EXTRA INNING OUTBURST: The Pirates capped off their comeback win last night with a seven-run 10th inning that broke a 5-5 tie with the Braves...It was the most runs scored by Pittsburgh in an extra inning game since May 25, 2007, when the Buccos plated eight runs against the Reds in the 10th inning at Great American Ball Park. AND FINALLY: Last night was the first time the Pirates hit three consecutive home runs in one inning since September 13, 2013, against the Cubs (Pedro Alvarez, Russell Martin and Garrett Jones)...The last time Pittsburgh hit three home runs in any inning came on July 1, 2015, at Detroit (Neil Walker, Starling Marte and Pedro Alvarez). ON BASE MACHINE: Adam Frazier reached base safely in each of his six plate appearances Wednesday after going 2-for-2 with a single, three-run homer and four walks...he became the first Pirate to reach base safely six times in a game since Neil Walker on August 12, 2012...Frazier s.547 OBP since coming off the disabled list since May 12 is tops in the Majors (Mike Trout is second with a.545 OBP). ERA MOVEMENT: Entering the action today, Ivan Nova ranks fourth among the National League leaders with a 2.63 ERA, trailing Clayton Kershaw (2.01), Mike Leake (2.03) and Lance Lynn (2.53)...Nova has been charged with two earned runs or less in five of his first nine starts while pitching at least 6.0 innings in all nine assignments...his 2.85 ERA since being acquired by the Pirates last year on 8/1 is the fourth-lowest in MLB behind Ervin Santana (2.27), Jon Lester (2.31) and Kyle Hendricks (2.36). BRINGING THE HEAT: Felipe Rivero has been charged with just two earned runs in his first 25 games (24.2ip - 0.73 ERA) while striking out 27 batters...rivero s 27 strikeouts entering today are tied for the second-most among all National League left-handed relievers along with Cincinnati s Wandy Peralta...The only National League southpaw reliever with more strikeouts is San Diego s Brad Hand (35).
