The Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) organized in conjunction with Rwanda Tennis Federation its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 th April 2018 at the Hotel des Mille Collines in Kigali with the participation of more than fifty Presidents and delegates from CAT African Federations Members representing 34 countries: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, K Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Family Picture with all participants at the CAT AGM 2018 This AGM was preceded the day before by the Meetings of the different African Zones. Thus, and in addition to the participation of the President and the members of the Executive Committee of the CAT, this AGM was marked by the presence of Mr. David Haggerty, President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) as well as several executives of the ITF Development Department.
All items on the agenda were presented and discussed, mainly: the approval of the 2017 AGM Minutes, discussion and unanimous approval of the 2017 financial report; Annual report of the President of the CAT and the annual report of its activities. The President and the ITF Officials also made a variety of interventions at this AGM, which took place as usual in a very friendly and fraternal atmosphere among all the delegates.
Around the CAT AGM : The Rwanda Tennis Federation organized a visit to all delegates to the Genocide Memorial. Flower Sprays in memory of the victims were presented by the Presidents of the CAT and the ITF as well as the delegates and officials present Participation in Community Work - UMUGANDA: UMUGANDA Shortly before the work of the CAT AGM, on the morning of Saturday, April 28, the Presidents of the CAT and the ITF as well as the Minister of Sports and Culture of Rwanda and a large number of delegates participated in community work in Rwanda - Umuganda introduced into Rwandan life in 1998 as part of the country's reconstruction efforts. CAT/ITF Award & Dîner Officiel de la FRT : The Rwandan Tennis Federation organized a Gala Dinner on Friday 27 April in honor of all the delegates.
During this dinner, the Presidents of the ITF and CAT awarded some National Federations awards in recognition of the work done in their country in the development of tennis during the year 2017. National Federations honored: honored CAT/ITF Award 2017: 2017 Tennis Kenya, Kenya for its achievements and progress in the development of tennis during the year 2017 Outstanding Acknowledgement of the CAT to the: Tunisian Tennis Federation, Federation for its great achievements in African Tennis during the year 2017. Outstanding Acknowledgement of the CAT to the: Tennis South Africa, Africa for its great achievements in African Tennis during the year 2017. Other awards were given by the ITF President for a National Federation of each of the five African zones in recognition of the progress made in promoting tennis: Zone I - North Africa: Morocco; Morocco Zone II - West Africa: Togo; Togo Zone III - Central Africa: Cameroon; Cameroon Zone IV East Africa: Rwanda; Rwanda Zone V - Southern Africa: Madagascar
The Presidents of the CAT and the ITF also honored the Rwanda Tennis Federation, the host country of the CAT General Annual Meeting of 2018 in the presence of the Minister of Sports and Culture of Rwanda.
