Thursday, May 14, 2015. Field events at 4:00 p.m., running prelims 4:30 p.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. Final scratches will be made at 3:15 p.m. in the football shed south of the pressbox. Please read carefully your IHSA Terms and Conditions regarding the substitute and replacement rules. Admission will be $5.00 per person (set by the IHSA). Athletes in uniform and participating in the sectional will be admitted free of charge. The school s entry form must be typed on the IHSA School Center Web site. The online Sectional Worksheet must be completed no later than noon on Monday preceding the sectional meet (May 11). It will serve as the school s list of eligible students. Each coach must take a completed copy of the online Sectional Worksheet to the Sectional Entry Meeting (be sure to print your school s copy before the deadline of completion passes). The seeding meeting will be held at on Tuesday, May 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Food and drinks will be provided. It is highly encouraged for the head coach (or another school representative) to attend the Sectional Seeding Meeting; however, attendance is NOT required. Coaches not in attendance should send documentation to support their entries to the tournament manager (Scott Daly) prior to the meeting. Coaches in attendance may choose to ask for any time or trial to be documented. If the submitting coach is not present and did not send the appropriate documentation, then the attending coaches may need to seed that athlete last. EVERY EFFORT MUST BE MADE TO SEED ALL ATHLETES FAIRLY. The track is an 8-lane, all-weather track, including the runways & surfaces for the field & events. It was resurfaced in the summer of 2014. The only spikes allowed are ¼ pyramid spikes. Relay teams are to use beanbags or tennis balls only, no tape marks will be allowed. We will furnish all starting blocks. Please
warm up on outside lanes. Have athletes report to the staging area at the southeast corner of the track at 2 nd /final call and be ready to go! Please note, we will be using Fully Automated Timing for this meet. POLE VAULT, SHOT & DISCUS TEAM CAMPS COACHES CONCESSIONS ORDER OF EVENTS TIME SCHEDULE INCLEMENT WEATHER All implements will be weighed and inspected in the multi-purpose shed starting at 3:00 pm. Please set up team camps outside of the track fence, not within the track area or football field. There are no locker rooms available so have the athletes dressed before they arrive. Coaches will NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE INFIELD OF THE TRACK once all field events have been completed and running events have started. All coaches and spectators must remain outside the fence that circles the track for both field and running events. The Rockridge Boosters sponsor an excellent concession stand. There are also Coaches will receive a complimentary meal ticket, which includes a sandwich, chips or candy, and a drink. The events will be run according to the IHSA Terms and Conditions with heats being determined by the number of entries. All field events will begin at 4:00 p.m. sharp. Preliminaries in the running events will begin at 4:30 p.m. Field event finals will follow the preliminaries. The final running events will begin at 6:00 p.m. The IHSA states the meet shall be run regardless of weather unless we have a safety hazard to competitors. All competitors and coaches must report to the Sectional Meet at the set time even if there is inclement weather. If the meet needs to be postponed due to inclement weather, the make-up date will be Friday, May 15, 2015. SCORING Both relays and individual events will be scored: 10-8-6-4-2-1. Fully Automated Timing will be used at Rockridge. AWARDS We will place all awards in an envelope for each school and at the end of the meet or your final event of the evening, the coach may pick them up at the base of the press box. Awards will be medals for the first six places. The IHSA plaque will be presented immediately following the last event when the winner is determined. (measure) Per IHSA regulations, All schools participating in the sectional meets are required to make available to the sectional host, one qualified volunteer to be assigned by the sectional host to work the meet. If your school cannot provide a volunteer, then a coach from your school s team must serve as the volunteer. Prior to the start of the field events, the volunteers from each school may exchange duties within their particular assigned events, but please refrain from exchanging field events once the meet starts.
