Varsity Football Field for Entire Calendar Year The quote must be a two year service agreement for services equivalent or superior to the following descriptions and practices. Quotes must be based on reel mowing techniques, aeration techniques, seeding, topdressing, verticutting, general maintenance requirements like fertilizing and the application of fungicides and insecticides. The following is a description of each practice that is expected to occur: Two deep-tine, shatter-tine aeration to be conducted throughout the growing season using an Aerway aerator. An initial double, deep coring of the playing surface using a piston-driven golf green s aerator using 3/4 tines at a spacing of 2.4 by 3. Seed entire field area with 80/20 Kentucky Bluegrass/Perennial Ryegrass athletic seed mix using a slit-seeder. After it has been seeded, a high Phosphorous and a high Potassium fertilizer must be applied to enhance germination. Seed will be broadcast throughout the football season five times. 150-200 lbs. of seed will be used during each visit. Perennial Ryegrass seed will be used. Twenty-five tons of C-33 mason sand that conforms to USGA specs must be evenly top-dressed over the entire field. Cultivation of seed. Using golf green verticut units, the playing surface will be verticut in two directions. After coring, the field will be drug one direction. Six applications of a complete fertilizer will be applied to the field throughout the growing season. All areas will be sprayed for broadleaf herbicide as needed. A complete fertilizer (N-P-K) is essential. A subsurface insecticide that will suppress insects, like grubs, will be applied in the summer. Three fungicide treatments must be made to the playing field. These will be applied during times when disease pressure is greatest. Both contact and systemic fungicides must be tank mixed together and sprayed together. Two applications of a soil surfactant called Radius. Four applications on Turf Screen. Five foliar spays, over the top of the turfgrass, consisting of foliar fertilizers using 18-3-6 and turfgrass biostimulants. Three mowings of the field per week and as needed to maintain the finished height of 1 5/8. A golf course reel mower must be used in this operation. Irrigation consultation After the athletic playing seasons are over in the fall, contractor will perform the following maintenance practices to prepare the playing field for the following season: A deep-tine, shatter-tine aeration procedures will be performed using an Aerway aerator. Deep Core the playing surface with a piston-driven golf greens aerator using 3/4 tines at a spacing of 2.4 by 3. After coring, the field must be drug one direction.

Contractor will walk the entire field after all varsity and jv varsity games to replace and heal-in divots to promote the best playing surfaces possible and to aid in the recovery of the field so that it is prepared for the next game. This can occur immediately after the games or the next morning. Will provide all necessary equipment, material, and labor to perform the field maintenance. Upon request, the contractor agrees to attend all Building/Grounds Committee meetings to provide information to the committee regarding the varsity fields. All invoicing will of above work will begin July 1 st of the year the work is provided and continue through December 31 st. All invoicing will be itemized per occurrence and per service on the invoice. RE: Varsity Baseball & Softball Fields for Entire Calendar Year This is for the basic turfgrass maintenance of the varsity baseball and softball fields. Deep Core the playing surface with a piston-driven golf greens aerator using 3/4 tines at a spacing of 2.4 by 3. This coring process is far superior to using a drum style aerator because of deeper soil plugs being removed and far more soil disruption occurring. This will be completed in the early fall. Four applications of a complete fertilizer will be applied to the field throughout the growing season. All areas will be sprayed with a broadleaf herbicide as needed. A subsurface insecticide that will suppress insects, like grubs, will be applied in the summer to give control through the fall. Assumes responsibility if any damage occurs to the school district s property as the direct result of an activity by contractor.
