EAGLES PACKAGE HOLIDAY GIFT BAGS FOR LAUREL HOUSE, PCA, NOVEMBER 12, 2018 Lincoln Financial Field Eagles Participation: WR Mack Hollins, T More than 100,000 emergency calls that are domestic in nature are received by the Philadelphia Police Department every year. An additional 3,000 reports are filed in Philadelphia annually for children who fall victim to abuse. Charitable organizations like Laurel House and Philadelphia Children s Alliance (PCA) make it their mission to end domestic violence and promote healing for children who experience abuse in the household. Alongside Laurel House and PCA, the Eagles hosted a collection drive on Monday to support the members of both charities. Eagles players, coaches wives and support staff packaged holiday gift bags containing nail polish, jewelry, candles, journals and picture frames for the women of Laurel House. In addition, they also prepared bags consisting of books, arts and craft supplies, and toiletries for the kids of PCA. All the items were donated by Eagles players and the coaches wives. Laurel House and PCA are part of the Eagles Care network, serving as official partners for the 2018 season. The Eagles Care program works to strengthen each group s impact in the community. Powered by EVERFI and presented by the NFL and United Way, the digital education program teaches children how to foster and maintain healthy relationships, improve their communication skills, recognize positive and negative influences, manage their emotions and resolve conflicts. To inspire youth and empower them to cultivate these important character traits that lead to good citizenship in our communities, the Eagles, Mack Hollins, Chris Maragos and the United Way participated in a virtual Character Playbook classroom session with local schools on Monday. Students had the opportunity to connect with Hollins and Maragos through an interactive activity and Q&A session. EAGLES EAGLES PAINT MURAL, CLEAN GARDEN AT LAUREL HOUSE SHELTER, SEPTEMBER 24, 2018 Laurel House Shelter Eagles Participation: WR Mack Hollins, T A 2018 Eagles Care partner, Laurel House is a comprehensive domestic violence agency dedicated to providing supportive and preventative services to individuals, families and communities throughout Montgomery County. Laurel House offers transitional housing, legal and medical advocacy, counseling, children s programs, community education and more. On Monday, Mack Hollins and used their day off to visit with families residing at Laurel House. They painted an outdoor mural, cleaned up the garden and donated laptops and other assorted needs to the shelter. The Special Olympics works to create a world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. In conjunction with the 2018 NFL Kickoff Week, the Eagles and NFL hosted a unified flag football game for Special Olympics PA athletes at the NovaCare Complex on Tuesday. The NFL and Special Olympics announced a national partnership in 2017 with the goal of providing opportunities for athletes of all abilities to PLAY 60 through the expansion of unified flag football. the team.
