Demo Day Date: Friday, May 1st Time: 3:00pm-7:00pm Upcoming Golf Events This year, each company will be bringing their launch monitors to specifically fit any members with equipment. Appointments must be made in advance and each appointment will be a half-hour in length between the hours of 3:00pm-7:00pm. Please make an appointment only if you are interested in making a purchase. Demo equipment will still be available to try if you do not wish to make an appointment. Your Professional Golf Staff will be on hand to assist with any questions you may have. Don't miss out! Mark your calendars for this overwhelmingly popular event. Appointments will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Opening Day Date: Saturday, May 9th Time: 9:00am 9-Hole shotgun for the Women, 11:30am 18-Hole shotgun for the Men Format: 3-person scramble for the Women, 40 total net balls for the Men Fee: $35 per player for Women, $65 per player for Men and includes golf cart, lunch during the round, and prizes. The Women will ease into the season by playing a 9-Hole 3-person scramble, which is a great format to start our tournament season. Men's teams will be determined by a blind draw by ABCD. Once the sign-up closes, all players will be divided into ABCD flights by handicap. Teams will then be selected by drawing names from each flight. During the round, each team must select how many balls to count towards their 40 net best balls after each hole played. Each team must have at least 1 ball remaining for the last hole. Scoring will be in relation to par. This is always a heavily attended event and a great way to play with Members you may not know. Spring Men s Stag Date: Friday, May 15th Time: 1:00pm shotgun Format: Better ball of partners Fee: $200 per team, $125 for each additional guest The Spring Men's Stag is a great way to showcase your club to clients, associates, friends, and family in a one-day event. The day will start with lunch at 11:30am before the shotgun start at 1:00pm. The format for the event is a better ball of partners. Members may bring up to 3 guests and form a 2-man team with each guest. Each player will receive 90% of their Black tee course handicap. Guests without handicaps are welcome to play. Non-handicapped guests will be given a handicap using the Peoria system, and there will be a separate flight for all Peoria teams. Dinner will be served after the round where the winning teams will be announced. All winnings will be paid out in Golf Shop credit. The Golf Shop will open following dinner.

Message from the Golf Pro - Ryan Buckland 630-943-4010 rbuckland@eaglebrookclub.com PGA Junior League Golf For the first year, Eagle Brook Country Club will be participating in the PGA Junior League. The team will consist of boys and girls ages 9-13. Any junior golfer with a birthday between July 31, 2001 and April 1, 2006 are eligible to play. Eagle Brook's team will compete against Elgin Country Club, Bowes Creek, and The Highlands of Elgin. We will play a home and away match against each team. The format will be a two-person scramble match. Eagle Brook's team will have several practices before and during the season with focus on rules, etiquette, course management, scramble strategy, and group lessons. The cost of the league will be $200.00 per player. This cost will cover team jerseys, bag tags, professional training, end of the year pizza party, and a participation plaque. A key part of the success of this league will be our parent involvement. We must have 2 parents at each match to walk, or drive a cart with the groups. Our schedule for the PGA Junior League is as follows: Sunday, June 7th: Practice at Eagle Brook, 1-2pm Sunday, June 14th: Practice at Eagle Brook, 1-2pm Monday, June 22nd: Home match vs. The Highlands of Elgin, tee times at 1pm Sunday, June 28th: Away match at Bowes Creek, tee times at 4:30pm Wednesday, July 1st: Home match vs. Bowes Creek, tee times at 3:30pm Tuesday, July 7th: Practice at Eagle Brook, 1-2pm Tuesday, July 14th: Away match at The Highlands of Elgin, tee times at 1:30pm Wednesday, July 15th: Practice at Eagle Brook, 1-2pm Saturday, July 18th: Away match at Elgin Country Club, tee times at 2:30pm Monday, July 27th: Home match vs. Elgin Country Club, tee times at 1pm Practice sessions will be geared towards learning the scramble format, etiquette, sportsmanship, and some instruction on the swing itself. Sign up for the PGA Junior League is open and will close on May 17th. To sign up, please email rbuckland@eaglebrookclub.com or call the Golf Shop before May 17th. Please include your child's birthdate when you sign up. The team will be limited to 20 juniors, but only 12 juniors will be able to play in a match. If enough juniors sign up this year, we will potentially have multiple teams next year. If we have more than 12 kids sign up, priority will be given to the oldest kids first because of the limited eligibility of the older children. If you have any questions or concerns please reply to this email or call the Golf Shop (630) 943-4010. 11

