FAQ Q What, exactly, are the equipment/uniform requirements for practices and games? A Shoes and shin guards are mandatory for every practice and game A Soccer cleats are preferred, but non-soccer sneakers may be permitted, with referee approval only A Shin guards must be completely covered by the uniform socks A No jewelry of any kind, in hair or on body, is allowed A Nails must be trimmed to protect safety of all players A Full uniform as issued (jersey, shorts, socks) are required for every game Q Do I need to check my team in at the check in tables before every game? A Once your folder has been stamped, all coaches must still have their game cards stamped at the check in tables, players will be checked in at the field by the referee A All game cards must be returned to the check in tables after game ends Q What happens if there is no referee available for my game? A The Referee Administrator will make every effort to assign referee(s) to every game A For 6U and 8U games, coaches may need to referee the match if no referees are available 21
FAQ Q Is participation in the season fundraiser optional? A No, participation in the season fundraiser is mandatory for all registered players A Players parents may elect to pay the early buyout fee during registration A Players whose parents do not pay the early buyout must either sell the minimum number of items or submit the $30 buyout fee A Players whose parents do not participate in the fundraiser will not be permitted to participate in playoff game activities at the end of the season, and will not be allowed to register the next season before remedial fees have been paid A Upper divisions (16U, 19U) are charged a mandatory buyout fee at registration, and are not required to sell items or pay additional buyout fees during the season Q Who can play in playoff games? A Players eligible to participate in playoff games at the end of the regular season must have: o Met the referee and volunteer point requirements by the last scheduled regular season game o Played in at least ½ of all of the regular season games o Completed the regular season without significant disciplinary action 22
FAQ Q If I can t make it to a practice/game, can a parent run the team in my place? A In order for a parent to act as Coach or Assistant Coach, he/she must meet the certification requirements for all coaches and must have the signed player forms in his/her possession while acting in that capacity A If you cannot coach your team on game day, and do not have a certified parent that can step in, contact a Coach Administration member as early as possible for assistance in finding a stand-in coach to temporarily coach your team Q What help is available to me for difficult players and/or parents? A Contact a Coach Administration member for help and guidance A If a Coach Administration member is unavailable at the tents on game day, ask any person at the tents to send someone to your field asap Q How can I get another uniform for a player who needs/wants a different size? A Extra uniform orders are rare, due to cost constraints A Try to hand out uniforms when all players are present to avoid having to switch uniform kits later A If players are unavailable when passing out uniforms, make a best guess on size needed based on the player s height and weight included on player form 23
