FISHING is not allowed anywhere on the golf course, at any time Golf Course Frost Delay Policy One of the challenges of the winter season is FROST. Frost on the greens will require the course to remain closed until the course warms enough to melt the frost. Frost in an indication that the grass blades are frozen, and should not be walked on, mowed, or drove on until the frost is gone. If we mow or drive on the grass before the frost melts, the grass blades will break off, leaving the grass dead. With our golf course being down in the valley, we generally see a larger drop in temperature than what is displayed by the nearest weather station. The maintenance staff will do the best to start play as soon as possible, but not at the risk of harming any turf. At an air temperature of 35 degrees, it is safe for the crew to begin their course setup on areas without visible frost. There may be times when we use irrigation water to melt frost, but this is a practice seldom used due to the addition of unneeded moisture to areas on the course. We will see shaded areas hold onto frost even after an air temperature well above freezing, especially on Hole #1. If frost closes the course, NO ONE WILL LOSE THEIR TEE TIME. The tee sheet will be conducted in order of the original tee times booked. The Golf Course Superintendent, or his assistant, will make the decision as to when the course is officially ready for play, depending on the soil temperature. Please contact the Golf Shop for updates. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION, UNDERSTANDING, AND PATIENCE. 11
