SWAP SHEET Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association October 2017 Fall Blanket Shoot Results March 2018 Frost On The Cactus Shoot Swap Sheet President s Column Want to thank the following for their donations for the prize table in Oct. Marvin Brandt for equipment and supplies, Ralph Miller for a case of powder, Schuetzen Powder for powder. Also, thanks to those who donated to the auction and to Ben and Meredith Taylor for donating the dove hunt which raise $400. Mike Cook passes away After a long illness Mike Cook passed away in November. Mike was a member since 1981, won the State Championship twice and holds the record score for the Resley Benchrest agg. In later years Mike had taken up shotgun shooting and participated in both Brady and Friendship. Mike s presence will be missed. Special Schuetzen match Tom Compton won the powder barrel donated by Tambi Dudley and Schuetzen Powder. The match was a reentry target with 5 shots offhand with a string measure. Congratulations to Tom and thanks to Schuetzen for their donation. Bob Mims continues to shoot well. Now in his 90 s Bob Mims won the light bench agg with a score of 130 2X. I believe that Bob is our senior competitor followed closely by Charlie Greenway. Keep it up Bob. That s all for now. See you in March. Andy Work day March 8th We are planning a work day in March on Thursday prior to the shoot. Our goal will be to uncover the 100-yard line target supports. Over the years the pipes have been covered by sand. Bring rakes, shovels and maybe a hoe. Once we find the pipes we will determine what then needs to be done.

I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year, this year seems to by flying by already. As most people know most officers extended out for an extra year due to the lack of volunteers for new positions. I would like to encourage everyone to give back to the club in a small amount of time. I know everyone is busy and has a lot going on, but we need to make sure members are participating in the club by not only shooting but by also volunteering for officer and board of director s positions. It would be a great help to the club, so we don t have the same few changing positions and getting burnt out. If anyone has any questions about a position, please get with any of the current officers. I hope to see everyone out for the March shoot. Chris Ayers
