Your local chapter of the LPGA Amateurs Waterloo Region is primarily organized by a group of 11 wonderful volunteers. In fact, we currently have an opening for someone to organize weekend events for our members. COMMUNICATION TRANSITION FROM EWGA TO LPGA AMATEURS DID YOU KNOW THERE IS AN IN- TERNATIONAL WOMEN S GOLF DAY? This year it is Tuesday June 4th, which is a league night for us. Your Board will plan something special for that night, so mark your calendars and come out to play at Doon, to celebrate all girls and women playing golf and learning skills around the world. Your Canada Board and your Chapter Board have been working very hard behind the scenes on the transition from EWGA to LPGA Amateurs. You will have been told about this change last year and may wonder why you still see an ewga.ca website, emails and other references to EWGA. When the U.S. chapters transitioned they were all done last year with the help of the American Headquarters, however Canada is different because we have a license agreement with U.S. Headquarters and that license agreement had to be changed, and then reviewed by our Canadian lawyers, before we could begin our transition. This has been completed and the agreement signed, so the transition to LPGA Amateurs began in January. We not only have a new chapter name and logo but new colours, and we are changing some of the tools that we use for communication. Please make sure you accept LPGA Amateurs Waterloo Region as not spam when you receive an email, or go to look for it in your spam folder if you feel you have missed something. Our current website address is still an ewga-waterlooregion address, however this will change in the coming month or two, as will the emails that will reflect a from address that will reflect LPGAAmateurs. Please bear with us as we complete this change in both look, and new technology tools to better serve our membership. NEWSLETTER AND E-MAILS As you read this Newsletter I will remind you that this is a Communication from your chapter Waterloo Region. The Waggle is produced by your Canada Association Headquarters, it often contains a bit of your chapter news, but it also allows you to hear from the other Canadian chapters, and items of interest to all members from our Canadian Association Headquarters. You may also receive some emails from the U.S. Headquarters with information that pertains to all LPGA Amateur members. 4
NEW BAG TAGS AND A MEMBER GIFT With the change to LPGA Amateurs you will be receiving a new bag tag, new membership cards will be coming, and there is a member gift as well. For those attending the Spring Kick-off they will receive their bag tag and member gift. For those that can not attend, your items above will be available to you on league nights. Have you moved or changed e-mail address? Please remember to update your profile on the website so that we have current information for you. NEEDED Please consider offering some of your time to support your chapter this year. We are hosting up to 90 golfers from both Canadian and U.S. Chapters and we need the help of some volunteers. See story page 3. 5
