MFI Footnotes December 21, 2009 Sale Lot 6 Proven donor cow averaged 10 embryos in last two flushes Lot 7 Benchmark donor cow sold 2 sons as breeder bulls for $12,500 and $14,000. Confirmed AI bred to Regent full sibling to Cornerstone, the $14,000 bull that sold to Crossroad Farms. Lot 8 Dam to Anchor T Barbi 46K Lot 9 MFI Donor Cow Tremendous embryo production averaged 18 embryos in last 3 flushes. $12,500 son sold in our 2006 bull sale to Maxwell s. Lot 11 One of the top female producers at MFI and she also produced one of the top flushes ever at MFI lots 68-72. Other daughters selling are lots 22, 36, and 37. Because 28G is still open after sire exposure and didn t work that well in ET this fall, we have decided not to sell her, however, just like lots 75, 76, 115, and 116 we have decided to sell the right to clone ATFR 28G. The buyer purchases the right to clone ATFR 28G at their convenience and expense. This cloning right is intended for the buyer only and is non-transferable. All cell line rights to the clones of ATFR 28G remain property of MFI. Lot 13 Full sister to Anchor T Barbi 46K. Lot 16 Excellent producer a son was a high seller for $9,500 to Double Bar D in 2008. Strong daughters also sell. Lot 17 Full sister to Legend, Impact and Ikon. Produced 2 exceptional sons in 2004 and 2005. 19L carried twins through the bitter cold last winter, which took its toll on her. We observed a late breeding but cannot confirm a pregnancy at this time. Lot 18 Leading donor at MFI. Consistent embryo producer averaged 10 embryos over the last 5 flushes. High selling son at $9,500 to Robb Farms in 2007. Excellent daughters are in the sale as well. MFI retains the cell line rights to ATFR 10L for cloning purposes. However, the new owner of ATFR 10L will receive the right to clone her at their expense and convenience. This cloning right is intended for the buyer only and is non-transferable. All cell line rights to the clones of ATFR 10L remain property of MFI. Lots 18 A H Lot 18A MFI 35R (100% Fleckvieh) Lot 18B MSS 63K (100% Fleckvieh) Lot 18C 125N (100% Fleckvieh) Lot 18D Simmental X Hereford 3 year-old Lot 18E Simmental X Hereford 3 year-old Lot 18F Simmental X Hereford 3 year-old Lot 18G Simmental X Hereford 3 year-old Lot 18H Simmental X Hereford 3 year-old Lot 20 Excellent producer. Daughter is Lot 73. Lost her exceptional heifer calf this year out of Regent. She needs to be flushed to Regent. She accidentally became pregnant to the June 4 th Maximum Capacity breeding 20 days after calving. Lot 22 Lot 23 Lot 24 MFI Donor cow One of the top N s born at MFI. Foundation bloodlines and flawless phenotype. Produced one of our top bull calves this year out of Jahari. Flushmate to the high selling Whistler son that sold for $12,500 to Kopp Farms in 2005. Donor quality female. Lot 25 Top daughter of lot 16. Top 10% production. Powerful yearling daughter is lot 74. Lot 27 Full sister to the $12,500 bull that sold to Maxwell s in 2006. Lot 28 Granddaughter of Krystall, the full sister to Anchor T Rusty. Lot 29 Full sister to Lot 25. Dam of lot 59. Lot 30 62R was one of the strongest R born females at MFI but had the misfortune of getting bred at 6 months of age and calving at 15 months of age, which had set her back. She has finally developed to her potential. Lot 31 Lot 34 Dam is 29N and Granddam is 28G. Lots of future potential. Strong daughter of 29N (lot 22). Produced an outstanding heifer calf this year. Lot 35 Potential future leading matron at MFI. Natural daughter of ATFR 10L, Lot 18.

