Page 2 of 18 Baseball Sweeps Grissom to Begin Area Play The Huskies improved to 24-6 overall and 2-0 in 7A Area 7 with wins over Grissom last week. Tuesday: Hewitt 5 Grissom 4 Austin Bittle drove home the winning run Tuesday night as Hewitt defeated Grissom in the Area opener. The Tigers led the game 4-3 going to the bottom of the 7th. Carson Skipper led off the inning with a single. Tyler Mauldin followed with another hit and Skipper moved to 3rd. Michael Fowler hit a sacrifice fly to right field. Skipper scored and the game was tied. Next, Davis Burgin and Caden Kirk were both hit by pitches to load the bases. Bittle hit the ball hard to first base scoring the winning run. Skipper was excellent on the mound as he tossed a complete game and struck out six Grissom batters. Skipper also had three hits including a double. Ed Johnson had two hits and a RBI. Tyler Mauldin had two hits and a RBI, and Michael Fowler added two RBI's. Thursday: Hewitt 5 Grissom 0 Hewitt-Trussville Baseball traveled to Grissom Thursday night and defeated the Tigers 5-0. Michael Fowler was terrific on the mound as he pitched 6 2/3 innings. Fowler only allowed three hits and struck out eight batters. The Hewitt offense collected timely hits. Zach Defnall had two hits including a triple. Carson Skipper and Caden Kirk had two hits each. Ed Johnson and Tyler Mauldin each had a hit and a RBI. The Huskies will continue Area play this week as they host Huntsville on Tuesday April 10. Area Standings-As of April 10 Hewitt-Trussville 2-0 Huntsville 2-0 Gadsden City 0-2 Grissom 0-2

Page 3 of 18 Softball Beats Huntsville to Remain 1st in Area Hewitt-Trussville Softball improved to 26-6 overall and 3-0 in 7A Area 7 with a 9-0 win Monday night over Huntsville. The Huskies jumped on top early with four runs in the 1st inning. Molly Cobb pitched a complete game shutout. Cobb allowed just six hits for the game. Hewitt had 11 hits on the night and scored two runs in the 4th and three runs in the 5th. Kailey Walters had three hits and scored a run. Molly Cobb, Hannah Borden, and Anyce Harvey all had two hits Monday. Borden had three RBI's and Harvey drove in two. The Huskies will continue Area play Tuesday night when they travel to Grissom. Page 4 of 18 Atkinson Goes Low in Round 1 Dawson Atkinson fired a round of 69 in the first round of the Tom Bell Memorial at Limestone Springs on Monday. Atkinson shot a 34 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine. Dylan Webb shot a 74 on Monday. His round included a score of 35 on the back nine. Hewitt is in 4th place after the first day of competition. A total of 16 teams are competing the tournament. The second and final round will be played on Tuesday.

Page 7 of 18 Tennis Defeats Bob Jones to Cap Region Play The Boys and Girls Tennis team both defeated Bob Jones 9-0 on Monday in the last regular season Region match. Five Seniors (Caroline Hill, Sarah Rushing, Rebecca Self, Connor Compton, and Justin Blake) were honored as a part of the Senior Night festivities. The Girls finished a perfect 7-0 in region matches. The Boys improved to 15-3 overall on the season. Page 10 of 18 Outdoor Track: Boys Win Event; Girls Place 2nd On Saturday April 7, the Huskies Outdoor Track team traveled to Spain Park for the Spain Park Classic. The Boys finished 1st out of 18 teams and the Girls finished 2nd out of 20 teams. Page 12 of 18 Girls Soccer Wins Tournament in Foley The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer team traveled to Foley for the Gulf Coast Classic over the weekend. The team began the event with a 5-3 win over Discover (GA). The team followed with identical 3-0 wins over St. Paul's and Daphne. The Huskies will host Hoover on April 10 before traveling to Huntsville for an Area game on April 12. The JV Girls team also won the tournament title in Foley. The defeated Elberta 3-0, Daphne 10-0, and Chelsea 5-0.

Page 13 of 18 Boys Soccer Hits the Road Thursday The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Soccer team will travel to Huntsville on Thursday for a key Area game. The Huskies are 2-1 and are in 2nd place in the Area. Huntsville is currently 1-2 and in 3rd place. Only the top two teams in the Area advance to the playoffs. Last weekend, Hewitt defeated Daphne 1-0 in a tournament in Foley. Middle School Baseball Sweeps Helena The Middle School Baseball team picked up two more wins Monday night as they defeated Helena by the scores of 5-0 and 16-6.The Huskies will host the season-ending tournament April 13-14. Hewitt won the tournament championship last season.

Page 14 of 18 HTMS Softball to Play for Title The HT Middle School Softball team will play for the Metro South Tournament Championship Tuesday night. The Huskies, undefeated on the season, do not know who their opponent will be yet. That will be determined earlier Tuesday evening. Hewitt opened the event with a 11-6 win over Thompson Friday night, After rain postponed the tournament, the Huskies picked up two more wins Monday. Coach Jim Bailes' team beat Pizitz 6-1 and Simmons 7-2.

Page 15 of 18 MS Boys Golf Defeats Berry The HTHS Boys Golf team defeated Berry on Monday as they shot their lowest round of the season. The Huskies won by the score of 120-132. Stuart Dickson and Seth Hacker both shot rounds of 39 for Hewitt. Sawyer Caine added a round of 42.

Page 16 of 18 MS Girls Golf Wins On April 5, the HTMS Girls Golf team picked up a 108-114 win over Homewood at Trussville Country Club. The Girls had a low round of 41 on the day. The team will be back in action on April 10 as they travel to Pizitz.
