EAST FORK TREASURE HUNTERS ASSOCIATION Our Club NEWSLETTER December 2018 ABOUT OUR CLUB: Founded in 2005, we are a family friendly, fun-seeking group of folks that enjoy the hobby of metal detecting, searching for lost coins, jewelry, or other treasures that are surely out there. We help clean up parks and responsibly recover items following our digging ethics. Typically we meet on the first Thursday of every month and our meetings are open to the public. We would love to have you as a member or would just welcome your friendly visit. Lost something and need our help finding it? Visit our website or email us at eastforktreasure@gmail.com. Our club Newsletter helps keep our members informed about the activities and adventures of our metal detecting club. We welcome your visit! Our next club meeting will be on Thursday, December 6th at the gymnasium inside the New World United Methodist Church, 5134 Northwest Highway, Garland, TX 75043, from 7 9 pm. Look for the EFTHA sign! (The GPS coordinates are: N 32 51 20.56 W 96 38 10.05.). Our next Fun Hunt is scheduled for the Saturday following the meeting week. More info at the meeting. REFRESHMENTS REMINDER BOX: We proudly announce that our new Refreshments Coordinator is Robert W! Our club is now also providing a budget for refreshments so we typically will have hot dogs or other snacks at each meeting as well! Even so, lets please show our continued support and remember to bring in a snack or drink to each meeting as it is always appreciated! DUES ARE DUE IN JANUARY Wow, has it been a year already? Time sure flies! In January, the club asks everyone to pay thier membership dues. Its $25 per family membership, and $20 for individual membership. It's a vital part of how the club pays for stuff so its important that we take care of this. The good news is that the club has put into place now an incentive if you pay your dues in January! The "EFTHA Treasurers Coin and Prize Guideline" (as of Oct. 18, 2018) states; "Members that pay their dues at the January meeting shall receive a raffle ticket for a special drawing; Family membership shall receive two tickets if both are present, Lifetime members receive a ticket each if present, Member of the year and Treasure Hunter of the Year each receive a ticket if present. Prizes: 1st ticket drawn receives a Silver Eagle, 2nd ticket drawn receives two silver half dollars, 3rd ticket drawn receives two silver quarters. Drawing is to be held at end of January meeting." WOW! Very nice prizes! Thanks everyone for paying your dues in January and good luck on the special drawing! UPDATING THE MEMBER CONTACT SHEET At the January meeting we will have an opportunity to update our "Member - OK to contact sheet", which is the flyer we send out to the membership with contact information so we can find a hunting buddy or whatever. This list contains the information the YOU say is "ok to publish" to the club membership. Typically it contains only your name, phone number (home/cell), and/or email. No address is given. If you are already on the list and would like to continue with the same information already provided, just please check "OK as is" on the circulated list. If you are new and would like to be added to this list, please check the "please add me to the list" box. If you are on the list and would like to be taken off, please check the "remove me from the list" box. Remember that the next opportunity to update the list will be around June or July of this year. There is a lot of details to get correct so please take the time to look over carefully your information on the list. Thanks for helping in getting the "OK to Contact" list updated. www.eastforktreasurehunters.com eastforktreasure@gmail.com Page 6 of 7
