Page 3 of 6 NTTA FEBRUARY CLUB EVENT The weather was Fantastic. Donny did a great job of testing the rider's "basics" skills in turns and off cambers. The loop length and time were taken into account since this was Superbowl Sunday, so everyone was loaded up and out of there by 3:30 p.m. The Trial was run as normal with Afternoon riders judging the morning sections and Morning riders judging in the afternoon. The turnout was very good for a Superbowl weekend and everyone helped with the observer duties. Donny Duval and Dan Burks did a very good job with the sections and everyone had a great time! Page 4 of 6 TEXAS STATE TRIALS NEWS 30 th Anniversary 2006 Texas State Series of Observed Trials This year s State Series began on February 11-12 with a return to Austin at City Park hosted by CTTA. Please take time to read the following information as there are a number of changes to this year s format. This year s Series is a best 5 of 9 round Series for Cadet, Rookie, Vintage, and Women s Classes and a best 8 of 9 for Novice through Master. This year, the State Series will award State Championship points to non-texas Residents. This is a one year probationary decision and will be re-evaluated for the 2007 Series. The hand off handlebar ruling has been altered. The rider may now remove a hand from the handlebar from a stationary position, while footing, as long as the rider does not reposition the motorcycle with the off hand. These changes are for the duration of the 2006 Texas State Series. Each host club must decide, individually, to adopt these changes for non-series events. The Treasury report was read and accepted by the members present. Old Business: - The Trials Masters for the March 4-5 State Series events were confirmed and are as follows: Ray and Glenn Roblin Saturday, March 4 th Bill Kunstmann and Dan Burks Sunday, March 5 th - Discussion followed regarding the Trials Master for the NTTA local event on April 2 nd. Atlee Cunningham and Tony Wedgeworth have volunteered to host an event (not necessarily the April event) at a new area in Mineral Wells. It is an area open to ATV s and off-road riding. There is no gate fee at this location. The other option for an NTTA event would be for club members to go to Tishmingo and help with final details for the National event the upcoming weekend, April 8 th and 9 th. A vote will be taken at the March club meeting to decide what the majority wants to do with that weekend. - The meeting location was changed from Arlington to Addison. TGI Fridays was very accommodating to our needs in spite of not having a meeting room. We will meet at this location again in March. Further searching for a more permanent location with even better accommodations will continue! (A word to the wise..do not park under the trees! There are thousands of birds meeting at this restaurant as well and let s just say..they will leave their mark on your car!)

There being no further business, the motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Keith Lewis and seconded by Clark Pittman.
