ID card system and gate a part of our daily life. A big thank you to Shirley Anthony for organizing and cooking the meats for our annual Christmas potluck and to all who took part in the potluck and for the food you brought to share with your follow member. I hope everyone had a good time. Emmanuel Boyd AGC President Chief Range Officer s Message I would like to thank all of the range officers who have worked this year. You have all done a great job keeping our club safe and sound. I will be doing a range officer class after the first of the year for anyone who wants to get certified and help out. Also remember your range officer cards are good for only two years and you have to renew. I would be remiss if I did not also thank all of the members for following the club rules and keeping safety our number one priority. CRO Terry Humbargar