Message from the Membership Director - Derek Weber 630.943.4013 dweber@eaglebrookclub.com From the Membership Desk I would like to take a moment to talk about Membership at Eagle Brook Country Club. Our Membership Enrollment Philosophy stems from true Country Club Traditions.. Friends inviting friends. With this practice our Clubs Membership rosters will be filled with a cohesive group of people sharing similar interests, backgrounds and lifestyles. Each Member has the opportunity to sponsor a friend, co-worker or family Member into Membership. An Invitation to consider Membership is received by the candidate and a warm, welcoming enrollment process begins to take effect with the Sponsor being involved. Once the candidate becomes a Member, they will receive an Invitation to give to a friend to consider membership, thus the Membership by Invitation continues. Message from the Superintendent - Craig Kight 630-208-0211 ckight@eaglebrookclub.com Craig Kight I grew up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and started in the golf industry at a very young age, next to my older brother and Grandfather. During that time I decided being a superintendent was my dream. I know kind of crazy, but what a great position. Getting to see all the faces of members and guests, the sun rising and setting each day, I could not picture a better career for myself. I had the honor of meeting my wonderful wife Heidi in 2004, while working at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont. Since then, I had the privilege of working as a course superintendent throughout this great country. I worked at Taos Country Club in Taos, NM, Mill Creek here in Geneva, back to Ruffled Feathers for a few years, to the Hamlet Club in Commack, NY and now finally back to what we as a family consider home. I look forward to meeting all of you over the next couple of months. Sincerely, Craig Kight 10

Message from the Superintendent - Craig Kight 630-208-0211 ckight@eaglebrookclub.com As our weather sloooowly warms up, turf conditions are starting to improve on a daily basis. Recovery from winter this season looks very minimal so far. With all the great stuff that is happening at Eagle Brook CC, it is always a pleasure to recognize Greg and the work he has done over the previous 20 years. After meeting many great members in the past 2 weeks, the main topic of discussion has been green aerification. Due to the late start we are having, along with cooler than expected soil temperatures, we will elect to solid tine the putting surfaces this spring instead of the normal core aerification that usually happens in the spring and fall. With the solid tine method, we will top-dress and roll immediately following, which in turn should provide us with a solid and consistent putting surface for the following weekend. I am very excited to have the privilege of being your course superintendent, and fill the huge shoes that Greg has left. There are many goals that each of us set up when starting a new position and we have those goals as well. One of our main focuses this season as a management team will be to communicate with you, the members that take pride in Eagle Brook. With that, please pay attention to the weekly emails as we are starting an Eagle Brook Turf blog. This blog will keep members updated on course conditions, projects such as aerification, and other little helpful items. Sincerely, Craig Kight 10

Message from the Pool Manager - Mary Keyzer 630.208.5949 Hello, my name is Mary Keyzer. I am very excited to be the pool manager this year at Eagle Brook Country Club. Working at a pool and organizing aquatic events is nothing new to me. I have been in the pool industry in some capacity for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Southern Florida, I was swimming before I could walk. As a teen, I became a YMCA certified swim instructor and lifeguard, and carried that job until I was hired as a teacher at Geneva High School. Later, I went back into aquatics by running the lifeguard training and swim programs at Sunset Pool, and currently coach the Geneva High School swimmers. Funny enough, I even met my husband at the pool. A real summer love story come true. I love the water and everything about it. I feel that pools are the perfect family place. I hope to make Eagle Brook Pool a place where its members feel at home and relaxed. As pool manager, I feel it is my duty to make sure the staff is up to par in life saving skills and can keep the pool area as safe and well organized as possible. I also hope to bring that same organization to the swim programs at the club. My goal is to teach the youth to swim fast and enjoy a competitive sport, that will gain the enjoyment of swimming that will last a life time! Overall, I look forward to meeting the families at Eagle Brook and being part of a great organization that prides itself on lasting relationships and long term memberships.
