Registering For 4-H Starting this year, all 4-H members will be required to have an active profile in 4-H Connect in order to be considered a 4-H member In order to show an animal at the 2012 Calhoun County Fair, you must have an active profile on 4-H Connect 4-H Connect has a feature that will allow you to pay your $20 4-H dues using your credit/debit card High Point 4-H Individual Starting September 1st, Calhoun County 4-H Council will be featuring a high point individual contest. 4-Hers will be awarded points based upon their participation. The winner will be announced at 2013 Achievement Night and will receive $250.00 towards next year s project or a new pair of custom boots. Photography Starting in August, we will start up our county 4-H Photography Contest. Please email the pictures to CLSeely@ag.tamu.edu. The due date for these pictures will be August 28th. Roasters/Broilers Info Roaster and Broiler Exhibitors! Roasters will be coming in to the Extension Office on August 22nd at 4:00pm. Page 6 The theme for this month s contest will be Summer Vacation. So bust out those cameras and get to snapping some high quality photos. The winning photos will hang in the Extension Office as well as appear in the 4-H Newsletter. Broilers will be available for pick-up at the Extension Office at 4:00pm on September 5th. Breeding Sheep Show At the 2012 Calhoun County Fair, we will be holding a Breeding Sheep Show for all ewe lambs. This event will be sponsored by the 4-H and FFA. More information will be coming your way. Sheep exhibitors that are exhibiting a ewe lamb in the Market Show may also enter that same ewe lamb in the Breeding Sheep Show. Calling All Livestock Judgers!! Never Livestock Judged Before? Then there is no better time than the present to start! We will be having an organizational Livestock Judging Meeting on Monday September 4th at 6:30pm, parents are encouraged to attend. We will be discussing the Fall contest schedule as well as scheduling practice times.
