FROM THE DESK OF THE GENERALMANAGER Dear Membership, JOE CECI JCECI@HILLENDALECC.COM GENERAL MANAGER / COO It has been a busy month preparing for the season and finalizing some maintenance work around the Club. We have done extensive work in the pool snack bar, on the tennis courts, and in the kitchen, as well as other areas of the Club. We can t wait for you to see all these aesthetic and functional improvements around our facilities when we are fully open for the season. We have had many well-attended events in the Clubhouse this past month including Peter Luger Steak Night, A Trip Through Italy Dinner, and Pasta Night. We have also hosted many outside events at the Club that have gone very well and are helpful in creating a positive buzz in the area about our Club. The staff and members of the various committees have been working hard to plan great events for the upcoming month and beyond! Please take the time to read this newsletter to see all that we have to offer for each member of your family! As always, please remember to make reservations when you are coming to the Club to dine or for an event. Not only does it help us plan and staff for the event, but also we can provide you with the level of service we are all hoping for. Remember, we have multiple platforms for you to make reservations: 1) Call the Club at 410-592-8011. We now have a full time concierge named Nita. She is available to answer the phone when you call and respond to emails sent to the designated reservations email address. Her weekly hours are Tuesday - Wednesday 9:00-5:00 and Thursday - Saturday 12:00-8:00. 2) Email reservations@hillendalecc.com. This email address was created for the exclusive purpose of streamlining our reservation taking system. We use this email address for anything from dinner reservations to special event RSVPs. Additionally, when you make a reservation through the HCC Website or Clubster calendars a notification goes to this email address. As of now, we do not have the technological capabilities to accept regular dining reservations through the Website or Clubster (with the exception of special dinner events); we encourage you to use both of these systems online calendars that can accept reservations for all special events that are posted on the online calendars. Furthermore, the Club is now offering complimentary valet services Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. We are encouraging you to utilize this benefit when you come to the Club for dinner! We are thrilled Spring is officially here and we can t wait to have the Club busy with members eating, golfing, playing tennis, and soon, swimming! Of All The Hazards, Fear is the worst ~ Sam Snead Brandon Grecco, PGA Head Golf Professional

Members, G O L F H O U R S O F OPERATION *All hours are weather permitting. The golf shop will communicate any schedule changes. The Driving Range will close 30 minutes before sunset. The golf course will open at 11:00a.m. on Mondays, based on availability. See weekly Golf Forecast for details. You ve got to love this time of year. Days are getting longer, birds are chirping, trees start budding, and winter is behind us, hopefully. And when Mother Nature gets busy, we do as well. Everything done on the golf course is dictated by the weather. Luckily, March gave us some spring-like days where we were able to mow and aerate. We used a solid needle tine to punch holes in our putting greens. I know we all dislike aeration time, but there is nothing more important to our soil and turf. Later this month you will notice a slightly larger hole with sand incorporated into it. This allows water and air to move more freely throughout the putting green, which in turn gives us a stronger, healthier playing surface. Again, slightly disruptive, but essential. Good news is that with the warmer weather you will notice the green-up we are all looking forward to out on the golf course. In conjunction with our fertilizer regimen, it won t be long until they re fully healed. We appreciate your patience and understanding of these essential cultural practices because at the end of the day, the positives of these actions far outweigh the brief annoyance. Having said that, I would like to thank the entire maintenance crew for their hard work and dedication to Hillendale. It s not an easy job but, they make it look so. Recently, our mechanic, Gary Hanna, was appointed the Employee of the Month for his work not only on our side but for his help inside the clubhouse. Hats off to Mr. Hanna; we truly appreciate and depend on his work. Read on to learn more about Mr. Hanna. Here s to a healthy and happy spring. I later transitioned to a role with an electrical contractor, managing service vehicles and specialized equipment for over 10 years. I joined Hillendale in January 2012 and currently maintain and manage all golf course equipment. I also like working on special projects around the club with woodworking and metal fabrication. My interest in engines translates to my love for cars, particularly vintage American muscle cars. I enjoy spending time with my wife of over 40 years, Janice, my two adult children, Traci and Scott and his wife Jen. I look forward to becoming a grandfather in July. In my spare time, I also enjoy hunting and drag racing with my son.

TENNIS PROFESSIONAL NICOLE GRUNWALD DIRECTOR OF TENNIS NICOLE@HILLENDALECC.COM UPDATE Hello Tennis Fans, With spring here, there is much buzz and excitement in the air! Many thanks to our Grounds Superintendent, Travis, and his team who are working hard and helping to prepare our courts for its annual resurfacing, to take place in mid April (weather depending) along with a much needed face lift. Our gazebo has a wonderfully replaced new roof, and, thanks to your angel funds, an area has been cleared for a shed to house all of our tennis equipment! We will have beautiful new nets, windscreens, and benches along with many other exciting additions! As soon as the courts are open and playable we will hold all morning and weekend clinics unofficially. The spring clinic schedule and special pricing officially will start on May 1st. Before then, you can contact me or Pete for lessons or clinics to be conducted indoors to prepare for interclub. Please be sure to review the spring clinic schedule, pricing specials, and the schedule for various events taking place this summer. We look forward to having continued great participation, as well as a strong cheering section for your fellow members! Your instructional staff is eager to help you with your game and available for your tennis needs. In preparation for the season, if your racquet is four years or older, it s safe to say its time for an upgrade in technology. Also, remember to have your racquet re-strung each year, the same number of times you play per week for optimum performance. Demos, accessories, and restringing are available in the pro shop. Let us know how we can help. Thank you all for your generosity and ongoing support! I look forward to another great year and I hope to see all of you out on the courts!
