SIDES "SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 7. Why not? We re just goofing. People are going to think we re dating again. Would that be so terrible? We talked about this. It s my first time producing a film and I don t want any distractions. (smiles) So you find me distracting? Delete the photo, Vince. He hits a button on his screen. (CONT D) Thank you. I ll see you on Monday. She walks away from him and he checks his phone - he didn t delete it of course. He smiles and walks away. SCENE 1 EXT. HOMESTEAD STREET - AFTERNOON Homestead is one of those perfect small American towns, with tree-lined streets, well-maintained buildings, and wide sidewalks. Matt, Zoe, and Sophie are walking toward the square along with a lot of other townsfolk. Who else is in the movie? ZOE Vince Hunter! The action star? Matt, how do you not know this? I don t have time for celebrity stuff. I m busy raising a kid and running the inn and being mayor. But they re staying at our inn. You should know everything about them!

"SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 8. I don t know everything about any of our other guests. Dad, if you embarrass me in front of the movie stars... ZOE Don't worry Sophie, I'll make sure he doesn't do anything dumb. Are there dragons in the movie they re doing here? (shakes her head) I just can't. ZOE No dragons. It's about a movie star who goes back to her small hometown and learns the true meaning of Christmas. It's total Oscar bait. It's what? Dad, you need to get out more. Matt can't help but smile at that remark. EXT. STUDIO LOT - DAY Jessica, Barbara, and Rosalie walk through the bustling studio lot. GAVIN WILLIAMS, Jessica's thirtysomething mountain of a bodyguard is walking behind them, silently. Gavin nods. We fly out tomorrow morning. Gavin, we have ground transportation? BARBARA (to Jessica) You re going tomorrow?

"SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 21. INT. INN LOBBY - DAY A woman, presumably Ella, is behind the desk and Sophie is back engrossed in the movie - so engrossed that she doesn t notice when the front door opens and Jessica, Gavin, and Rosalie enter. They walk up to the front desk. Hi. Checking in. There should be three rooms for us - Rosalie Everett, Gavin Williams, and Diana Prince. Diana Prince? Wonder Woman s alter ego. I like it. A roar of a dragon and Jessica s voice comes from the tablet that Sophie is watching the movie on. (O.S.) (CONT D) Stand back! SCENE 2 Jessica hears this and turns, seeing Sophie sitting in the chair. She walks over to her and stands there for a moment. START (CONT D) What are you watching? Asterlight: Dragon Wars. Is it any good? (shrugs) It s not the best one. The Dark Forest is so much better, but... She finally looks up and stops dead in her tracks. Her eyes get wide and she stands up. (CONT D) Oh man. Oh man! Oh wow. Oh man! Hi.

"SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 22. Hi. I m Sophie Lawrence! Hi Sophie. I m Jessica. I know! I ve seen all your movies. Well, not all of them. My dad wouldn t let me see Passionate Hearts because of the kissing, but I ve seen all the Asterlight movies like a billion times. A billion? That s a lot. I can t believe it s really you! I can t believe it sometimes either. So are you staying here? No, I live here. Well, next door. Here! Let me show you. She grabs Jessica by the hand and drags her toward the front door. Jessica plays along. EXT. INN MAIN DRIVEWAY - DAY Sophie pulls Jessica outside while Rosalie and Gavin follow. Sophie points at the owner s quarters next door. See? Right over there. Do your parents own the inn? My dad does. Wanna see my room? Matt comes up, carrying the pies and stops Sophie from going any further. Sophie, we talked about not bothering the guests. And where s your coat?

"SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 26. ACT TWO EXT. TOWN SQUARE - DAY It s a beautiful morning in Homestead and the movie crew is hard at work in the town square, hustling to and fro with equipment. EXT. HOMESTEAD INN - DAY - ESTABLISHING SCENE 3 INT. INN LOBBY - DAY Gavin comes down the stairs but just before he gets to the bottom, Sophie comes out and stops him in his tracks. Hi Gavin! GAVIN (beat - stoic) Hello. You re Jessica s bodyguard, right? Because, I think I should get a bodyguard. I mean it s not like I have crazy fans, but I bet it would make Hailey Shephard so jealous. She thinks she s special because she has a horse but I d be all, big deal, I have a bodyguard. Gavin looks around for someone to help him out of this. Gavin is trapped. (CONT D) Not all the time. Just like for school and when I go to my piano lessons. Do you think Jessica would mind if I borrowed you? INT. S HOTEL ROOM - DAY Jessica is finishing getting dressed when there s a knock on her door. Jessica opens it and lets Rosalie in. Are you ready?

"SHOOTING CHRISTMAS" 53. The people that run the inn. You know. Zoe and Sophie... And Matt. Yes. Matt. Okay. Another night then. Vince is obviously not happy about this turn of events. SCENE 4 EXT. INN MAIN DRIVEWAY - NIGHT Horse drawn carriages dressed up as sleighs line the inn s driveway. Matt, Sophie, and Jessica are waiting for a turn. Hey Jessica. Did you know that Hailey Shephard - this girl in my class - she has a horse. I did not know that. We re not getting a horse. Of course not! That would just be copying. We need something special. Like a zebra. A zebra would be special. We re not getting a zebra, either. Jessica and Matt smile at one another as the next empty sleigh pulls up. They all climb aboard. Matt and Jessica take the bench seat while Sophie goes near the driver to look out the front. (CONT D) Here we go! The carriage pulls away from the inn. As they do, Vince steps out from the porch and watches them go. He looks a little sad to see her with Matt.
