Parent Tot Sports Have fun together while learning a variety of sports. Develop hand-eye coordination and simple motor skills, such as catching, throwing, batting, shooting, and passing. Play soccer, basketball, t-ball and more. Equipment provided. BB Super Sports This fun-filled class teaches your child the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship while sparking an interest in a variety of sports. Stay active and work on balance, motor skills and hand-eye coordination while learning the rules of basketball, soccer, t-ball, and more. Play all the sports instead of just picking one! BB Baseball & Softball Skills Our top notch coaches will teach the importance of proper skills technique as well as the fundamentals of the sport. Speed and agility training, as well as in-game strategies will be taught throughout the program. Bring a water bottle, or two! Equipment: Bring baseball/softball glove; children may also bring their own bat. Contracted service taught by All Star Sports Instruction, Inc. BB Basketball Using fun basketball activities and games will enhance each player s experience. Instructors will focus on basic skill mechanics to build confidence then add harder challenges as the class progresses. Footwork is an extremely important aspect of the game. Participants will constantly be moving and working on dribbling, passing, and shooting. Teamwork and sportsmanship with be emphasized. Bring a water bottle. BB Basketball Skills The trainers will focus on individual skills as well as team play. Each session will begin with speed and agility drills that will enhance each player's ability to get up and down the court quickly, generate rapid change of direction, and creates explosion to the basket. These sessions will cover ball handling, proper shooting technique, footwork, and defensive and offensive strategies. Competitions and game play will enable each player to focus and work on learned skills. Equipment: Please bring a water bottle. This class is a contracted program taught by All Star Sports Instruction Inc. BB Floor Hockey Class Learn the game of hockey before the skates go on. This program instructs players on the proper mechanics of stick handling, puck control, passing, and shooting. Equipment needed: water bottle, shin guards, bike helmet and any gloves to cover fingers. Contracted service taught by All Star Sports Instruction, Inc. BB Junior Golf Boys and girls participate in a number of fun drills and games as they learn the complicated skill of swinging a golf club. Rules and proper game etiquette will be covered, all with fun as the main focus. Golf clubs are provided, but participants may bring their own clubs. Contracted service taught by All Star Sports Instruction, Inc. BB Soccer This class will keep the little ones active and engaged both mentally and physically. This action-packed game will keep players moving and engaged while learning simple foot skills, dribbling, passing, shooting and basic rules. Drills are even hidden in fun games. Teamwork and sportsmanship will be emphasized. Bring a water bottle. BB Soccer Skills This program is designed to teach to the game of soccer by hiding drills in fun games. We will cover simple foot skills, dribbling, passing, shooting, basic rules, spreading the field, and more! This program keeps all players active and is great base to prepare them for the next level of play. Equipment needed: Shin pads and water bottle. Contracted service taught by All Star Sports Instruction, Inc. BB T-Ball Instructors will keep players moving and learning. Learn the proper mechanics of catching, throwing, fielding, running bases and batting. Boost confidence and improve hand-eye coordination in this fun, safe and active environment. Teamwork and sportsmanship will be emphasized. Bring a water bottle and glove. BB Volleyball Class Designed to help players learn and develop a basic understanding of volleyball. The class will include instruction in the basic skills of serving, passing, setting, attacking and blocking. MARTIAL ARTS: KARATE Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland s premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion, US National Coach and President of the US National Karate Federation. ISKC s karate classes help develop flexibility, strength, and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. This program offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. T-BALL LEAGUE The Coed T-Ball League has been established for the purpose of introducing both boys and girls to organized T-Ball. It is the intention to teach players the rules of the game, develop skills, teach teamwork and good sportsmanship, and provide an opportunity for fun. The first two days will be practices and the remainder of the season will be games. Everyone receives a hat and shirt. Participants must bring their own glove. This league is dependent on volunteer coaches. If you are interested in coaching please contact Beth at brannen@plfdparks.org. These lessons are open to every level of golf from beginner to advanced, junior to senior golfer. Times are subject to change if classes do not meet minimum enrollment. Participants will need to pay a $10 range fee to the instructor at the first class. Lessons will be taught by the Prairie Bluff teaching staff.