Lot 36 Lot 38 Natural twin daughter of 28G. Produced one of the top heifer calves this year. High quality female. Produced our top black F1 bull this year. Lots 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53 Good young 1 st calvers. Our heifers were never separated from the cowherd. They competed with 350 cows in the bitter cold last winter, eating straw 2 out of every 3 days, with no bedding and little wind protection, bale grazing in the pasture. Lot 50 ET daughter of 77F (lot 9). Very high quality female. Lot 51 Maternal sister to Barbi 46K. Lot 52 Lot 53 ET daughter of 40D (lot 7). Full sister to Cornerstone, the $14,000 high seller to Crossroad Farms this spring. Full sister to Lot 50. The Harrach X 77F cross worked really well. Lots 54 75 As noted in other areas of the catalogue- these yearling heifers were left open, with the exception of the 3 heifers on the first day of AI, to accommodated breeders with a winter calving program. Lots 55 58 Are ET Jahari daughters out of 10L (lot 18). Lot 55 One of three heifers AI d Black Angus out of the entire yearling heifer pen. The rest of the heifers were left open after the 1 st AI day. A full sister to the $9,500 high selling bull in 2007, sold to Robb Farms. Very sound and moderate framed with loads of pigmentation. Lot 57 Tremendous depth of body one of my favourites. Lots 65 & 66 Line bred Helga 10Y twin sisters. Lot 66 Lot 67 Lots of potential in this heifer. ET daughter of 29N (lot 22). Full sister to our top indexing yearling bull last year. Lot 68 72 ET flushmates one of the top flushers ever produced at MFI. Lots 69 72 were the top indexing heifers out of their entire contemporary group. Lot 73 Lot 74 Genetically superior with ideal phenotype. One of the top yearling heifers. If you want power, this heifer has it. Lots 75 & 76 Feel free to ask further questions on this offer. This cloning right is intended for the buyer only and is nontransferable. All cell line rights to the clones of MFL 95P and MFL 8Z remain property of MFI. Lot 78 A breed gem out of Petra 95P and a rare Romulus daughter and full sister to MSS Jasper. Daughters are lots 92, 100, 104, and 112. Lot 81 Dam of a high selling Whistler son to Double Bar D in this spring s bull sale. This cow produces power. Lot 82 Raised the high selling F1 bull at $4,600 in the 2008 bull sale and has the top F1 bull this year. Her calves outperform the competition every year. Lot 83 Was scheduled to be a future MFI donor cow. Top production record. Raised a couple of elite Supreme daughters that met untimely deaths, including the dam of Foundation 7094, the $14,000 co-high selling bull in this year s bull sale to Double Bar D. Also raised one of the top bulls last year that will sell near the top of the bull sale this year. Lot 84 One of the top Zaila daughters in existence. An injury suffered by her calf last year, forced her to miss her sire exposure period and her expected Fleckvieh AI service pregnancy turned into an Angus pregnancy by mistake. Due to calve the start of January. MFI will calve her out and truck the pair later if required. Lot 86 Maternal sister to 55L (lot 83). Raised one of the top bull calves this year out of Whistler.

Lot 87 Out of a full sister to Zaila. 102M s son is one of the top coming two-year-old bulls selling this spring. Lot 88 Future donor for MFI. Last years son sold to Kopp Farms for $12,500. Produced another good son this year. Tremendous capacity, moderate framed, and resembles Freya 4M. Lot 91 Tremendous capacity with moderate frame and sound structure. An ideal female. One of our best young two-year-olds is her daughter, Lot 109. Lot 92 Lot 94 A powerhouse cow. Her Regent coming two-year-old son will be one of the top bulls in this spring s bull sale. Watch for her Jahari son in this year s sale. He is one of our best. 105N is an excellent producer. Lot 97 Phenotypically, one of the most impressive cows at MFI. Tremendous capacity, thickness, eye appeal. Don t miss one of our best. Her Metro calf could be the next great one. Lot 98 Flushmate sister to Fusion, walking at Northern Light Simmentals. Lots of potential here. Raised one of the top F1 bull calves last year as a two-year-old. Lot 101 Produced an outstanding Jahari daughter this year. Lots 103, 104, 105, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111 Another group of hard working two-year-olds out of some of our best cows. There are some outstanding calves weaned off of these heifers. Lot 105 Dam was the high selling bred heifer from MFL Ranches dispersal. This heifer bred Whistler should produce something exciting. Lot 106 Slipped her calf last year. Due June 11 th, 2010. Lot 108 Raised one of our top F1 bull calves. Lot 109 Has the makings of an outstanding brood cow like her mother. Lot 112 Powerful Jeremiah daughter with foundation bloodlines. Lot 113 Full sister to Lot 109. Moderated framed and stout like her mother. Lot 114 Another powerful Jeremiah daughter. One of the top yearlings available. Lots 115 & 116 Feel free to ask further questions on this offer. This cloning right is intended for the buyer only and is nontransferable. All cell line rights to the clones of ATFR 22Z and ATFR 5B remain property of MFI. Lot 118 Solid producer weaned and outstanding Jahari heifer calf this year. Lot 120 Full sister in blood to Emmy 5B. Phenotypically flawless with capacity and moderate frame. I lost twin bull calves out of her this year. Her two-year-old daughter, lot 145, is one of our best. Also lot 141, a full sister to lot 145, is an ideal Fleckvieh female. Lot 123 Excellent patterned, long bodied cow. She is out of one of my favourite Anchor T cows, 51F, who we unfortunately lost back in 2005. Lot 124 49N is one of my strongest N born females. She had twin bulls last year that set her back a bit. She is bred MC, June 5 th. Lot 127 Out of sale Lots 130, 132, & 135 Flushmate Houston daughters with good production.

