Newsletter Volume 42 - Issue 6 June, 2008 Officers: President............ Monte Rans 620-327-2711 Vice President...... Jack Crossman 316-542-9937 Secretary....... Marsha Battaglear 316-721-1166 Treasurer............. Randy King 316-729-8079 Message from the Prez... Where has May gone, time sure flies when you are having fun. A reputable source tells me the drive and eat was fun as usual. It sounded like there was a good turn out and the food was delightful. Thanks to Gary and Joan for setting this up. For us first timers, Texas was all it was suggested and then some. For a few of us that managed to squeeze in an extra bonus there just was not enough time to enjoy all the events available to do. But what a rush driving around the Texas Motor Speedway even thought the pace cars were governed way to slow. And how often do you see a 3½ mile line of corvettes on parade, what a sight. As we start into June don t forget our upcoming events. Lake Afton s All Wheels Day on the 8th, the Life Center show in Andover on the 14th, the Fathers Day Officer at Large.........Linn Smith 316-806-8004 N.C.C.C. Governor...... Gary Jones 316-946-9320 Newsletter Editor...... Kent Michael 316-682-4403 ACCC s Web Page.. http://aircapitalcorvetteclub.com show at the Zoo on the 15th, and our club photo shoot at the Benton air show on the 21st. We would like to have all members available for this picture. This will give us a great photo to place on the web site and be available to send to blue bars or other publications to promote ACCC. I am told there will also be a barbecue dinner available to all that are there. We will discuss this at the meeting so if you have any questions please bring them to the meeting. Also, the NCCC convention starts on the 21st and runs through the 27th. This is a great opportunity to see the NCCC in operation. See you at the meeting Monte Page 1

June, 2008 Volume 42 - Issue 6 Minutes from the May 7, 2008 ACCC Meeting The meeting was called to order by President Monte Rans at Don Hattan Chevrolet. We welcomed guest Steve Lawler who was a guest of Dave Snodgrass. He currently has a Mustang but wants to get a Corvette. We also welcomed new members Steve Jacobs and his wife Rhonda Lauderman who have a silver 04 coupe. The minutes were approved as published. Vice President Jack Crossman had nothing to report. Treasurer Randy King reported that the checking account has a current balance of $1156.86 and Savings is $1319.88. Secretary Marsha Battaglear had nothing. Officer-at-Large Lin Smith reported the points race has Kevin Mansfield in 1st, Kent Michael in 2nd, Lin & Randy Smith and Doug & Mary Mehl tied for 3rd, Mike McKee, Monte Rans and Barry Hoofer split for 4th and Dale & Barbara Brotton in 5th. Governor Gary Jones reported that all memberships have been sent in as well as the Corporation Annual Report. He also shared dates and times for shows in May. The Lone Star Corvette Classic 16th -18th, Kingman, KS 17th, Amarillo TX 24th, Las Vegas and OKC Race fever 23rd -25th. June shows are Norman Ok 6th -7th, Ponca City OK 7th, NCCC 21st -27th and Black Hills. See Gary for more details. Old Business Marsha handed out the new denim club shirts and showed a sample of a possible new red shirt. Members voted to adopt that shirt. The shirt is silk-touch and it comes in both men and women s cut. A list was sent around for members to order. Kent will send out the information for members not in attendance. Marsha reported that any shirt or item can be taken in to Flying Colors for a logo to be put on. Cost of the new logo is $7.50 and a name would cost $2.00. Monte asked if the club was interested in doing a car show at Exploration Place. There was no interest. Those members going to the Lone Star Classic will caravan from 47th & Broadway at noon on Thursday. The Breakfast Drive& Eat list was circulated: August Gary & Betty Henderson, Sept. Doug & Mary Mehl, Oct. Jerry & Pat Johnson - all other months are open. Rex Corbin invited the club to the Boy Scouts fund raiser Fly-In at the Benton Airport. June 21st. The breakfast is at 8:00 am and Bar B Q later in the day. It would be a great time for the club photo. There will be a helicopter available to take the camera person up above the cars. A motion was made and seconded to have the club photo taken at 10:00 am. The motion was passed. So mark your calendar for June 21st at 10 am!!! Let s have a great turn out for a super club photo. We were reminded of the car show June 14th at the Andover Life Care Center between 10 am 2 pm. 14 or 15 hands showed interest in attending. The May Drive & eat will leave from old Builder s Square on east Kellogg. New Business Mike McKee asked that we insure proper seating for our meetings. Too many people must stand throughout the meeting. Monte said he would let Jim Hattan know in advance. Thanks Mike for thinking of our guests! Swap and Shop Dick Preisser still has his 82 and a 59 Impala. 50/50 Pot won by Kasey King Door Prize Drawing was won by Earl Kunc.
