MSU has won fi ve out of the last six in this series and 14 out of the last 18 overall. In Fayetteville, MSU has won three out of the last seven. The Bulldogs last win at Bud Walton Arena came in 2009, 70-56. With the win against Arkansas earlier this year, MSU coach Rick Stansbury moved above.500 against every team in the West. Rick Stansbury-coached teams are 81-56 against Western Division foes in his 13 years at the helm. Senior forward Kodi Augustus needs just 11 more rebounds to become the 32nd player at MSU to reach 500 for a career. With 270 victories, Rick Stansbury ranks 11th all-time in SEC history. In his last four outings, senior guard Ravern Johnson has made 23 of his 39 shots (.590), while making 14 of his 22 3-pointers (.636). Against Tennessee, both Kodi Augustus (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Dee Bost (14 points, 10 assists) had double-doubles to mark the first time this season MSU had two players achieve that feat in the same game. On the year, MSU players have recorded 11 double-doubles. At Tennessee, senior guard Riley Benock moved past Derrick Zimmerman for the third-most games played at MSU at 128. Jarvis Varnado and Barry Stewart hold the record of 141. Ravern Johnson stands at fifth with 125 games. Dee Bost is now 86 assists shy of tying Derrick Zimmerman s school record of 514 after he dished out nine for the second-straight game Wednesday against LSU. DID YOU KNOW Junior guard Dee Bost has enjoyed great success against Arkansas?during his career. In five games against the Razorbacks, he s scored 88 points for an average of 17.6 scoring clip. Earlier this year at the Hump, he totaled 18 in the Bulldogs 67-56 victory. MEET ARKANSAS Arkansas enters Wednesday s key SEC showdown having won two-straight games and four out of the last fi ve overall. The Razorbacks have also been tough to beat at home, where they are 15-3. In their last outing at Bud Walton Arena, they defeated then No. 22 Kentucky. BULLDOG BITES MSU'S ALL-SEC SELECTIONS In the preseason All-SEC team selection, Mississippi State had two players receive league honors as voted on by the league coaches. Junior point guard Dee Bost was tabbed fi rst team, while senior Ravern Johnson received second-team accolades. Neither made the media selections. HAVING JUST FOUR IS INDEED AN ODDITY Against Florida game, MSU had only four players score Dee Bost, Ravern Johnson, Kodi Augustus and Renardo Sidney. The last time that happened for MSU was at Oklahoma on Feb. 10, 1996, in a 76-71 win. The last time it happened for any time was last March, when Ohio had only four score against Miami (OH). SEEING PLENTY OF GAME ACTION Logging minutes isn t an issue for MSU players. Ravern Johnson is second in the SEC with his 34.7 minutes despite missing three games due to suspension and playing limited minutes in another. Also playing 30-plus minutes are Dee Bost (35.4), Riley Benock (32.0) and Kodi Augustus (31.6). 19 AND COUNTING FOR JOHNSON During his career, Ravern Johnson has made four or more 3-pointers in a game 22 times, including the fi ve he made against Kentucky on Tuesday night. His best outing came last November against Troy, when he hit seven to spark a come-from-behind win in OT despite traily by as many as 11 points in the second half. Catetory MSU IN THE SEC... MEET THE HEAD COACH Rick Stansbury, 13th year Consistency is a key ingredient to the recent success enjoyed by the University basketball program, one that is stressed in the players daily activities on and off the basketball fl oor that has translated into the program s recent run of national prominence gained under head coach Rick Stansbury. That consistency was brought to the forefront three years ago when MSU s 13th-year head basketball coach became the all-time winningest basketball coach in school history, surpassing Richard Williams mark of 191. Now with a 13-year coaching record of 270-153 at the Bulldog helm, the 14th-most wins in SEC history, Stansbury has guided 10 State squads (6 NCAA & 4 NIT) to postseason tournament appearances and nine clubs to 20-plus wins campaigns. MSU has averaged 21.3 wins the last six years (2005-10), including winning an outright SEC overall championship in 2004, along with back-to-back SEC West crowns in the 2003-2004 and 2007-2008 seasons an another in 2010, and SEC Tournament titles in 2002 and 2009. Most recently, Stansbury piloted last year s 24-12 State squad to its seventh SEC Western division crown in school history en route to advancing to the NIT, where the Bulldogs lost to North Carolina in the second round. From 2001-05, he guided MSU to fi ve-consecutive postseason tournament appearances for the fi rst time in school history, including a streak of four straight NCAA Tournament berths from 2002 through 2005.