Lot 131 Strong production. 1 st calf high selling F1 female for $3,000. 2 nd calf - lot 151. Lot 138 Ideal forage type female with moderate frame and depth of body. Lot 139 Maternal sister to lot 153. Her dam died unexpectedly this spring and was one of our best Whistler daughters. Lot 141 Moderate, sound and functional with all the bells and whistles. Lot 154 A typical Regent daughter. Moderate framed and smooth made. Lot 155 50U s dam was an ideal Balist daughter who we lost to hardware this summer. 50U has always been an exceptionally thick heifer since birth. Lot 156 Another powerful, high quality Jeremiah daughter. Lot 157 39D should enter an ET program. Dam of lot 159, 97L and a full brother to 97L also sold in our 2003 bull sale for $9,500. Lot 159 A future donor female for MFI and one of our best cows. It s your turn to take over and flush her. She had produced a $9,500 Jahari son who sold in 2006 and a Jahari son in 2007 was one of our best as well. She raised twin heifers this year. Lot 160 Another solid Impact daughter. Lot 161 Solid production with an outstanding bull calf this year. Lot 163 Had an outstanding Whistler heifer calf this year. Lot 164 An elite Bandit daughter. Excellent production. Lot 165 The dam of Lot 5, Maximum Capacity, and lot 182, and has a son this year who is a full brother to Maximum Capacity who destroyed the competition at weaning. 2N deserves the hardest worker award at MFI. Bred back to Whistler. Lot 167 A sound and moderate Metro daughter out of Lot 164. Dam of lot 179. Lot 168 Lots of power in this 1 st calver. Lot 170 144S was the top heifer calf born in 2006. Lot 186 Out of sale

Lot 187 66L worked really well with Regent the last couple of yeas. 66L was observed bred to Porter s Reserve on November 24 th, but cannot confirm a pregnancy at this time. Lot 188 A good producing Impact daughter and a descendent of Edel 45B, the dam of Supreme. Her daughters are lots 190 and 192. Her 2008 heifer was near the top of the yearling heifer group but unfortunately had her leg broken and had to be put down. Lot 189 Confirmed pregnant to Regent A.I. Her Regent heifer calf this year has been her best calf yet. Lot 192 Big capacity Whistler daughter who produced one of the most powerful heifer calves born this year and one of the top T born females, lot 201. Lot 196 Maternal sister to the $12,500 MFI Mercury bull who walked at Kim Lake Farms. Lot 198 I am really impressed with these Stimulation daughters. Her Regent breeding should really work. Lot 201 A big bodied female like her mother, lot 192. She produced one of the top F1 bull calves this year. Lot 231 & 236 Are full sisters out of a powerful Country cow who unfortunately died in pasture this summer. Their dam was a deep red, big goggled cow with tremendous body depth and produced a top calf every year. Lot 231 has a strong Bronson son in our coming two-year-old bull pen and is bred back the same way. Lot 236 produced one of the top F1 heifer calves last year. Her Whistler mating should produce something special. Lot 241 94U s dam was an ideal, moderate framed Legend cow who died when 94U was a couple of months old. Lot 243 The last natural calf of the famous Becky 88B cow and Becky saved her best till last. 31U is one of our most powerful yearling heifers with tremendous length of body. A definite donor prospect. Lot 246 Another powerful Impact daughter. 6M has also been a strong producer for us. Lot 247 137N produced a Metro son her first year, who sold for $7,500 in our 2006 sale. MFI Retains the cell line rights to MFI Shamu 3137 for cloning purposes. However, the new owner of MFI 137N will receive the right to clone her at their expense and convenience. This cloning right is intended for the buyer only and is non-transferable. All cell line rights to the clones of MFI 137N remain property of MFI.
