The good news is one of the examples fell into the hands of a local custom boat builder, and has been finished, and is a great example of a flats boat. The following is an independent review of the 2100 Famous Craft Wave-hopping over a two to three foot chop at highway-speeds, one thing was perfectly clear. This boat is put together like a brick. The heavy seas didn?t deter it one bit, and as we leapt from one whitecap to another, the boat came down solid and rattle-free each and every time???. Her all-composite construction includes a vinylester skin coat over Divinycell-cored decks and a hull backed by foam-cored fiberglass stringers. Her stout construction stands out as when I checked out the hardware, I looked behind every cleat, hatch, and fitting, and you?ll see aircraft style Nylock locking nuts capping off the bolts. Yet another surprise lay?s at the dash; it?s designed with plenty of room for electronics?? In fact there?s enough room to flush mount two full size screens and a VHF radio??. Our test boat was rigged up with a poling platform. There are two rod holders mounted in the aft deck so this is one flats boat that you can actually troll with. You?d rather live-bait? No problem. The 2100 houses a 35 gallon livewell in the aft deck, and a 25 gallon well in the foredeck. Performance is sporty, with a two second hole shot, seat-of-the-pants handling, and a chine design that throws water out and away from the boat effectively. Results like these that really make a craft famous. Quite a review, but the fact is, she is quite a boat. She is equipped with a 225XL EFI Mercury outboard engine with about 341 hours on a new power head, a poling platform, and a power pole. She is Mint Green, and she sports a keel guard. This is a great boat for a fraction of the cost of a new boat. She does not currently have her own trailer but we sure can fix that. Ignore the yard trailer that she is sitting on.
